I was a little surprised to see the low reviews of this hotel. It's recently renovated and was SO quiet. They do a little reception in the lobby from 5:30-7pm Monday-Wednesday that's a nice touch. They are located near a large shopping area so there are plenty of options for places to eat and even a movie theater if you're going to be in the area awhile. The food is terrible at this hotel. I've stayed at Staybridges that really go out of their way to put on a good spread for breakfast and the Monday - Wednesday evening social.... This is not one of them. Also this is a poorly "updated" hotel. Functionally things work like they are old, like water pressure and infrastructure. Strange location. It's in an old rundown shopping plaza which was high end at one time . There are a couple shops hanging on, like Beer barrel and PF Changs, both good places to eat. Too bad there isn't a breakfast place and a coffee shop, at least then you'd have an option for a drinkable cup of joe! read more

This hotel is not new, but the rooms are well kept and clean. Complimentary hot breakfasts are also well done. They also have an evening event once a week with free appetizers and $1.00 wine and beer. The cleaning staff are very pleasant and they do a very good job with the rooms and dining area. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The parking lot is ample. My single comment for the management is : why are there no towel racks or hooks for hanging wet bath towels?? Hotels encourage people to reuse their towels but neglect to give them the ability to hang towels to dry--so people have to hang towels over the shower rod against the wet shower curtain or in the closet. Hotel is just outside of Maumee beside a suburban mall -so there are shops and restaurants nearby. A nice large Barnes and Noble shared the hotel's parking lot. read more

As someone who frequents the Staybridge brand, it's becoming more and more uncommon to find one that hasn't been renovated within the last few years, so when I stumbled across this property, and saw the reasonable price, I was a bit skeptical. That skepticism increased when I found out the hotel was actively being renovated during my stay. Despite this, I think I have a new favorite Staybridge. The location is great, tons of things in walking distance and super easy access to 471. The staff are incredible, especially the lady who checked us in, and the lady at checkout who let us extend our checkout time no problem at all. The entire facility was clean and well kept, as was the room. For a room that's about to be renovated, the fact that everything worked perfectly, was super clean, and functional should not be taken for granted. The dishes, save for one glass, were all super clean, which isn't all that common, the HVAC worked well, the shower was well kept, and most of the furniture, while older, was in great shape. The closet doors in my room were a little jacked up but still worked with a little force, so no issues, and the mattress was slightly firmer than I'd care for, but was still very comfortable and will be perfect for many people. Overall, I'd strongly recommend this hotel, and I'm sure it's only going to get better with renovations. And hey, you'll be staying with the friendliest staff in Northwestern Ohio too! (One other cute touch, I loved the little hand written board in the lobby welcoming every IHG Member by name, I've never seen that before and it really makes you smile.) read more

Clean hotel that offers a complimentary breakfast. Right by Falling Timbers mall that is an outside mall and looks like a lot of stores have closed due to the pandemic. They still have JC Penney which in Michigan by me, has closed most, if not all stores. Restaurants such as McDonalds, Burger King, Red Lobster and a few other places are around. There is Wi-Fi and a workout room. This week it was a little crowded but not sure why because this is a small town of about 15,000, and appears to be mostly a working town that offers little in the way of entertainment. read more

This is a fine hotel and we've stayed here so many times. Usually the Front desk agent recognizes us and that's really a nice touch and points out the written room number and doesn't announce it out loud. However this stay has started out on a very sour note. I would like to tell you the young man's name that checked me in September 27, 2024 at approx. 3pm, however he was wearing a light jacket and no name tag was visible. As I approached the front desk to check in a woman and a young child were checking in. As the Front desk agent was handing her room cards to her he verbally and in an average volume voice announced her room number. I was so taken back that he would put her and her child's safety at risk. After the women stepped away, I asked him if he wasn't trained in the fact that you never verbally announce the room number for women much less for any guest. He told me he doesn't usually say it if other people are checking in as well. Ummmm I was standing behind that guest, I was with in hearing the room number. He proceeded to give disrespectful eye rolls and facial expressions as if I was being out of order. I explained that traveling as I do that announcing my room number was a big red flag and I felt unsafe and that he isn't to do anything but point to the room number written down. Again I was given non verbal expressions from him as he completed checking me in. I really felt very disrespected and he wasn't taking my safety request seriously. He asked if I had a floor preference and I said any floor was fine. I should've also further expressed a preference of being toward the end of the hall nearest the stairs. When I found my room he had exacted his revenge, I was given a room at the elevators. This is the first time staying here that the room was at the elevators. I'm anticipating not much sleep this evening when the other guests start to retire to their rooms tonight. If you are a female traveling alone I highly recommend that if this young man checks you in you MUST verbally tell him not to announce room number and be very specific on the placement of your room to your preferences. Hopefully the manager or corporate view this review and takes the proper training steps to correct this young man's attitude and practices. read more

