At first, I mistakenly took my car to another shop (affiliated with a local Toyota dealership, use your imagination) for a quote. It was a battle just to get them to look at it because their online appointment system offered me a Saturday time that didn't exist and when I called, I had to call back multiple times until someone picked up in the shop. On top of that, I was obligated to wait a week before they would even look at it. Long story short, I was given a quote and left feeling unsatisfied, but I booked a date for repair and paid for the parts. During the time I was waiting for the date of my appointment to arrive with the Toyota dealership body shop, I had my oil changed at Smith Imported Car Service in Louisville. I told them about my issues, and they immediately referred me to Don Otts. Right there in the waiting room of Smith Imported, I called Don Otts and set a same-day appointment within less than an hour. Could not be easier! I brought my car over to the shop that day and had a quote, along with the bad news about my previous quote (a lot of after-market parts that were not for my make and model.) Without compromising on quality, the price Donny gave me was competitive along with a promise to use only Toyota parts. Donny had to go out of town for a week, otherwise I could have left my car at the shop for repair as soon as my parts came in. (Contrast with the Toyota dealership body shop where they said I would be lucky to have the work done by early November when I visited in September.) Here's the "happily ever after." Once the ordered parts came in and Donny gave me a call, I had my car back in just 2 days. It was looking beautiful and shiny again. I swear, these guys have a time machine. It wasn't an insurance claim, and I was paying out of pocket. Mayden was about the only shop that seemed to understand my needs and was willing to work within my budget. And when repairs reavealed some previously repaired damage that complicated things, he didn't drag me down a rabbit hole in terms of cost. Instead, he gave me a solution that met my needs and fit my budget. You don't see that type of cooperation, honesty and integrity much these days. What a find!
