Yes I have,they {Dr. Gucciardo) prescribed 25mlg ( twenty-five) of Bethenochol 3x a day to our family member dog. He called in the prescription over the phone to cvs The dog was healthy still playful just had an issue with his bladder control which now I am sure it had to do with the surgery they did. I question that now?? Aside from this new medication Bethanechol the dog was also taking their herbs as well. . Our dog was bleeding from all sides and died in front of the family 2 days after he took the meds Horrific you just can imagine!!!!!!!!! I had a feeling it was the meds he prescribed so i researched the meds Your only supposed to give 2.5-5mlgs and before a dr prescribes the medication they are suppose to run tests on the dog to see if the dog can with stand that type of medication because who knew it was a med for humans but vets prescribe it for pets. I called cvs to check; perhaps they made a mistake no such thing they have it on record,Dr.G called in 25mlg. I called Hampton vet they also confirmed dosage & meds I had them fax me Dr G's prescription stating 25mlgs from their office. Next, my family member spoke directly to Dr.Gucciardo and asked him what dosage he prescribed our dog (this was prior to Dr G even knowing the fatality of our dog) he clearly stated 25mlgs. My family member replied by telling Dr. G "you basically killed our dog" (a mistake perhaps, but a fact indeed). He did not say anything back to him. About an hour later Dr.Gucciardo called back and tryed to retract and claim he prescribed only 2.5mlgs (two point five) So he denied prescribing 25mlg after being informed that the dog had all the horrificside effects due to the meds & dosagewhereby causing the death of our beloved family member(dog). So now just for your information,we called Dr.G on that horrible day informing him that our dog was exhibiting horrible symptoms now in hindsight were do to the meds/dosage; he told us he was closing & to take him to another vet. "NICE" huh?? Our dog died a painful death that evening.. So...now many veterinarians have concurred that it was an incorrect dosage/Meds and basically killed the dog painfully I sent a letter to the Vet explaining the death and their grave malpractice I thought perhaps they would take responsibility and try to do something but instead they have denied the truth that Dr, Gucciardo and Hampton veterinary hospital are indeed in fact, undoubtedly responsible for the death of our beloved.They have forwarded our claim to their insurance company, and are denying the truth and facts. You see folks Dr.Gucciardo knows what he did.The veterinary hospital staff and everyone there Dr. Johnston are all responsible. Believe me this is very painful to have to go through but it will be painful if I don't. I am the voice for our beloved family member and I will fight this to the very end, and believe me I would do the same even if it was anyone else. I am the voice for the voiceless!! !True Pet lovers will agree!! Dr. Gucciardo,you ought to be ashamed of yourself denying the truth, I thought you would behave like a man and at least take full responsibility for your actions.You lack integrity and now I see your true character. Your choosing to lie to yourself & others about your demise. You are obviously going to have a lot of nightmares because that is what happens when you live with guilt from killing a family dog and then go on denying it.You should just come clean. As for True pet lovers that know a pet is not just a pe,t but a family member Don't go to Hampton Veterinary Hospital in Speonk N.Y. Save yourselves any possible heart-ache . Again, Dr Gucciardo I am really surprised that you could choose to hurt our family like this my parents are elderly and you have caused profound anguish to elderly pople who loved their dog as their own family member. The fact that you denied it is what is making it worse... Now the rest of the family have to relive this because you do not take responsibility and have to go the legal route. I know all about the laws pertaining to pets. Do you think that just because dogs are considered property that this will go underground? Just like all the other dogs from your hospital have died and suffered with severe symptoms from other mistakes made by giving them meds after meds like I read about Dr. Wens herbs.?? Dr. Johnston is putting her business and reputation on the line for you because you denied to her that you indeed made a bad call. So because of your pride Hampton vet will lose whatever reputation they have left as a competent animal hospital... the truth is being exposed. So that's all for now folks we are in grief and there is nothing, no amount of compensation that could make up for our loss. our beloved dog is gone..There is no price you can put on a family member. Stay away from this place. They put my dog on meds. Never did baseline blood work never checked him while he was in for office visits for other stuff. Finally after a couple of visits I told them my dog could not walk without laying down and resting. They never listened to his chest. I finally asked for xrays and blood work. They "lost" the results for two days. Finally my dog could not get up and I brought him in. They said he had a raging infection, Pneumonia and kidney failure. We had to put him down. He was only two and a half years old. They are more concerned about pushing their stupid herbals then following medical protocol. There are many other good vets in the area. read more

