A club I belong to recently started using this storage facility to store our signs & supplies. It is about a mile away from the storage unit we were previously renting and it is such an improvement! There are dozens of units in a multi level building. The lights are on sensors in the hallways so they automatically go on when you enter the particular hallway. The price is much better! We are going to save a few $100 compared to a similar storage unit in Plantation. They have lots of parking available & there is easy access through a main front door. (No need for an electronic gate that takes forever!) The facility is well maintained and it is conveniently located off of Pine Island & Cleary Blvd. They have elevators & flatbeds available so it is easy to transport bulky items. It has been a godsend for us so we're hoping it will work out for years to come. read more

Let me give my honest experience about Handy Storage in Plantation. This business is very shady. There were many red flags when I first looked up the business online. First of all, all the good reviews were unsupported, but the bad reviews had many "thumbs up". I still went with them against my gut feeling because of convenience. That decision was met with nightmares. The manager had an attitude problem from the get go, and they had a booklet contract, that was thick like a notebook, for a simple storage agreement. Another red flag was the "insurance". It kept mentioning insurance like it was almost expecting you to lose your belongings. I initially reserved a 10 x 10 unit confirmed in e-mail. The manager showed me a 10 x 10 storage unit. When I told her that I would take it, she took off Handy Storage's lock and we proceeded back to the office to finalize. I moved in my belongings, and about a week went by. I checked in on my storage, and there was a lock on my unit which looked like Handy Storage's lock. I proceeded to the office and the manager had an attitude saying that she rented me a 5 x 5. The Plantation Police was called, and during the report, she admitted "I have some of your belongings here on the compound, but I don't know about the other stuff." She admitted knowledge of my belongings and walked away unscathed Scott-free. Contacting the "Regional Manager" was only met with replies of "Do you have Insurance?". Your stuff is not safe at this storage unit. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Do not do business with this company!! I lost everything!!! read more

EDIT 1/6/2022 I don't care if you gave my mother three months free for someone being disrespectful to her, I don't care if we get all of 2022 off for free. I am not putting boxes in my car with ants. What a disgusting location and a disgraceful staff. They really want you to have a problem with this place. I cannot wait to leave this horrible location and get a new storage shed. Still one star. DISGUSTING ORIGINAL 12/2021 It's the holidays "post the end of the world" and this year has been incredibly rough due to my mothers cancer diagnosis, it's been incredibly tough on her body and things have been really hard for her. She has had an ease to do things that during the holidays, pre-diagnosis and post diagnosis things are hard. When we were running stuff to and from the shed this year we found ants in one of our boxes. No one needs to take a box full of ants in a car when there is a dumpster on site that shouldn't have been a problem to use. We've been storing here for over 10 years and we were met with such ugly energy from whoever was working there today. We simply asked if there was a way we could dispose of a box, and the energy and "service" that was given to us was beyond subpar. You've lost a loyal customer because you don't know how to be kind to people when they need kindness, after the holidays we will remove ourselves from our unit and take out stuff to kinder pastures. It's beyond me that a simple request during a time of need could be met with such negativity, the man that was there wasn't a man. What a joke of an establishment. read more

From Mr Texture Inc to Handy Storage Staff, One of the things that convinced me to sign a contract with them was the possibility of parking my tow truck and the trailer that I use every day, but when I entered, the manager prohibited me from entering the tow truck, claiming that this was not allowed (The person who gave me the information never mentioned that and even said that it was possible) in addition to that, they told me the trailer should have insurance (which they never told me at the time of signing the contract). After agreeing not to be able to park my tow truck, they gave me the opportunity to insure the trailer and provide the document until January 15th as deadline. Yesterday, January 12th, I sent the documents and the manager with a bad attitude, rude and racist told me that Handy Storage is not longer accepting me as a client and I should vacate the warehouse as soon as possible. When I arrived in South Florida I needed to place my things in storage and this location was five minutes from where I lived. I rented a 10X15 space in the climate controlled building on the second floor. I received a code to access the elevator up to my unit. My things were there for 7 months and I had no issues with security or bugs/rodents. The inside is very clean and there are cameras everywhere which adds to the security. Al and Fred have been an absolute pleasure to deal with since i moved in here 6 years ago. They go out of their way to accommodate my needs. Lend a hand when ever the need arises. I have stayed here even though the rent goes up every year because of the personal service these to gentleman provide. The property is well maintained by them and their staff.