Be careful when you give them your credit card. They charge random charges and when you question them they give you a bogus story and eventually credit the charges but never apologize. I used points for my stay and they charged me $58 and I question their honesty because they only will credited me because I caught them. Came here for the first time in the middle of the week as I was in town for business for one evening it was very easy to book this room online and pricing was fair Upon arrival at 1 PM please note that check in is at 3 PM there were no rooms available and I waited until 1:40 PM The room itself was slightly above average all of them are many sweets that come with a mini kitchen the bathroom set up was ideal as the vanity was separate from the shower and toilet Upon checking into my room I discovered the cable was not working so I pressed the guest services button on the telephone which lead you nowhere in fact only to a busy signal as does the housekeeping button therefore I tried calling out on the phone and that failed as well I had to use my cell phone to call the front lobby only for them to tell me that the phones do not lead to anywhere further that the cable was down but it would be up in the next hour or so In sum a lot of small moving parts that did not come together also I was in a room that was directly above the main entrance and I could hear the automatic sliding doors open and close every single time Parking is ample this place is easy to find and on the edge of a mediocre mall but it's location to work is super convenient read more

I only gave 1 stars bc I had to give a rating. It would be a -9. I booked a 2 bedroom suite. Check in was odd. Front desk girl seemed nervous and stressed. As a social worker, I saw this and was extra polite and patient. Got our keys and headed to our room. Immediately my 12 year old daughter said, "ewww what's that smell it smells like smoke and mildew". Clearly, this room has been smoked in over and over and over again. I started looking through the suite. It was deplorable and I was incredibly disappointed that we had been sent to this room. Dirt on the walls, the bed skirt, part of the ceiling was falling down, hair in the bathroom, some type of red splatter (maybe puke) on the door and a thick layer of dust on the door (pictures attached). Called the front desk and politely shared the current situation . We were given a different room. So we moved again. Get to the different room and it smells a lot better. However, the 2nd bedroom has no tv remote. I walk into the other suite and why is the bathtub filled up with water? Hair all over the floor. I call down to the front desk and again we were offered to MOVE ROOMS AGAIN! I declined, the kids were exhausted. The front desk girl ran up a remote that did work for the one tv in the 2nd bedroom. We have been staying at Stay ridge for years. Never have we seen the rooms in these conditions. Not going to use the bathtubs or showers, will just wait until I'm home. This Staybridge Suites is within walking distance of the brand new Fallen Timbers shopping mall in Maumee, OH near Toledo. Other than that, there's really not much else to do in that area. The only reason I stayed here was that it was a stopping point on a two-day drive to my final destination. However, if you do happen to find yourself in Maumee, OH, Staybridge is not a bad way to go. Meant for extended stay guests (but short stays are allowed) it's a fairly new hotel and the suites are really comfortable. Amenities include: - full kitchen, including a two-burner stove and dishwasher. - LCD TVs in the living room and bedroom - laundry facility - gym - indoor pool/hot tub - business center - free wi-fi in the suites There is complimentary breakfast every morning. And there are receptions for the guests in the evenings during the week with complimentary food and drink. It's fairly inexpensive. I think when I stayed there (granted it was the day after Christmas 2008) it was around $100 including taxes for the night. read more

