People who complain about the spa not being connected to the main facility & sauna not being that good are being unreasonable. Ignore the negative comments. I tasted hers and immediately hated myself because it was so good! I had a really well made rye manhattan afterwards - that guy can mix a great drink! And, the cocktail glasses were so classy! 1 star was removed because I ordered the mussels as my entrée and they came out when I was barely halfway into my soup. That is a big pet peeve of mine as I like to finish my appetizer, sit for a few minutes, and then go to the main course. I don't love it when the main is sitting there getting cold as I'm trying to finish my first course. For that reason, I sent them back. They looked great, so I would really like to go back at some point and try them. The restaurant was really good overall, so I definitely want to come back.

Two weeks later I came upon the error when I noticed an invoice in my Email box for the hotel stay that of course had not actually happened yet. Since I had obviously never arrived, and never used the room, I reached out to the hotel in hopes that they would honor the money I had already paid for the date of my actual travel. Instead, I was told there was nothing they could do, that their "system doesn't allow it", and that unfortunately, I had to forfeit the almost $200 for a room that I never stayed in for a trip that I hadn't taken yet. Terrible business practice for an honest mistake on my part, and as someone who travels to Maine regularly as it's where I grew up, and where many family and friends still live. They have lost not just me as a customer, but an entire family and network.

We never received written or electronic confirmation of our reservation nor the final bill despite calls and emails request it. Management was absent throughout the 5 days we were there. There was just a phone number posted on the locked office door to call. At booking we were not advised that there would be no housekeeping services. Wet, used towels were left for three days when new towels were finally provided. Overgrown bushes blocked driver's view when trying to exit the property onto a well traveled road. Piles of leaves, overgrown grass and long dead branches abound on the property. Balconies littered with dried leaves piles. Lighting and fixtures were intermittent and falling apart. Unfortunately 2026 marks the last time we will return to the Inn. A word to the wise....

We had two double beds and it was comfortably sized (along with a little cafe type table and 2 chairs). The tub is old. Clean but old. Tub and toilet are in the bathroom, the vanity/sink are outside of the bathroom - just for reference. This worked well for us, and can work well for families trying to shower/get ready separately but simultaneously. Location is fantastic. Right across from the gorgeous ocean. Roaring waves, beautiful sounds and sights. I loved the location. Plenty of restaurants, even off-season, to visit VERY close by. Nubble light is in view from the hotel (and is just minutes away by car). Gorgeous. They have a little bar/cafe inside the office/pool building. The bar is pricey in a way that makes zero sense. Bartender, while nice, probably isn't a bartender at all and is just assisting in that area as there was really no knowledge of beverages to make/mix and no rhyme or reason to pricing. No where to sit to enjoy them unless you sit in the pool area which is WARM (heated pool, so it's nice for swimmers) and noisey as all get out if there are many swimming. Pool seemed nice, though we didn't use it (outdoor pool is closed right now due to the season). All in all, we would stay again. Our rooms were ready VERY early (so great) and we received text messages to alert us, so we were able to check in well before our time and we appreciated that a lot.

Right before our 3 PM ceremony, the rain eased into a light sprinkle, and thanks to my mom bringing a bunch of clear umbrellas to hand out, we were still able to have the ceremony outside. It was beautiful. After the ceremony, guests moved to a covered outdoor deck for cocktail hour, which was set up beautifully, and then into the Harborview Room for the reception. Everything flowed seamlessly. Dawn, our wedding coordinator, was incredible to work with. She handled everything behind the scenes so effortlessly that I didn't have to worry about a single thing on the day of. She truly made sure everything was perfect. I would absolutely recommend hosting your wedding here, or even just staying at the inn. It's charming and intimate without feeling too small, the staff is incredibly attentive, and the setting is peaceful and beautiful. And the food? Amazing. Truly next-level. For what I could tell there are 2 outdoor pools, one indoor pool and a larger hot tub. There seems to be a lot of weddings there. I believe like 3-4 a weekend. The grounds were very well cared for and there were different activities throughout the day you could participate in. The location is a little remote which is nice, but hard to explore being that it was our first time in Maine. The food was pretty good for the most part. We liked the food better at The Tiller than Nubb's. The drinks are really tasty, but can get spendy. We overall really enjoyed our visit and stay at Cliff House. Rating would be 4.25

I came back every year because of how kind and friendly the owner Cedar was to me my first summer. Every year I come back she remembers me and Stella! The beach is just across the street -the location is excellent. As some of the rooms are dog friendly, we walked our dog daily on Long Sands Beach. You can walk after 6pm and before 8am on Longs Sands Beach. We walked about a mile down the street to the Long Sands General Store and had breakfast - it opens at 6:30am and was very reasonable. The hotel room was clean, it is a nice place to stay, and the location is great.
