I'm not sure that this is a resort at all. Far from it. It's just in name only. Fortunately for me it was on the way south towards Boston and quite fitting for my budget, so I booked it. I was here on a one night stay here in Hampton, New Hampshire. The Hampton Village Resort seemed like a good property to books at the time and I was happy that I did. The pricing per night was a nice budget friendly sub $80/night and it was nice comparable to other properties along the I-95 corridor. They do have a pool and sauna here, but I didn't use that service during my stay. The temperatures were already dipping into the mid 40's F at the time and going swimming outside isn't the brightest idea then. I arrived here on a Monday afternoon, October 17, 2016. The check in process was alright. It was quick and friendly for the most part and the check out process was as quick and painless as well. The Hampton Village Resort, as mentioned before, is in name only. Not to be mean, but it felt like it was a moderately priced hotel with the modern conveniences. Certainly not a resort in the traditional sense, but they were near Hampton Beach, but still, the property itself does not rise to the resort status that I am thinking of. Don't get me wrong. It was a good stay for me. I did enjoy myself, especially with a good nightly rate that offers comfort at a budget friendly surroundings. The overall experience here at the Hampton Village resort can be categorized as being nice and decent, budget friendly, casual. and quiet. The Hampton Village resort is located at 999 Main Street here in Hampton, New Hampshire. They accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing. In the hotel and hospitality, it's probably 99% of payment methods for bookings; but I'm just assuming. They have a private parking lot options available, but it's limited. Best bet is to get here early to avoid not getting a parking spot. The wifi here is pretty good, although it was spotty at times. The resort itself was a modest 3 story building, including the first floor parking, swimming pool, and lobby area. The room key is a little interesting. It's a cross between an old school green key ring and an electronic key reader. I received room 312 for the night and the air conditioning worked, after spending a few moments warming up. The television worked good and the room itself was very clean and the bed was made with perfection. The bed itself was quite comfortable and got a very nice night's rest. It was a nice stay here at Hampton Village resort for me. Thank you for the budget friendly room rates that make it positive for us travel junkies to make it happen. If you are in the area, consider the Hampton Village resort during your travels in New New Hampshire or anywhere throughout New England. It was a nice place to stop after cruising in Maine and I was off to western Massachusetts the next morning for more sightseeing. 3.5 stars for the experience. 4.0 stars for the bed and comfort. 4.5 stars for the price. Support local! B-

This is the king bed room. On the smaller size. Double queen room is pretty roomy. But this is fine.

I've stayed here twice this 2017 summer. I've heard the hotel is under new ownership, from before and there have been a lot of changes. It has certainly been remodeled. Hotel rooms have been very clean, both time. The outside and halls could be cleaned up a bit. However the bargain price makes up for those minor flaws. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pool area could use some updating. I'll definitely stay again next year.

Update: We did not know they had a sauna but they do! Man did it take the edge off after a long day of the bitter New Hampshire cold.

I arrived early, and since my room was ready, I was allowed to check in early, The pool was very clean, as clean as I have ever seen any pool. The water temperature was just right. It's a good-size pool, not huge, but just great for a leisurely swim. The rooms are very clean and very spacious. There is plenty of storage. The coffee maker was simple enough to operate. TIP: you need both remotes in order to use the TV. The front desk will help you. It's a block from the beach, which is perfect. It's close enough to walk to where the action is, and far enough so that it's nice and quiet at night. The rates are reasonable, and I would not hesitate to stay here again. I recommend SURF HOUSE without hesitation. A+

BUYER BEWARE-READ BEFORE BOOKING and learn from our experience:…read moreI'm not gonna sit here and write to not stay at this motel - the room itself was just as advertised, clean, roomy and comfortable, updated bathroom (shower wasn't cleaned well, but that's minor in comparison to the rest of our experience) BUT- do not expect to have any assistance after their lobby closes. They advertise an "after hours number" they DO NOT answer. We stayed here for one night and went out on the strip until around 10pm and when we returned we realized we forgot our key in the room. We went to the front desk which was locked and dark. To preface this I completely understand it's on us for forgetting a key. But, no answer on any of the 3 phone lines provided and one was specifically for "guests only, after hours" after a couple hours, MANY calls and voicemails later, we decided to call the non emergent police line which we were told they were unable to help without permission from the owner - they also tried calling the number they had with no answer either and we were advised to either sleep in our car or book another hotel. We called all 4 businesses they have shown on their building assuming they're owned by the same people, no one was able to help there either. We ended up able to unlock our vehicle from our phone and sleep in it (we had no actual keys as they were locked in the room too) we continued to call the after hours line throughout the night and into the morning but we ended up locked out of our room from 10:30pm to 8am when the front desk opened. The front desk manager (I'm blanking on her name) was lovely, super friendly and apologetic but explained someone else named "dalton" was responsible for the after hours phone and clearly completely neglected to answer. She refunded the cost of our room which was great and gave us a couple gift cards to local restaurants ($35 worth), but really it didn't take away the fact that we had the worst experience in a hotel ever, we would've much preferred to just be able to sleep in the room. Again, decent motel, absolutely awful customer service, if you stay please triple check you have your keys when leaving/you have everything you need before they close.

Must have been a drug party going on by the last occupant? The bed was made when I checked in, but how can housekeeping miss the drugs in the bedside table AND inside the bathroom?? Also, the dark, woodgrain laminate floor was disgustingly DIRTY! My guess is they just sweep only, and hardly if ever, actually wash the floor. I asked the front office if they could do a quick wash of the floor, but they never showed up. Don't make the mistake of walking barefoot on the floor with wet feet, and if you are wearing socks, the bottom of them will turn black quickly. The cold water knob in the shower was frozen shut, and it couldn't turn, only leaving the hot water knob usable, making the shower unusable onless you like scalding water. I asked the front desk if someone could look at it, but nobody showed up. Also, don't try sitting in their cheap plastic patio chairs outside the room, unless you have good health insurance. I really want to like this place, but find it difficult at the present time. 8/23/25

Well, I fail to comprehend what was renovated: the electrical outlets wouldn't hold my charger (it literally fell right out of the outlet), everything was old and outdated, the lock to our room was loose, bathroom racks were rusted, cigarette burns on the tub, etc.

During our stay, we discovered what appeared to be teeth wrapped in a blood-stained tissue left in our room by a previous guest. It was hidden near the window and had clearly been missed during housekeeping. We immediately notified hotel staff, who removed the item. The hotel later acknowledged in writing that the item had been left by the previous occupants and that it was overlooked because a new housekeeping employee in training had cleaned the room. While I appreciate that they accepted responsibility, they never answered our repeated question about what the material actually was. To this day, we still do not know whether it was human teeth, animal remains, or something else. Given its appearance and the presence of what looked like blood, we remain concerned about whether we were exposed to a biological hazard. Equally disappointing was the hotel's response. Their only compensation offer was a "buy one night, get one free" future stay. In other words, to receive compensation, we would have to spend more money at a hotel where we experienced a significant sanitation issue. After what happened, we have no interest in returning. We attempted to resolve the matter privately through multiple emails, asking for an explanation of what was found and requesting a more appropriate resolution. Unfortunately, after their initial response, the hotel stopped communicating with us. Mistakes can happen in any business. What matters is how they are handled. In this case, we were left without answers about a potential health concern and without what we believe was an appropriate effort to make things right. I hope the hotel has improved its inspection and housekeeping procedures so that no future guest has a similar experience.
