Every horizontal surface is perfectly level, every post is true vertical and the gate operates smoothly and the gaps are even and no rubbing, i cant find anything out of spec. He sunk the posts in cement and nothing is loose or wobbly. He cleaned up the job site to where it looks like it's been there all along. On the inside of house we hired him to build strong metal bird cages for our parrots, they were assembled quickly with a minimal interruption. Finally, we hired him to rebuild a brick paver sidewalk and the finished product was much better than the original installation was done. The gaps between bricks are tight and level. We are lucky we found Ed and will have other projects for him to do. Other good things about him are that he is very reasonably priced, and he is self motivated. He arrives on time and gets to work quickly. He comes prepared with everything he needs and keeps us informed on the progress. You will be happy with his workmanship

However, he did not speak any English. How disappointing! I probably should have stopped there, but I didn't and I regretted it. It was too hard to communicate even the most simple words. We had to use a translator app which takes away from the time I'm paying for. I believe if you're going to charge $50 an hour, and the state minimum is $7.50, you should speak English. If you don't, you need someone with you that does. I had a series of tasks and every conversation required the app. The performance was excellent for some tasks and others were a bit disappointing. I was trying to patch some holes in the wall in the paint did not match exactly. He painted all the holes instead of just doing a small part and getting my approval before moving forward. Maybe we lost something in translation there. Now I have uneven colors and I'll have to cover with a painting. I'm giving it 3 stars because I feel that announcing that the worker does not speak English should be business practice for transparency. A paying customer deserves that. I paid them in full and made my comments known. If you only have one task, perhaps a translation app is okay. In my case, we had several and the constant need to record and play made it for a long afternoon.
