However, he did not speak any English. How disappointing! I probably should have stopped there, but I didn't and I regretted it. It was too hard to communicate even the most simple words. We had to use a translator app which takes away from the time I'm paying for. I believe if you're going to charge $50 an hour, and the state minimum is $7.50, you should speak English. If you don't, you need someone with you that does. I had a series of tasks and every conversation required the app. The performance was excellent for some tasks and others were a bit disappointing. I was trying to patch some holes in the wall in the paint did not match exactly. He painted all the holes instead of just doing a small part and getting my approval before moving forward. Maybe we lost something in translation there. Now I have uneven colors and I'll have to cover with a painting. I'm giving it 3 stars because I feel that announcing that the worker does not speak English should be business practice for transparency. A paying customer deserves that. I paid them in full and made my comments known. If you only have one task, perhaps a translation app is okay. In my case, we had several and the constant need to record and play made it for a long afternoon.

He pressured us for a down payment, then refused to take check, Venmo, or Zelle--only Cash or Cash App, which was suspicious. After being paid, it took a week just to start, and when he did, he showed up late, left early, and constantly canceled with far-fetched excuses. We finally had to threaten legal action, and only then did he send someone else who finished the job in five hours. Dishonest, unreliable, and misleading.
