I felt like having a bagel this morning so I decided to stop by. They open at 6a. The have a wide variety of bagels to choose from, there bagels are big. I wanted a mini bagel and I noticed they have different flavors of cream cheese so I was leaning toward olive cream cheese. There was a line so I had a chance to glance at the menu and I did see they have mini bagels but it didn't indicate what kind. When the cashier asked me what I would like to order, I asked for a mini bagel I was informed they only have plain. I always skipped going in each time I go to next door optical office for a visit. Not today. I finally walked in and placed bagel and spread order. I picked half dozen of sour dough, sesame , raisin, pumpernickel bagels. Holy moly! Their bagel size is the biggest I have seen. A piece is shareable by 2. Tastes good and would say better than bagels at my local bagel shop. Chewy but crunchy in the outside.Their salmon spread is delicious as well. Pricing is reasonable. This place offers more than bagel. They offer sandwiches , coffee, cold drinks, snacks, candies, meat , cheeses and spreads. It's like a delicatessen to me. I've been wanting to try this location and it definitely delivered! When it comes to hand rolled bagels I always say the earlier the better so you can get them fresh. I ended up getting a raisin bagel with cream cheese, and they were not skipping with the cream cheese at all it was so filling and yummy! While I was there I also noticed they had so many different coffee beans on display. Next time I'm absolutely coming back to grab some. Even though it was busy, the service was pretty fast and the staff handled the crowd great. Plus, logistically it was a breeze since there was a lot of street parking right outside. read more

I'm not exactly sure what happened with the quality here but needless to say it's been very disappointing lately. There are very young employees working here (I'm assuming students)? which is fine & all if they weren't messing up...every single order. I understand mistake here & there we are human but to burn virtually every bagel is a bit ridiculous. Love this spot. The bagels are so good. The iced coffee is also great. The big issue is the wait. I ordered online at 9:22, it said it would be ready by 9:55, that's 33 minutes. I ordered 2 bagels (one with cream cheese and bacon and another one BEC) and 2 iced coffees. 33 minutes and still not ready. I finally received my order at 10:06. I'm sorry but over 40 minutes for 2 bagels is wild. Next time, I will just come in person instead of ordering ahead. read more

I was there today 4/17, aside for the long and slow moving line, I noticed everyone was wearing gloves handling the bagel which is good except for the person who is dealing with the take out. If you haven't figured it out by now, this place sells bagels. They are huge and base on the foot traffic in and out of this business, there a huge turnover of products. Translation, you get fresh bagel's every time. The service is a hit or miss. I have ordered on line and had to wait past the promised time, not because it wasn't ready but because there was no one to hand over the food. The other time, we walk right in and receive prompt service. Big shout out to Ben who seems to keep the flow of orders going when he is working the front desk. Pros- Plain bagels were good. Soft, fresh out of the oven, and good size. 4/5 stars. Cons- Cashier/server was not attentive. I asked for two bagels toasted with butter and jelly, and one non toasted with CC. She proceeded to ask if I wanted it toasted since they were soft. Fair question and I said yes. I came back home to find the bagels weren't toasted (room temp w/o toasted bits). I also ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on a whole wheat everything bagel and it was disappointing. I don't want to say "as a NYer...." But imagine 90% bagel with literally a cm of egg, cheese, and bacon. I was shocked that you can even call this a BEC. I also asked for ketchup on the BEC and of course no ketchup when I got home. Final nail is that I ordered an everything whole wheat bagel and of course that's the bagels with fruit flies on them. I get gluten free bagels, so my review is about that only. I went yesterday right before closing at 2pm and had a plain one with butter. Good texture but it had a slight taste of onion, which could be because it's heated up from frozen in a microwave, then in an oven. Today I went after 9am and had a plain bagel with scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. Again an onion taste, the turkey bacon was a little too overdone for my tastes, eggs were good, probably cooked on a steel griddle. I wasn't really in a rush to get to work because I'm here on vacation. If I was I wouldn't be too pleased because they were not really moving at a fast pace and if I had to catch a bus or train to work, I'd be pissed at how slow they were moving. My gf was at the hospital for a check up and I got to check this spot out and oh man it turned out to be amazing plus they had her favorite so I got her the blueberry bagel which not many carry or have many off. Sadly the service here has gone downhill.Wether ordering online or in person- the order is never correct or consistent except to be completely wrong. The taste of the bagels is still great- but multiple times of mistakes and return orders or being disappointed after waiting so long for an order only to drive away and have the overpriced mistake in your bag. It's well known that Long Island has the best bagels, but HRB has the best bagels on LI. So so fluffy on the inside and a little crisp on the outside when you toast it. You know when you bite into a bagel sandwich and all the contents spill out onto the other side? That is virtually impossible with these bagels. They are so well made that they can hold any type of filling be it cream cheese or eggs or meat. When you bite into it, you get every layer of your sandwich and it stays put. It's so special that they are able to make that happen! I like how they get really specific with your order like how you like your eggs and if you want anything extra on top. They made my eggs over medium perfectly! Also the coffee- They have coffee ice cubes and you can choose how you want it made. We love the banana nut with hazelnut creamer! Get it dark! *beware, they are ALWAYS crowded in the mornings, especially on the weekends. If you're looking to order ahead, give yourself an extra 10-15 or expect to wait. The wait is well worth it. Just work with it. I've noticed that a lot of people will be waiting and even catch and attitude to the staff that is constantly swamped and doing their absolute best. To these people I say: your lack of planning is not the staff's fault! Get it together, folks! If you wanna see a grown man throw a tantrum, this might be the place.
