Nice little Bagel and sandwich shop in Franklin Square. The bagel was nice and warm and crispy. No need to have it toasted. I forgot to ask them to scoop it so I'm living with the extra bread I normally would have removed, but it was good. It was gushing cream cheese, which was even more than I needed, and I like a lot. I had enough for two bagels! The ambiance was busy, lots of in and out traffic with a few tables for eating in. They have a variety of beverages to accompany your meal. The service was quick. They attitude of the staff was short and too the point. Not real friendly, but it's a bagel shop so I didn't expect more (even though a smile and freindly demeanor goes a long way). Ambiance and wait staff: this place really deserves a 3.5, it's a hole in the wall, not fancy, pretty outdated and plain, the staff behind the counter, is okay, some of them are really good and then others really are bad! Food: we come here for bagels and breakfast sandwiches. I've gotten many types of bagels here, the one thing I really love is that they have sunflower seed bagels, they are awesome! They also have some good egg everything and cinnamon raisin bagels as well! I usually get a bagel with cream cheese, I know pretty plain.. they have a few different types of cream cheese available and can make any type of egg sandwich. I have been coming here since the store was turned over from a donut store and these are the second owners. Yes prices have gone up but the bagels continue to be excellent. Awesome bagel spot! Been coming here since 2016. My only complaint is that sometimes they are inconsistent with what they serve me. I've had times where they've over-toasted my bagel, or the lox they give me isn't what they normally give me but the inconsistency doesn't happen very often. Maybe once every month or two. They ALWAYS have people coming and going. The lines are never ending. I always get either one of the below bagels: 1) Lox/CC/Lett/Tom on an Everything or Onion bagel toasted 2) Lox, 3 egg whites, lett, tom, avocado on an everything bagel 3) Tuna Melt with American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, on an Onion Bagel toasted. My favorite aspect about this spot is their customer service. The staff there always treat me like family whenever i come in. Heck, when i call in my order, than already know who i am and know what i want, its awesome! As long as i am working in the area, this will be my go-to breakfast joint. The Dr. has prescribed a BEC on a croissant and I'm not mad at him! The line is insane! A good sign because the bagels are super fresh! The people at the counter are incredibly friendly and the service is flawless. The line just keeps coming all morning long. Personally I always order the same sandwich. The croissants are large. Big enough to hold two eggs, bacon, cheese, SPK. Perfect. But everyone comes in for the fresh bagels. The smell of everything bagel is in the air. I like the dinning area. I think the Bagel Doctor needs to have his license revoked. Why do these bagels require a doctor? Probably because they are bagels of sub-par quality. I had an everything bagel that was not fresh or hot and barely had any seasoning. I'm normally used to a bagel that is hot right out of the oven but this one was cold and started to flatline on me. The taste was just ok--a little bland. Tasted mainly cream cheese rather than the bread from the bagel itself. This place could have been good. There was seating. That's always a plus. There was a bathroom but the bathroom was disgusting. The sink had to be supported by two steel poles with duct tape on them. Obviously that was botched job by the medical team. If you have a bagel emergency, you best steer clear from this bagel ER. Their prescription is a bagel that is average at best. read more

The only reason I know about this place is because of reviewer Jennifer M. I usually go to the famous place in Franklin Square... but decided to give this place a try....I don't have to worry about getting hit by a car because it has a parking lot. I've been here 3 times so far and the bagels are very good. Their cinnamon raisin bagels have the sugar and cinnamon and juicy raisins that this type of bagel should have. They are much better than the famous place's cinnamon raisin which doesn't have a detectable amount of cinnamon or that crunchy sweetness it should when you toast it. They seem to have a nice selection... wish they had blueberry though. Don't get me wrong... the famous place makes very good bagels, but I think I like these a little more. And the prices are good... not like so many overpriced bagel places today that charge a dollar a bagel... it's still only 80 cents a bagel and maybe the owner will give you some free bagels if he's about to close. read more

Absolutely the BEST COFFEE in Franklin Square and the known universe! The bagels come in about a dozen varieties and are made fresh and ready to enjoy starting at 5:30am; the breakfast sandwiches are second to none made by a great staff of workers. The bagels are hot like A&S Bagels and they do give more filling which is great. The downside tgough is that most of the bagels are burnt and the coffee is not great. They are a good choice just gotta ask to see the bagel before they cut it open. They are also a little cheaper. Quick and efficient. Ordered an onion bagel with scallion cream cheese as well as an onion bagel with nova lox and cream cheese. Prices are good, theyre fair. Everything tasted great. Also ordered a huge apple turnover for 1.50, which was pretty good. Not many places in the area just give it to you straight. Theyve got like a milliom people behind the counter. Me and my gf decided to sit and eat. Tables and chairs nothing fancy but we noticed that the line never ended because a ton of people kept coming in and they got what they wanted quickly. I'm not from Long Island but as a Californian currently living in Boston - this place is amazing. I can't believe that bagels can taste so good at such a reasonable price. After going to A&S for years I was very stubborn about coming here to have a bagel, but my friend insisted. I was pleasantly surprised! The only bagel I ever get is plain, with butter; I HATE cream cheese. Anyway, the bagel was perfectly soft and the butter was melted into it, which made it awesome!!!
