If I could give a zero I would. Wallpaper literally falling off walls, jacuzzi did not work, leaking ceiling, dirty bedding, carpet looked like someone puked on the floor. Currently staying here on my second night. Had a funeral in the family. This hotel is very nice. Fantastic breakfast in the mornings. I left all of my stuff here in my room and even with staff taking care of the room, nothing is missing. It's very nice and quiet. Beds are extremely comfortable. The swimming pool is very nice for a quick dip and then into the sauna. I'd definitely stay here again. Fridge and microwave in the room also. read more

I would say 2.5 stars. I have 2 main issues with this place. 1) we chose it specifically for the pool, and it was out of order. It didn't say that on the site, nobody bothered to let us know until we were literally there with our bags. I understand that the pool needs to be maintained. I'm not some unreasonable Karen who doesn't know that, but they made absolutely no effort to make it known. Yeah I could have asked for a discount, but honestly we were not welcomed warmly, and I felt like the clerks were gonna give us shit. Also, we were having a good time, why ruin the vibe? But in retrospect i felt ripped off. The clerks were okay, but really not welcoming. I don't want you to lick my feet when I walk in, but for, again, $130, put in some effort to say hi and be welcoming. 2) We got the jacuzzi suite, which was pretty nice, except the shower didn't have a mat, and neither did the floors, which were some kind of smooth stone. I slipped maybe 4 times taking a shower. If I spend that much for one night, I don't want to get hurt taking a damn shower. You have money for every room to have a little coffee maker and microwave and all this other stuff, but you can't buy a $2 bath mat? Pathetic! The dining area staff was rad though. I didn't catch the lady's name, but she was a treat. The food was pretty good. Basic stuff really, but great coffee, a rotating waffle maker with normal and strawberry batters, good eggs, sausage, bagels, yadda yadda. Solid continental breakfast for sure. I probably wouldnt go again at that price point. Don't want to slip and die. Nice beds I guess? Really comfy. Had a small couch, too, which was pretty cool. Budget-level accommodations at a budget-level price. That's really all there is to say. It's not a bad thing, it's just how it is. Even the "suites" here (not really suites as defined by Mirriam Webster, as there aren't multiple connected rooms. It's just one room that's very slightly larger than a normal one) are still well under $100 per night. The water pressure in the showers isn't that great, but it gets the job done. The same could be said for the morning breakfast, as well as the in-room non-HD tube TV -- not great, but functional. The people at the desk were generally friendly, although one seemed bored and disinterested when we arrived and another was busy with a personal call when I was trying to print out my boarding pass and later check out. Felt like I kept interrupting whatever was going on there. This is the most convenient hotel to our destination, and since it was cheap and no one died, we'd come back for our next visit. read more

We booked this hotel based on the website and amenities. If you're thinking of booking, think again. Our room was large, I'll give them that. We booked a King jacuzzi suite. First of all, the toilet handle was wobbly and felt like it would fall off when you tried to flush. There was a yellow stain on the floor around the toilet. Also yellowing on the marble surrounding the jetted tub. The mirror looked like the cleaning staff either can't reach or doesn't care to reach the top. Dust was very thick. Gross. "Heated Pool" was colder than Lake Michigan. We tried to go in and couldn't stay in it. The area was also littered with candy wrappers and there were some floating in the pool as well. So we thought that we'd try the sauna. The temperature control on the outside was either broken off or had issues. It looked like they have cemented over it. Turned the timer, went in and sat. And waited. And waited. Not working?? Back upstairs to try to use the jetted tub. The water is so slow it took almost 40 minutes for it to get to the point that the jets were usable. While sitting I noticed the disgusting dirt on one corner of the tub. Do they clean here? The walls are paper thin. I heard the people next door engaging in adult activities while in the tub. When we left for dinner I noticed trash in the hallway. Gross. If you're still determined to stay here, make sure to ask for a room that does not face the highway. Noise is awful. During dinner we discussed all that was wrong with the hotel and decided we didn't want to stay there. My husband talked to the front desk attendant and see about a refund. The noise level had gone up considerably since we left as well. James at the desk offered to show us another suite. Up to the third floor we went. When we got off the elevator we could hear the noise already of someone having a party. No thank you, sleeping is a priority. We told James we would go back to the room to discuss and let him know. We walked in to hear the neighbor's tv that was so loud it sounded like we were in the same room. Icing on the cake. No management was on duty, nor could management be reached. We were assured that we would receive a call the next morning. After we didn't hear from management my husband called the hotel. Guess what? the manager wasn't even scheduled for that day! He was told that she wouldn't be in until 11 am tomorrow. So again, we wait. During the wait he emailed choice hotels and guest relations. No call again this morning. He calls the hotel. The manager was in at 11 last night and won't be back until 11 tonight. Are you kidding me? Is lying the skill they teach when you are hired? At this point we called the 800 number. About 10 minutes on hold until a person answered. Again he listed all that was wrong and how we are being lied to by each person. This person says they are a supervisor. Says the hotel has 72 hours to respond to a formal complaint and that he'll check with the hotel to see if a manager is there. Of course there was no manager, we had just called. Avoid the headache and skip this hotel. read more