Dr. Johnston is an extremely sweet and compassionate vet who is very thorough with my pets. I first brought one of my cats to her in January. That cat was diagnosed with mega colon and was in dire shape but Dr. J saved her life after treating her daily for over a week. Dr J was clear what the options were and the costs of each option. That cat is responding well to medication for her condition now and back to her happy self. I also brought in my other cat for sudden weight loss. Bloodwork showed early triad disease, and a pancreatic problem. Luckily, that cat responded quite well to a short round of antibiotics and has gained back some weight. In the past six months, between both cats, I have been to Hampton Vet probably 15-20 times, and I have always had positive experiences with everyone there. The vet techs and Dr J are wonderful and caring. The prices are affordable. The hours are fantastic. read more

When we first saw Dr Wen, we were very happy with him however, when we took Snuggles to Dr Wen 6 weeks ago regarding her issue with having accidents, it seemed the only two possibilities were us adding a little bit of water to her food or a behavioral issue. At the time, he was not interested our thoughts or concerns. Monday, we took Snuggles to the emergency vet in Riverhead after she had two seizures where an x-ray showed a possible mass on her bladder, an enlarged liver and blood work showed elevated liver enzymes. We took her for an ultrasound yesterday which confirmed the results of the x-ray but also showed quite a number of other tumors in her abdomen. Given her rapidly deteriorating condition and the extreme unlikelihood of any meaningful recovery, we made the very difficult decision to put her down. Had Dr Wen looked beyond his tunnel vision of the issue and his suspected cause and listened to us, who knows our dog better than anyone else, the final outcome may or may not have been different but we could have been far better prepared for what we needed to do yesterday. The close to $3000.00 we spent for the emergency care, testing and to euthanize our sweet Snuggles is an additional punch in the gut. Simple blood work or an x-ray would likely have saved us a lot of heartache and we could have possibly sought treatment. Now it is far too late for that. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Wen for over 15 years and I don't know what I would do without him. The fact that he uses Chinese Herbal Medicine to help animals is something I am happy about because he gets to the root of the disease not just masks the symptoms so that the animal has a good chance of healing. He's calm quiet with the animals and that intern helps me because Im so emotional over them. His costs are fair and I believe he is an outstanding Veterinarian and really cares about the welfare of my dogs. He also has helped my horses throughout the years with Colic issues and Laminitis. read more

I have been using this vet for a long time. The staff is caring , and the vets, Dr. G. and Dr. Wen are topnotch doctors. They really go all out to make their patients better. Dr. Wen uses alternative meds, The office could use some updating. read more

I guess I will never know for sure how my dog would have been if I didn't take her to see Dr Wen when I did, but one thing for certain is she won't have been any better. Most likely worse. I was told by my Vet she had 2 - 6 weeks to live and had a aggressive form of lymphoma. So I decided to try Dr Wen because they didn't think chemo would even help her much. He put her on the herbal medication. Right away I noticed a improvement in her bowls which became normal And she gained back weight she had lost. My other Vet told me she had never seen a dog with her type of cancer actually gain weight. She was pretty stable for a few months until finally she got worse. Six months after starting with Dr Wen I decided it was time to put her down. I found him to be honest, he told me at the end the herbs were no longer working for her and didn't even charge me for her last visit. Would I do it again - yes I have no regrets , that was 6 months of time we had together . Dr Wen is quiet but compassionate I'd rather try herbal medication than put poison in a small dog. I could give Dr Wen 5 stars but I am a hard marker - I have no complaints. I am glad I took her there. read more

Listen, I'm not able to say what others may experience with Dr Wen but what I can say is that I have never had a poor experience. Every time I bring my Yorkies to see him, his face lights up as soon as he walks in the room. The focus/attention he puts into these animals while examining them is one of pure joy and passion for what he does. He doesn't rush to run tests or say surgery is required and he isn't nickel and diming anyone. He is truly an animal whisperer. When my vet took X-rays of my dogs leg and then immediately said we need to put her under to "explore" what may be wrong, Dr Wen never even looked at the X-rays but felt both legs and determined she had a torn ACL. Immediately put her on herbal meds with a anti-inflammatory as needed and about 6-8 months later, she was back walking on all 4 legs and has been doing great ever since. I told my vet she was going to him and his sarcastic response was "how is that working out for you", I said great, no invasive tests, no putting the dog out and she is walking on all four legs again. His response was "OH" (after expecting me to say it wasn't working). Yeah, nice try buddy. I wholeheartedly trust Dr Wen with my 3 babies health and respect him for his love of animals. My only regret, is not taking my girls to see him sooner. read more
