Reached out to Charlie about our pool not being cleaned thoroughly and not vacuumed as we have watched tech on camera. 2 weeks in a row this occurred so I called and told Charlie we would like a different tech and he said either he would change the tech or come himself. The following week rolled around and same tech came. I messaged Charlie and got no response. Every time they come to clean we have to put our cleaner in the pool. We requested to cancel and are now told we have a 1 year contract and have to pay 35.00 a month for the remaining months. So basically with this company if they don't do a good job and you are unhappy your screwed. Don't sign a contract with these people or you will be frustrated and stuck. We have been told either keep the contract or pay the 35.00 as the customer service is horrible and they don't care about the customer. read more

I will have to have my pool resurfaced due to the terrible people that work there. After continued complaints and pictures showing the horrible job being done the person that works for them threw chlorine tablets in the pool that stained the surface as retaliation. Now the surface is stained from the lack of cleaning but also from the chlorine. When I asked them about the damage they said they would be happy to clean it up for a price. I was disgusted by this reply it was your people that caused this the pool was brand new. read more

I have used Brian for years to do repairs and maintenance on my pool and am very disappointed in his practice of not standing behind the equipment he installs. We had about $1700 of work done in June 2015 which included a new pool pump. It had a 12 month warranty and needless to say it died in week 2 of July 2016. He initially would only offer a 10% discount on a new one, what a joke, but then agreed on cost of a new pump. However he still wanted to make his money on installation, seals and gaskets and finally agreed to 50% off the installation (which he charged me $85 initially for). Well I figured this was the most he was willing to do and agreed to have it done. The final bill was emailed and I was charged the full $85 and not half?? I called and talked with Vickie who could do nothing. Brian finally emailed me and said installation was normally $170 so $85 was my part. What?? That's not what we agreed to! Needless to say I paid about $325 for a new motor to replace one that lasted less than 13 months. I will not be using Handcrafted Pool Care again and all my neighbors will know how greedy Brian has been. read more

:( We signed a contract with Handcrafted Pools last year, service was good for a while, then they switched service days from Thursday (right before the weekend - great timing for us) to a Tuesday. We called to see what other days were available and they said Tuesday was our only option. With the pool being cleaned on Tuesday, by the weekend, my husband has to clean again before the weekend so we can use the pool. We asked if we could talk to a manager since we signed a contract and the service dates were not expected. He continued to tell us that Tues was our only choice, even as a paying contract customer. We asked if we could cancel our service agreement since they could not meet our schedule, they told us no, we would have to buy out of it... Their customer service is horrible and service of our pool has gone down since we called. The tech at the beginning of the service would be here at the house for 20 mins with great work. Today, I ran to pick up some lunch (fast food) - left at 11:50 AM (no pool tech at the house) and was back to the house by 12:02 PM. When I returned the tech was locking the gate and leaving (he was there for less than 12 minutes tops!). I stopped him and asked if he was finished and he said 'yes, already done'. I went to check out the pool - leaves and dirt still in the bottom of the pool and some floating on the surface. I ran back out front and stopped him before he drove off. I told him the pool was still dirty and we pay top $$$ each month for the pool to be cleaned. He said 'I will clean for you, but it is going to rain this week and it would get dirty again.' I told him if he comes to the house to clean, he needs to clean the pool - that is what we are paying for each month. He then told me 'Oh, I told the front desk lady at my office, you need to trim one of your bushes so I can walk all the way around your pool.' I told him we are not timing our bush until it stops blooming. I went back to the pool, cleaned/vacuumed and left after 10 minutes. So, since we can't cancel our agreement we have to continue to live with their sub-par service . Would not recommend signing a long term agreement with Handcrafted Pools. :( read more

On August 5th of 2013 we signed an agreement with Hand Crafted Pool Care for weekly service on our pool. The first couple of weeks went by and we started to notice that the pool was not as clean as we would like, but decided to wait to see if it improved. Normally they come during the day when nobody is available to see them perform the work. On September 25th my wife and daughter happened to be home and saw them perform the work. According to their records, they were at the house for 20 minutes and performed the full service. My wife timed them and they were at the house for no more than 5 minutes. They added chemicals and skimmed for a minute. They did not vacuum at all. After they left the pool was dirty. Algae continues to be a problem even though they say they treat it. We contacted the owner and told him our story and he said that he believed his guys and basically called my wife a liar. I don't want to get into a he said/she said with the owner. He defends his employees and that is his right. I know what my wife saw and the status of the pool after the "cleaning". Maybe other technicians at this company are better; but we were totally dissatisfied with this company. read more