They give you a paper upon check in that explains everything. Their breakfast is absolutely delicious and pool and fitness room kept in very good condition. For starters, everyone who worked at the hotel, from the front desk staff to the housekeepers were all very friendly and for the most part, would always greet you with a "good morning" or a "hello", whenever you passed them. You've probably also noticed by looking at the pictures, that the hotel is very nice. The lobby is beautiful and if you just want to get out of your room and go downstairs to chill, it features a few sofas, comfy chairs and dining tables. Speaking of the dining tables, the breakfast is top notch, with a full breakfast every morning, including waffle maker, cereal, fruit, bagels, bread, muffins, eggs (sometimes scambled, sometimes egg patties), meats (varied between sausage, bacon and ham), hot tea, coffee, juice (orange, apple, cran), soda, oatmeal, various condiments (including cream cheese, pb, jellies, syrup, fruit & nut toppings for waffles and oatmeal. So, yeah GREAT breakfast. Me and my wife are big on going out for breakfast and skipping the hotel's breakfast, but we stayed in and ate at the hotel all five days we were there. The room was also great. Nice little kitchenette complete with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, nice counterop bar to eat at. The bed was super comfy and soft, two televisions (one in living room area, one in bedroom) and one dvd player which started in the living area and we easily moved to the bedroom. There was a doorway separating the bedroom and the living room, if that matters to you. Great view from the room to. From our room, we were able to see right down into the pool room area, which was great considering we're not THAT sociable and were mainly on vacation to be alone. Therefore we could easily see if anyone was at the pool or not. The courtyard/patio was beautiful too, nice setup and a great place to lounge or sunbathe. Free washer and dryers, which was great for my wife and I to dry our swimming clothes each night (no quarters necessary). Other reviews I read also said that the hotel was noisy due to traffic coming in and out of the Fallen Timbers shops, but I heard absolutely nothing like that Also, one last pro would be that my wife and I left behind an item when we checked out. We didn't realize it was missing until we got home (300 miles away). We called the hotel and they were great, offering to ship it back to us at a cost. Not sure if that's standard policy or not, but they offered and I thought it was nice, because I thought the item was gone forever. Now then, there were definitely some cons too. I think my major gripe would be that the staff, while personable, just don't seem to care about the goings on of the hotel. There was a major neglect to the hotel policies and I really wish they would've been more on point when it came to enforcing the rules. For one, everything I read prior to my stay said that the hotel was a 100% smoke free facility, which made me think that smoking outside in the courtyard/patio would be off limits, but it wasn't. There was a particular guest who was constantly sitting right outside the pool smoking and when we asked the front desk about it, they said that they couldn't stop people from smoking outdoors. I've stayed at other hotels that made me smoke (when I was a smoker) out at the edge of the parking lot, completely off the grounds, so I'm not sure how true that is. Also on the Saturday we were there, there were kids at the pool (which is fine) but they totally destroyed the pool, including tearing up a vent that was on the side and flooding the hot tub!! When my wife and I went down that evening, the hot tub water was even with the floor and when you turned the jets on, it totally flooded out. The staff didn't seem to care that much and certainly weren't keeping an eye on the area, not to mention that the signs said that children under 16 had to be accompanied by an adult in the hot tub and there were many kids who seemed under that age, running through the pool area alone, including in the hot tub. No diving signs posted also meant nothing to anyone, as many amateur divers showed up. Also, another big con is that the hotel isn't really near anything. Sure, it's right beside the Shops at Fallen Timbers (walking distance in fact), but there isn't anywhere in those shops to get everyday items. If you're like me, a WalMart of a Meijer may be an essential store while on vacation, or even a Walgreens or a Rite Aid perhaps. How about food? There are three restaurants in the Fallen Timbers shops and there all high priced, sit down joints. The hotel hosts a social on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but you have to catch that between 5:30 and 7:30p and there's no guarantee you're going to like what they're serving. So what if you want a pizza? or a quick burger, or Arby's or something like that? Well, the ONLY place that would deliver to us was a particular MARCO'S pizza place. No one else. And if you wanted to get to ANYTHING other than the shops, you had to get on the interstate and drive about 10 miles. read more

