I have done 2 Hands to Heart CPR/AED Classes 2 years apart. I need them in order to hold my Personal Training Cert. Each class I took was very helpful. I had done another class somewhere else and it was a joke. The teacher didn't care whether we knew the material or not and rushed through everything. The most recent class at Hands to Heart I had Nicolette Vallejo. She was great! She took time to make sure everyone understood the material and wouldn't move on until each person could do each step of the process. I took a refresher course today, along with my co-workers, and it was the best CPR/First aid class that I've ever taken! Our instructors were A.J. and Maggie. They both made sure that all 16 of us in attendence,understood what was being taught, and then we practiced CPR on the mannequins, and then were given a hands on test. Easy to find and sign up for, they offer many classes on a regular schedule. I was able to fit in my pediatric cpr training on a Friday but they also have weekend classes to accommodate any schedule. Great Class! I needed to renew my CPR Certification for Nursing School. My school (Mount St. Mary's College) recommended Hands to Heart. I've taken CPR classes before and they're usually long and boring. I called Hands to Heart and left a voice mail. AJ, the owner, called me back within 15 minutes. I signed up for an evening class a few days later. Class was surprisingly small, only 5 people. The class had a nice pace and was actually a lot of fun. AJ is extremely knowledgable with a great sense of humor. He makes sure everyone understands the procedures. I highly recommend this class to anyone who needs CPR or First Aid Certification. Seriously - don't bother going anywhere else. I also need a First Aid Certification and will definitely take it with AJ. read more

Worst CPR class I've ever had. I've been in the medical field since 1999 and have participated in multiple CPR training courses. I have never experienced a class this fast and unorganized. The course facilitator, Jose, provided no context or guidance to why we were doing certain things. It seemed like he was trying to fly through the information, skipping many things that would be basic to a trained individual that would not be to the lay person. There were at least 4 people in class who had never had a CPR class before. Many of the retesting individuals questioned him or even disagreed with what he said, and he would seem to dance around answering. When someone at the beginning of class simply asked what an AED was, he acted like it was a big secret and said he would explain it later instead of simply telling them what it was and moving on. In regards to the AED, too much time was spent on it. Not every facility or location even has an AED, especially homes. The first response should always be skilled CPR. I will not come back to this location and will think twice about recertifying through American Heart Association. read more
