Lomilomi is completely unlike that style of bodywork. Rather, it's relaxing and pain-free, while still providing benefit. Camille doesn't rush me in and get my on the table; we sit and talk together for some time before her work begins. We talk together after, too. Her appointments allow 2 hours, rather than just 60 minutes. I experience very frequent panic attacks and anxiety, and I have been nearly panic-free since seeing Camille March 2nd. That's no small thing. I contribute my shift significantly to Camille's work. Camille is a creative, strong yet gentle woman, and I highly recommend her and the Lomilomi practice. I feel her style is very effective in healing my body and allowing it to also heal itself. I always enter feeling some kind of soreness or pain, and leave feeling like I am on a cloud. I love the transformation my body seems to have made since coming here. I really appreciate that she is quiet and we both can just do our thing - I can enter full relaxation, and she is in her healing zone. I can hear people giggling, shouting, loud bangs and sudden loud noises that made me jump. I could barely think or relax. I thought the window was open to some alleyway but it's just paper thin walls I guess. The massage itself was mediocre and I would rate at 3 stars. The first 15 minutes was her stepping all over me with her feet and using her knees to dig in to my back and legs while she wiggle her legs. This was not comfortable and hurt in all the wrong areas. She then proceeded to use some oil and finally massaged me with her hands and sometimes her elbows. Her style of massage was quick and rapid pulse pushes with her hands and fingers and I really dislike that style. I prefer long deep presses which is more soothing and relieving to me. At times she would receive a phone call and talk to her customers while massaging me at the same time (this happened twice). Or she would sort of shout out behind the curtain when new customers who walked in. This is very unprofessional in my opinion. They have many stations for manicures, pedicures, massages, and foot reflexology. When I saw their list of prices and I was surprised by how reasonable they were for their location. As a bigger person who has been walking on the treadmill and working out Orange Theory up to 5 times a week, my feet have been killing me, so I got a foot reflexology massage. To say my feet feel better than they have since I can remember has been an understatement. I plan on going back to Mulan Spa for more feet massages, and to make it part of my regular health routine. Her massages have helped relieve my shoulder, back, knee, and TMD pains over the years. I also often go to her after strenuous physical activities (eg races, backpacking trips). We always talk about what I'm needing before the massage starts, but she's also skilled at identifying the areas of my body that are tight and tense and need more massage work to focus on. I always leave feeling less pain and soreness! I tend to like deep tissue therapeutic massages as opposed to more gentle relaxing massages, and this is what Naomi provides for me, though she is always able to adjust her pressure level when I ask. Also, I love her new location, and I've been to her since she reopened after temporarily having to close during the first few months of the pandemic. I work at a hospital and take a high level of precautions at work and in my personal life, and Naomi's level of COVID-19 infection prevention is impressive! The spa itself was calming as soon as I walked in. It was quiet, smelled nice and was well kept.
