Yet another bagel store here in New York being run by people who have no idea how to make bagels; not sure if they're even made on the premises. I swear I think there should be a law that says these kind of places should not be able to call themselves bagel stores.I don't know, maybe bodega or maybe convenience store or maybe just delicatessen. One thing is for sure, if you're coming for a good bagel, go elsewhere. The only reason I came here is because the other store a mile away had a broken oven and no Bagels today. While I haven't been to NY Bagel in years (I moved to TX) I recently ordered bagels online. The service and price were amazing! No delivery fee, included in the price. Placed the order on Sunday and had my bagels Wednesday. They were fresh and delicious!! I would highly recommend ordering for them. read more

Oof. Some businesses insert "bagel" into their name when they should use other terms like "fried bacon sandwich joint" or "potato chip haven". New York Bagel Stop hasn't quite figured out yet what they want to be when they grow up, but I don't think it's a bagel shop. There are a few desperate selections (see pics) of both bagels and cream cheese as well as some egg sandwiches choices. But navigating the ordering process is like stumbling into a vintage Keystone Cops episode: three people behind the counter bumbling into one another, phones going off, general confusion and an insistence on the customer repeating every order 2-3 times. By the time we were finished ordering we just wanted to flee... which is just as well because there is no seating. But there are protein bars! Half of an entire shelf is devoted to them. The food isn't even worth the buy, the lady wouldn't wear gloves and not only that but I found a hair in my food. They don't follow NYC 3-1-1 Food Standards. Bagels here are actually pretty decent above average. And $1 each (no CC) makes them much more reasonable than hand rolled up the street. $2.50 with CC. However I was disappointed by the breakfast sandwiches. $4.50 for a BEC (can add coffee for $0.50) makes it an appealing deal but sandwiches themselves weren't very good. I been looking for a good bagel place since my old favorite bagel shop closed down in Woodside, Queens. This place is not bad they have specials for breakfast until 10:30am everyday. I got there around 10:45am and paid $3.75 for a sesame bagel w/cheese and eggs. For me that was pricey because I never paid more than $1.50 for a bagel even with my editions at my old bagel shop. The owner was really nice, she was definitely friendly. As for the bagel it was good and fluffy. I have this thing with bagels they have to be big and fluffy. Delicious bagels and friendly staff. We've been to a number of bagel shops in the area to find the best one and this place sure fits the bill. The bagels are always fresh. We get ours toasted so it is always perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They have a number of cream cheese flavors but our favorite has to be the scallion with lox. We love both flavors - what a brilliant idea to combine it! The only caution is with the lox - at times it can be a little to fishy and overpowers the bagel. read more

Stopped by on my way to the bank, and it is a lovely quaint bagel shop. The service is so friendly and the ladies are sweet as can be, I would return for that alone. They have a solid variety of bagels and some interesting cream cheese spreads! I walked out with cranberry cream cheese, and it was fantastic, highly recommend it. We've been coming here many times a year and the place is totally consistent with service and outstanding bagels. The croissants are fantastic. Coffee is good.
