They definitely did not come from a can. That kebab, whew THAT KEBAB, was off the chain and they served it with a red sauce that seemed simple but flavorful with a little kick, I think I ate more bread than anything because I was dipping my bread in that red sauce. We started with the sourdough pita and baba ganoush, which I would absolutely order again. The pita was warm, chewy, and actually had flavor on its own, and the baba ganoush was smoky, creamy, and one of those things you keep eating even after you've told yourself to stop because your entrée is coming. And when they ask if you want more sourdough pita and you say no, just know you're making a mistake and should just say yes. For dinner, we ordered the lamb tagine and branzino. The lamb tagine was the standout for my husband. It has an amazing rich glaze, warm, incredibly flavorful but not gamey, and exactly the kind of dish I want when I'm going somewhere specifically to eat good food I can't make at home. There was a lot going on flavor-wise, but it all made sense. Nothing felt thrown onto the plate just to make it seem more sophisticated. The branzino was the complete opposite in a good way. Lighter, delicate, and really well prepared. Perfect crispy skin. If you're deciding between the two, get the lamb if you want something rich and comforting and the branzino if you want something fresher and lighter. Or go with someone who will share and avoid making responsible decisions altogether. I also had the Sicilian Spritz, which was bright, refreshing, and paired really well with the Branzino. Not obnoxiously sweet, which I appreciate immensely in a cocktail. Overall, Clio knows what it's doing, which is apparent by the fact this is their second location. FOOD : I've been to the downtown location and have loved it, so I knew what to expect coming in but there's always small differences at each location. We started out with the mixed dip plate with a side of sourdough (tip : you can request gf pitas!!). We started with all four spreads and I thought they were all delicious, but wasn't a huge fan of the lentil based dip that is red/orange color, I think it's the muhammara -- just didn't care for the pasty flavor. The other dips were light and full of flavor and I loved how they complimented each other. The sourdough pitas came out cold which was a bit of a bummer as they are exceptional and soft when they are warm. I went with the brazino plate and I am very happy I did! The fish was crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. It didn't have a "fishy" taste and I was really happy with my choice. The saffron rice is a classic and the pairing of fermented veggies on the side only emphasized the fresh, light and delicious flavor. Compared to the downtown location I wasn't as big of a fan overall of the food experience, though I deeply enjoyed my plate. A lot of aspects were not as fresh as the downtown location which was a bit of a bummer. I also got the non alcoholic "wine" which was absolutely DELICIOUS! Tasted like the real thing and the brand/ingredients were top notch. Overall I will definitely get the brazino again and am so glad I went with it. SERVICE : we had a great experience in this department and the gal who was dealing with our table of 10 did an outstanding job and was supremely helpful!
