Two weeks ago I got a text from KJ She said she was sorry for the bad experience I had with Brian. and I am on the schedule for next week (which was last week) During the 2 and a half months I tried to have them out she always said someone would be out next week. needless to say no one ever came. This has to be the most unprofessional unknowledgable business I've ever dealt with. They pushed a particular robotic pool cleaner on me to buy. Which was over $1,000. Four months later it's in their hands to get fixed. They had it for two weeks and the repair guy hasn't even touched it because he had no idea how to! Imagine that. Both pool lights went dark and after discussions with another service provider, Brian was open about options. Jimmy showed up to install the new lights and I was told it will be a 2 hr job. One of the lights had rusted and was difficult to remove so 3 hrs later, the job was completed. Jimmy had also done a little extra to repair my problem and ensure the light was secure. He was extremely polite and knowledgeable and when done, he cleaned up everything. Great service and communication and even though it took longer, they were committed to my cost remaining the same as I was told. The honesty, customer service and price was exceptional. Pinch a Penny took care of our pool weekly for 8 months. When we signed up we were told "the only thing you have to worry about is the water level" so that's all we worried about. What a joke that was! The guys coming out each week have no idea what they are doing, our chlorine production on our salt cell was set to 0% and they couldn't tell us why our pool didn't have chlorine. Later found out that our salt cell hasn't worked for a while because it's so old! This was never brought to our attention as an issue. The few times I called the office with questions (if I wasn't put on hold or hung up on) I was greeted with attitude and felt like I was an inconvenience for asking them to do their job. Stay away from Pinch a Penny. They are unreliable and should not be taking care of pools. read more

Got a advertisement from Pinch a Penny stating that chlorine and other items were on sale until June 5th. Went there on May 24 and a girl said the sale ended already. I told her I thought she was wrong, but she didn't think so. She dug through a drawer of a couple of minutes and found the card that said sale until June 5. She didn't apologize or anything. I can't help but wonder how may unknowingly customers didn't get the sale prices. ITS NOT UP TO THE CUSTOMER TO KEEP PINCH A PENNY EMPLOYEES KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE STORES PROMOTIONS. read more

If I could rate a 0 I would. Staff is rude and irresponsible. Paid for services and had to call every week for a month to get anyone to do anything when my stuff was sitting in the store. They didn't even knock and tell me my equipment was leaking after they worked on it and they just left. Called them and they said they would come back.NEXT WEEK to fix their mistake. I have some minor plumbing repairs needed on my pool. I set up a quote on or about 10/4/2022. They agreed to come out on 10/11/2022. The day came and went. No show. Called the office around 4 and was told the repair guy would still be out to do the job. Again, no-show. My wife called on 10/12/2022 around 9:30 and was told we were scheduled for that day but could not give a time because the repair person was not in yet. At 11:33, a young lady called to tell me we needed to reschedule for the following Tuesday (18th) because they did not have a common junction in stock. We gave them a week to have the parts and they couldn't come up with one? Really? I canceled the appointment and will go elsewhere. read more

When I went on vacation for a week and a half and came back in my pool was green I was a little upset so I went to the local Leslie's pool store right across the parking lot to see what I needed to get it fixed. After spending 30 minutes of my time talking to the lady she told me I would need $180 worth of pool supplies just to get the green out of my pool and that my levels were off the charts. As I was leaving I noticed there was a Pinch a Penny Pool patio spa right across the parking lot and decided to stop in. I brought a sample of my pool they told me that the levels weren't too bad and they could get me fixed up for $25!!!! The owners were super nice super helpful and I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me everything under the sun. Highly highly recommend them if you're needing anything for you for pool or spa. I visited this store last week to purchase some chemicals to treat a hot tub at my friend's house that we were house-sitting at. Since I don't personally own a hot tub, and my friend was unable to be reached, I was a little bit at a loss on how to adjust the chlorine and such, and I wanted to be sure the hot tub was safe to use. Brian and his staff were so helpful and patient, and took extra time to make sure I understood exactly what to do. We were able to safely use the tub, which definitely added an element of relaxation to our vacation. I highly recommend this store and will be back any time I am visiting Mansfield!! read more

They came out and cleared up a massive algae bloom, shocked the pool, cleaned all baskets and strainer. I'd recommend them to anyone. Great company and people.
