I don't know why though, this is the first time I had this happen, lol. Anyways, the area I stayed in is across the lake from the flat campground... in the woody area. Overall, I had a good experience. It is quiet and peaceful here. There are other guests staying here as well, but everyone is respectful. Electricity and water are included except for sewer. They do a run once a week with a honey wagon with a fee of 8 bucks. Oh well. Another thing is that there is a rail road next to the woody area and multiple trains go by day and night. I guess you can get used to it, lol. It was a good place to stay at though. The staff is super accommodating and helpful. I would definitively recommend this campground.

The parks residents are living in broken down RVs, some of which are falling apart at the seams. There is no sewer and the dump station was overflowing into the surrounding grass. The cost is $40 and cash only. It's not worth even close to that. I bet the IRS would be interested in all that cash for tax purposes. I encourage anyone thinking about stopping to pass this place and go to another.

There is a swing set and trails to walk or ride a bicycle. A shelter house is handicapped accessible with a party room and a porch with picnic tables. The view of the river here is one of the best. The river is wide. There's a dam that has a good flow of water for fishing. As a kid Dad took our boat through the canal locks which looks like you can still do that. Don't forget a walk to the village of Grand Rapids. It's only .2 miles and it's a destination with cute shops and eateries. A campground and boat ramp are just to south of the park.

We observed years ago that the restaurant should have been developed as a second floor property to properly view Lake Erie. Let's hope that renovations are in order... Soon. Meanwhile a first rate decorator may do wonders with this restaurant. The Lodge and State Park merit multiple visits. Caveat: Lodge is recommended over cabins - Actual Lake Erie views. Several years ago, our Scottish Terrier accompanied us to a cabin, and found mice is walls - she kept us up all night. The campground is very well maintained. The campground is situated around a decent sized, rectangular shaped clean lake, with open fields around the campground, and Highway (Route 6), runs next to it, at the North end of the campground. The campground caters to the seasonal campers here, but it does have limited sites open to weekenders. The seasonal campers that I've met have been really nice. It's usually quite here, a great place to take kids to, as they can't really get into trouble, or go to far away. The lake is clean, with a little beach, 2 floating decks for the kids to play on. They also rent paddle boats and life jackets too. They have a small play area for the kids to have fun in. The showers are clean, they have a small general store/office that usually has what you may need. If not, Wal-mart is only about 1.5 miles away, as are other stores and restaurants. I suggest that you call and make reservations though, because they do fill up on weekends with different events going on in the area. And like I said, they don't have many open spots for weekend campers here, First come~First served.

The staff is wonderful, very helpful and friendly and will go out of their way to help you. They ARE very pet friendly, (we have two cats and a dog) you just have to clean up after your pets and keep them on a leash. The bathrooms are clean and air-conditioned. The grounds are very well maintained and they have pump out service for a small fee (if you get a site that doesn't have septic) and RV service and repair. They installed our new air conditioner and did a fantastic job. They also have fun events here. We will be staying here every time we come to Ohio. Don't be fooled by a poor review. This park is awesome. You should definitely check it out.

We are adults here and know that a new camper does not get damaged all by itself! We trusted you to do a job professionally and you failed miserably. Yes we are the Bauser's that had the new warranty fridge work done at your so called place of business. Did I say NEW WARRANTY WORK??? Meaning new camper!!! Us as adults are telling you that your service people messes up our camper inside wall from the fridge installation and must I remind you we are the customer! And you call us and tell us your people done nothing and there is nothing you can do about it??? Us being the customer and knowing we have a new product with no problems with our camper when we let you have it to work on it an now we have damaged walls done by your people. Do you understand this now or do I need to say it again? Now I do know personally some others that have had their campers also messed up by your place of business. Does this sound like a rerun to you also hearing if from others who trusted you??? That means that your track record is not real good on messing up campers at your business. I can also send a copy of email to corp Coachman and let them know what kind of business you are running here along with one to the BBB plus plaster a copy on facebook and Yelp. There's a pond for swimming paddle boat rental. Horse shoes bags basketball and a playground. You can rent golf carts to go on the trails or just drive around the park. Pet friendly. Truly the nicest people we've ever met at a campground. Everybody waves and stops to chat.