After some initial misunderstandings about our reservation, manager Mark went above and beyond to make our stay even nicer than we had anticipated. We were traveling with our dog and had made a last-minute reservation over the phone for a room with two beds for two adults and a dog. I was very specific about that because I've traveled a lot with our dog and didn't want any surprises on either side. When we arrived, the front desk person told us they didn't have such a room and that she needed to add another $75 for the dog. We decided to find another hotel, but Mark came along and said no worries, we will waive the fee. PLUS he gave us a lovely two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The rooms were nice and the bed and linens made for a great night's sleep. This place feels a bit in the middle of nowhere but it's worth the extra bit of driving from the highway, and it's a nice quiet spot right near a surprisingly healthy-looking mall. Also great walking around there, which is nice when you're in the middle of a road trip :-) read more

We were in town for a funeral. Our bathroom toilet had "debris". Obviously had not been cleaned, let alone "COVID" standard cleaning. Other guests in our party had a very dirty toilet as well. Another person in our party had trash still in the garbages upon arrival, including chicken waste. The front desk staff response was dismal. The hallways smelled of marijuana. read more

This is a really nice hotel! The staff is really nice . The pool and spa plus fitness center are all really nice! They also have 3 conference rooms. They have an amazing 24/7 shop too! Although housekeeping could be better! For example let's say you want them to clean under your bed, they won't do it unless you ask them! And the elevators are SUPER slow. They have a nice breakfast and dinner. It is nice that it is right by fallen timbers so you can easily find a variety of restaurants and shops! You should definitely stay here!!! read more

There's so much to say about this hotel that I've made two versions. Here's the short version. Staybridge Suites is a wonderful hotel to stay in for a night or many nights. The rooms are updated, the beds comfortable, the kitchens well stocked with clean and ample cooking utensils. The staff is beyond compare. My husband and I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly. Now, here's the long version. We stayed recently at Staybridge Suites for 3 weeks due to a mishap in our home. We lived in a 1-bedroom suite (separate bedroom from living/kitchen area). The best thing about this hotel is its manager and her staff. The General Manager, Karen Braden, runs a great hotel where everyone works as a team. We never ran across "that isn't my job" attitude. All the staff from the front desk to the housekeepers were friendly, courteous and accommodating. Special thanks go to the two wonderful ladies who prepare the buffet breakfasts, Sharon, and Rhonda (who primarily works during the dinner time Social but also helps out at breakfast on the weekends). These ladies are the hardest working women I've ever had the pleasure to meet (and the friendliest). They prepare fabulous meals while keeping the buffet area well stocked and the dining area clean. Speaking of food, we enjoyed a different hot breakfast every day with the normal breakfast additions (which are too numerous to list). The dinner Social (which is held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) also featured a new hot selection each day with a wonderful salad bar that included plenty of healthy options. Dessert is also included. My only concern with the food is that it was so good that I'm afraid I gained a few pounds during our stay! Karen, the GM, is exemplary in her role. Any concern or question we had was quickly dealt with. Her manner was always cheerful, friendly and approachable. Many times she was in the dining area helping to bus the tables while asking everyone if they had everything they needed (I also noticed the person that handles Sales doing this). Once I got up to find a salt and pepper set and there wasn't any available on surrounding tables and Karen was right there, asking what I was looking for. I was momentarily confused by her question and she said that she had seen me get up and walk around and wondered what I needed. When I told her, it was promptly brought to our table. Another time during an exceptionally busy breakfast on a weekend, I found a small table for my husband and I to sit at but it only had one chair. I started searching for another one and the next thing I knew Karen was there with a chair from the reception area, without my even needing to ask. She definitely has her pulse on what the patrons of her hotel want and need. She seriously could teach classes in how to become the perfect Innkeeper. Let's hope the corporation doesn't swoop her up for that purpose because they would lose a valuable asset at this location. Here's some info about the hotel itself. The common areas of the hotel are beautiful. You enter a foyer with the reception desk on the right and a fruit infused water station and a coffee station on the left. Straight ahead is a beautiful rock fireplace. Entering the space on the other side of the fireplace, the ceilings soar 2 stories high at least with beautiful chandeliers and tall, wide windows with a view to the patio and the attached building that houses the indoor heated pool and spa. There are several comfortable seating areas with couches and chairs and one nook has a large screen television. The dining area has several tables that end up alongside those beautiful tall windows. There's also a business center with a few computers and desks/printers, a lending library of books and another nook set off by itself a bit for privacy which has couches and chairs. Down the hallway to the left are the laundry room (free use of washers and dryers by hotel guests as long as you bring your own detergent or purchase it in the pantry), and a fitness room with tv. The swimming pool area is wonderful with the pool temperature maintained perfectly and plenty of towels to use. If you find yourself with nothing to do at the hotel, the Fallen Timbers Mall is across the parking lot. There are restaurants there and also a nice movie theater, along with several shops. You could also take a walk over the walking bridge to the Maumee River and visit the Fallen Timbers Monument that was erected in honor of both the American Soldiers, the native tribes and also the settlers who lost their lives during this difficult time of expansion in America. In summary, this hotel truly has everything you could ever need or desire either while traveling or if you have to put down roots for awhile. For the hotel it seems very clean and normally we really like Staybridge hotels. The staff on the other hand is lacking. Our check in time was 3pm. We initially showed up early and tried to get in and the room wasn't ready. That's not an issue I understand we were pretty early and the room wasn't ready. No problem at all we get it. They said come back at 2:30pm the room would be ready. We showed back up at 2:30 and the room still wasn't ready. Ok still not a big deal I realize we were technically still a half hr early for check in time. They said to relax in the lounge it would be ready soon. Here's where we started getting pretty annoyed. It is now 4:30pm and the room is still not ready. We are now an hr and a half after the check in time and still no room available. We booked this room over a month ago. What ever happened to fidelity? That used to be a good business practice. If you say something will be done at a particular time then you need to make sure it's done or provide some kind of a comp. Update..... 6pm back from dinner and again sitting in the lobby. Still not in our room....this is beyond ridiculous!! Of coarse because this is BGSU graduation weekend (which is why we are here) there are no other vacancies anywhere! 7pm and we are finally heading to our room. read more