Five stars for Cassandra who went out of her way to help me even though she was clearly very busy! Front desk staff wonderful and helpful. I'm pretty low maintenance and just needed a place to rest on my trip. Big refrigerator and microwave in the room and a Meijers grocery store five minutes away! There were a few cobwebs in the room and there were some funny smells in the common areas sometimes, but I was always comfortable in my room. My family and I stayed at Sleep In at 1761 Meijer Cir, Oregon, OH 43616 (Toldedo) last night and it was a huge mistake. There were purple nail polish spots all over the main floor. Goldfish crackers and other food/trash debris was all through out the floor, it did not look like it was vacuumed. There was a red stain on a white sheet approximately 4" in diameter. The shower had long brown hairs on the walls and the bathroom door was filthy. It was an absolute horrible experience. Hopefully we did not bring anything home with us like coronavirus or bed bugs. I have never stayed in such a disgusting hotel. Never staying with Choice Hotels again. read more

This hotel is disgusting. The floors in the hall are loose and bunched up. The rooms are FILTHY! We had dried up puke in the corner of our room and white stains on the chair. The furniture was falling apart and flaking all over. The carpet looked like it haven't been swept in months. The rugs were stained and dirty. After , trying to sleep there were children, teens , and adults running in screaming in the hallway when i woke around 3am since the fire Alarm was set off. Lacking . No housekeeping came on the following day. The day after again no housekeeping. I needed new towels was told by the front desk they are short staff that is reason why housekeeping had not been to room in 2 days. And if I needed towels I should come to front desk and pick them up myself. Stayed here for 1 night while driving up to MI. I had two dogs with me and the hotel policy is that guests with dogs had to stay in smoking rooms. We stayed in a king suite which had a huge bedroom, mini fridge and sitting area. The bathroom was small compared to the rest of the room. Even though it was a smoking room, it didn't reek of cigarettes. That was a pleasant surprise. There's a pool and a gym. The morning breakfast has assorted breads and pastries, cereal, yogurt biscuits and gravy which are totally bad for you but totally tasty. The hotel is located conveniently next to Meijer's. There's a nice running path next to the hotel as well. I'd stay here again on my drive up to MI. read more

Wallpaper peeling off bath walls and a failing microwave ctop. Top it off with the front desk clerk looking surprised to hear our complaints, and u have a $100 rip off. The hotel smelled like a nursing home on the 3rd floor: urine and poop. The "hot breakfast" consisted of old eggs and microwaved bacon. Also the biscuits and gravy looked disgusting. Pros: clean, desk staff very pleasant Cons: Noisy, Manager: rude unhelpful (Mary), overcharged my credit card more than $100. I booked this room the day of my stay. I was able to hear above guests and neighboring guests very easily. My toilet was running on and off all night. I was only able to sleep 5 hours due to noise. I mentioned this to the front desk and it was inferred that they would take a small amount off of my bill for the noisy night. I felt satisfied with that. Later in the day I decided to go back home instead of staying a second night. I was told that I would be charged the full night that I had already stayed plus 1/2 of a full nights stay. This was after not being able to reach them via telephone around noon that day and not getting a call back with an answer. I had to wait in line at the desk with one very kind and overworked employee to get this information. When I asked the employee if I could please talk to the manager she called the manager and I watched her have an one-way conversation (the manager talking and the employee listening). The employee was in tears. Once home I noticed 3 1/2 nights was pending on my credit card. Six days after my stay I saw they charged me for two full nights. I decided to call the customer service/corporate number. I was on the phone for 55 minutes due to holds and explaining the situation at the end they routed me to the manager of the hotel. Once I finally spoke to the manager Mary I found her to be condescending and rude. She also informed me that she was doing me a favor for not charging me for a full nights fee for the night that I did not stay. She didn't listen enough to hear that my credit card was charged for two full nights. I did ask if there was a way to contact the owners and the manager said no. I let her know that I was going to share my experience on Yelp and she said I was threatening her. I feel as if this hotel changed management it would be place to stay. The hotel was clean the staff was very pleasant. The toilet can be fixed and perhaps I stayed on a weekend that happened to be noisier than most. I was taken aback by the way the manager spoke to me. I am a professional, and would never expect the tone in which I was spoken to, from a place that is in the hospitality industry. Perhaps I will choose Airbnb next time! read more

If I could rate the hotel just based on the staff I would give it a full five stars. The staff was very pleasant, happy and helpful. Breakfast area was clean, and the person who made and kept the breakfast items was very busy getting the food organized, making sure there was plenty of it, and keeping the area clean. Breakfast deserved 4 stars, coffee wasn't great and I think not refreshed after morning. But there was plenty to choose from, eggs were delicious, waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, pastry items etc. The menu did not change during our two day stay. She was also very kind. The rooms are small, the pillows are extremely small for bed pillows--they were more like pillows for a sofa inside of pillow cases. The beds however were clean and somewhat comfortable. The microwave, fridge and mirrors, were streaked and not clean. The furniture was dusty. I found a dead bug (at least it was dead) on the bathroom floor. The door to my room did not always lock once closed and I had to keep opening it and pulling it shut to make sure it closed. The pool area is not well kept, It is extremely humid and uncomfortable in the pool room, and the pool water itself is not warm and the water is very cloudy. The pool room smells like they just add chlorine to it and do not balance it properly. You can not see the bottom of the pool floor due to the cloudy nature of it. The tile floor surrounding the pool is extremely slippery and you need not be running to slide around so make sure you wear flip flops when not in it. The carpet really could use a professional cleaning, as it is worn and dirty. The hotel itself seems to be in a safe area however the entrances other then the front entrance do not require the use of a key card to open. If your passing through for travel it is an ok place to rest your head, but if your bringing your family and plan on spending any time at the hotel itself, I feel they could do a better job. read more
