Been wanting to stop here and finally did recently. I ended up getting the steak Shawarma platter over rice as well as a piece of the pistachio cake to go. I did eat my meal in the dining room, which was overall pretty small but had about five or six tables inside. My dish was pretty good. I'd say four out of five stars and I would purchase that again but would also like to try something different on the menu next time. The staff that I interacted with was very nice and I plan on coming back soon. read more

I really enjoy the food! The cashier was very friendly and helpful. Food came out fast and it was delicious!

II's a shame this place was not more busy when I visited early evening on Saturday. The food is as good as any I had in Israel or Lebanon. Hummus made correctly is NOTHING like the stuff you buy in the refrigerator case at the supermarket. The hummus here (try it with beef) is delicious and served with warm soft, tasty pita. I keep going back for the steak shawarma over and over and over again it is so consistently good!! I've tried the Mediterranean fries as well as plain fries, both delicious. The hummus is out of this world. The service is always nice. Cateus is now one of my favorite places to eat! read more

I ordered from Cateus through Door Dash. I eat Mediterranean, Indian, Middle Eastern food on a fairly regular basis and Omaha has some really delicious choices. Sadly, Cateus is NOT one of them. I'm not sure how anyone could give anything above a one star. The entire order was bland and tasteless. I didn't even know that was possible, given all the wonderful spices in the region. Don't waste your time or money at Cateus. If you want really GOOD ethnic food, choose Maharajah for Indian, Mediterranean Bistro, and Chaikana for Mideastern and of course, for Greek - the best in Omaha, Greek Islands! read more

Excited to happen upon this place. Will definitely be back and will update my review on subsequent visits. Had the lentil soup and the squeeze of lemon made it spot on. The falafel sandwich with garlic sauce was delish. Falafel was tender and crunchy, the wrap was perfect. Ingredients were fresh and bright. ...In a world where Frankenstein grey beef/lamb (gyro) hybrids are passed off as shawarma.... This place uses REAL MEAT! The meat is crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. I ordered the mixed grill from Uber eats last week. Along with the shawarma, the beef, chicken, and kafta kebabs were amazing and fire seared. It was a huge amount of food for the price. The salad, pitas, and side of falafel were also perfect. I went there in person today for lunch and it was just as good and the staff was very nice. No fake meat! No false shawarma! read more

I'm torn about this review, the shawarma platter that I ordered wasn't good at all, the beef had zero seasoning and the texture was off. I didn't even finish it, which is a big deal for me since I love middle eastern cuisine. I asked my wife how her chicken kebab was and she said it was great, I tasted it and it was really juicy and flavorful. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, or the lady cooking had an off day, I do think I will come back and do another review though. For Mediterranean restaurants, I felt like this place had the best mix of price and quality. The rice had a slight cinnamon flavor, and the salad made a very good use of the parsley like a spice. I have driven by several times, since it's behind the Do Space, but I'm glad I stopped here for lunch. Good portion sizes. read more

2 is generous for this place from me. I will have to go back at least once and try it in-store. recently I used GrubHub and had my delivery a bit later than anticipated. Maybe it was the OreIda fries I made at home (they really sucked) or it was the taste of Totino's sausage that permeated every bite of our Falafel. Decided to order takeout after seeing their ad on Facebook and was not disappointed! Servings were huge and very tasty. We shared the mixed grill platter, and added in the grape leaves app, falafel wrap and chicken shawarma wrap. We finished with a piece of kenafa, which was rich but satisfies everyone's sweet tooth. The place is not what you see in photos. Not sure if that's from an old location they had, but this was not it. Tried dining in, but one of the windows was not fully caulked to the frame so it was freezing inside. Then the price of the food for 3, and we got basic plates ended up over $65. The price didn't make sense at all. And the food....just no. How does one make hummus have a burnt wood taste? The rice and meat hardly had any flavor. Worst expensive meal ever. My son talked me into trying this place. I agreed, so in we went. I don't recall what I got, but it was delicious!! My son was just as happy with his meal, and he got a LOT of food. (It's hard to find a place that has enough food to fill him up- Cateus Pita had no problem doing just that!) My sons and I have been back about a dozen times since then. The food isn't fast at all, but I don't want it to be. It is delicious (I love the fries) and hot when it is placed at the table. The last time I was in, the owner asked me to try the masala tea, and I was hooked! It is absolutely delightful- the flavours are perfect, and the tea stays hot for a long, long time. I always order the tea when I go in to eat- I crave it. My family used to go to Adana's, but as far as I am concerned, this place is just as good, if not better. We love the atmosphere- very relaxed and friendly. The music is fun, too, and not too loud. read more

I like to give any new restaurant a while to work-out any issues before I submit a review, but this place needs work. Being a trained former chef in the business for many years, I understand the complexities and complications when opening a new restaurant I went in over lunch (only customer there) and ordered the combo grill plate. The cashier said that the food would be about 15 minutes and hoped that was OK. I figured I was getting something very special if I had to wait 15 minutes while the food was being prepared. What I got was a very unappealing plate of 3 different types of grilled meat, a couple of grilled red onion pieces (wish there was more onion), about 6 french fries and 2 very small containers of sauce all piled on a store-bought piece of flatbread. The spices used for the 3-meat grilled plate was delicious, but that is where the excitement ends. The beef shawarma were pieces of tough, chewy, luke-warm meat that did not seem to be cooked fresh at all. Very tough and full of gristle (I had to vigorously floss after lunch). The chicken (another shawarma I think) was more flavorful, mainly due to the fat that was still attached to the meat. There were a couple of pieces of red onion under the chicken, so I assume were skewered together. The kafta kabob was very flavorful, but I have had much better. All of the meat was served on what I assumed to be store-bought flatbread or pita. You can usually tell the store bought stuff as it becomes more like soft cardboard after sitting at room temp for after 5 minutes. The combo plate was very unexciting and the meats were dry, overcooked and tough...but I did like the spice used. There needed to be something fresh and green on the plate to offset the boring brown and tan from the meat and starch that was basically the meal. The very small amount of sauce (tahini and a garlic sauce) needed to be increased in order to swallow the dry meat and bread. I think the owners and cooks need to make a trip about a mile away to El Basha to learn how to prepare and present this type of Mediterranean food properly. Not impressed and probably won't return. read more

Not impressed. Went with a friend we were the only people there over a weekday noon hour. Hummus was only served with one pita and lacked flavor. Grape Leaves were previously frozen and still frozen and served cold but had good flavor. Friend had steak schwarma and did not care for flavor I had chicken schwarma platter which had good flavor. Sauces served on the side were bland and one of a weird consistency. Will be returning to our go to Mediterranean lunch spot read more

They delivered only HALF our order and when I called to tell them, apparently they ran out of falafel (like what? How?) so i had limited options for a replacement because I'm a vegetarian. Took forever to get the missing food delivered to us as well. Other food was okay tasting at best. Tabouleh was bland. Sauces were bland. Husband got the beef shawarma platter and, for the price, the amount of food was not impressive. Will not ever order from here again. read more

This is probably my new favorite restaurant!!! The Shawarma, both chicken and beef, are amazing and cooked correctly on the rotating spit! At other local restaurants they do not cook it that way and try to pass off a kebob as shawarma. I need my crispy bits!!. The hummus is very good and the rice has a hint of cinnamon but not too overpowering. I recently have been eating low carb and they have been very accommodating by substituting more salad for the rice, pita and fries. Very nice family owned business. My only complaint is they are not open until 2 each day. Maybe they will consider opening one or two days early for lunch each week so I can feed my shawarma addiction more often!! read more