Stayed for one night after our previous plans fell through. Very nice accommodations. Unfortunately there were a bunch of cheer girls on our floor, but they quieted up by 11pm. we stayed in a two bed suite with kitchen, and while we only stayed for the beds, the rooms were very nice. nice furnishings, nice appliances, plenty of sheets on the bed (too many for me). The staff we encountered were very friendly and the breakfast was good (waffles!!!). snacks at their little shop were WAY over priced, but the room was priced just right for 4 people. Right in the parking lot of the Fallen Timbers shops (outdoor shopping mall) and a short drive to the Fallen Timbers memorial, which is very nice if you like a short walk outside. I will definitely keep this in mind for my next trip down to the area. read more

This is a so-so hotel in my books. I was here beacuse of 2 bowling tournaments with my Saturday league. You don't get as many options when they serve breakfast in the morning. They don't have pancakes or sausages, which I have thoughts about. I do like the hotel rooms, with the flat-screens. so yeah. I can deal with the coffee being out 3 different occasions before the continental breakfast is up, but the mold all along the hall way wall on our floor was mortifying. I am very surprised to see such an awful view in an establishment like this. It also does not help that my young daughter is very allergic to mold either. I am so happy we were just passing through and that this hotel is not near my residence. Very disappointed in the amount of mold I saw for the price I paid for this room. The location was perfect: quiet and right across from a small mall area with plenty of places to eat and a large Barnes and Noble. The room was spacious and clean and had both a microwave and small refrigerator. The lobby was welcoming and featured a prodigiously appointed pantry area, open all-night for extreme snacking. July 2013: I was surprised and impressed. The room was clean, much cleaner than other hotels at this price point. Of course, I did my obsessive bedbug search, as I always do in any hotel, and was glad that I found nothing. Big room, felt quite new. The breakfast area was much nicer than most, though the breakfast was the same as others. The hotel is right next to a shopping area that can be reached by walking, though it wasn't noisy, at least when I was there. I look forward to going back. read more

they said they had an exersize room but only one machine worked and it was prone to change speeds at willl and so i would have to jump off. when i mentioned this to the generally disinterested staff they said the machines worked fine and i did not know how to use them. what a joke. Never go back there again! The whole place stinks of cigarettes even in the hall ways but the kitchens were good. The neighboring s Restaurant Smoky Bones pipes its music out side alll night so don't get a room on that side if you wnat to sleep well.
