It had been a while since my last wax as I went back to shaving due to inconsistent travel for work so needless to say my lady parts were a little rough around the edges. I'm also Caribbean with really course thick hair that grows in a bunch of different directions (TMI I know). I have to say this was the least painful wax I've ever received in my life, Oksana was so gentle and chatted with me throughout the whole thing and her energy is just super familiar and comforting. I decided to splurge a little and let the staff at A-Studio try to fix me up, and I'm glad I did. I booked a 90 minute massage immediately followed by a facial that I can only describe as a religious experience (Olga was AMAZING and I recommend her highly). I have used Dr. Brandt DNA (Do Not Age) products for almost 3 years, and they suggested trying a few products from their all-natural organic Eminence skin care line. I was never a believer in products that advertised they could make you look years younger after just a few applications, particularly with ingredients that you might find a chemistry set (except maybe for my religious daily application of Retinol that my dermatologist prescribed). I can say this with reasonable certainty, Eminence products are the best I've ever used. My day cream has sunscreen mixed right in, and combined with the retinol, things are greatly improving on my desert-worn face. Check out A-Studio. An awesome spa day awaits you. Two years ago, I started seeing Nicole and Donna for laser and facial treatments and the results are transformational. Both Nicole and Donna are very proficient and knowledgeable. I never have to worry about being rushed, or questionable results. Electrolysis is a long process, but Nicole will always find a way to speed it up just a little by taking an extra zap to make sure that stubborn hair does not grow back and with Donna, trying to remove a skin blemish or wrinkle. I walked in, verified my appointment with Dawn, and instead of getting her, I was passed over to another stylist. What?! Is this even professional? I was told "yes," so I relaxed in my seat although all the time I was disappointed that another stylist, although very good, was still doing my hair. Then my heart dropped. When the stylist finished coloring and highlighting my hair, he proceeded to cut my hair. What??! It's not like I didn't speak up and got assured that Dawn would do my hair! In all my years of going to a salon (and an upscale one), and requesting only for the owner to do my hair, never was I once tossed over another stylist. Kudos to the stylist who did my hair...a lovely person. However, I went to Fiore di Luna, an expensive, high-end luxury place, to get my haircut from owner, Dawn! When the topic was diplomatically approached, I was told by Dawn. "Don't worry..you'll be very happy with this other stylist." May have been very true, but that wasn't the reason I took this trip to Fiore di Luna. Customers who go to Fiore, If you request the owner, make sure you get just that. I was deceived. Perhaps, when Dawn reads this, she will personally call me and make sure my next appointment will be with her and only with her to make up for this expensive but disappointing day.
