Inquired about door replacement, he told me to text him, I did, and he did NOT respond at all.

SOME PLUMMERS JUST WANNA RIP YOU OFF…read more Called up this plumming company back in mid June this year to get an automatic water shutoff valve installed on my main water line. You know, one of those fancy wireless valves that homeowners insurance companies want their customer's to install on their homes? Yeah, one of those. Anyways, I called and spoke to a man, who didn't give his name, but he was nice enough to get all the info and give a time and date for a plummer to come out, inspect the work requested, give an estimate, and go from there. The day of the appointment, no one showed up at the date and time discussed. I called and spoke to someone named Alma. She was nice enough to have a plummer come on out that same afternoon. In the afternoon, some guy named Vincent shows up. We spoke about the worked I wanted to have completed. The job was simple. I was supplying all the parts. The copper pipe, fittings, the soldier and flux... Oh, and the fancy water shutoff valve that already cost me $550. For a "simple install" Vincent quoted me $1550!! The $1550 was for labor alone!Ridiculous! Ha! Moreover, Vincent's recommended install of the automatic shutoff valve would have replaced the physical brass ball valve functioning as my current main water shutoff, and be placed before the water pressure regulator! Ha! Some plummer this guy was! What a quack! The instructions of the auto-shut off valve directs installers to install the valve AFTER the water pressure regulator, and to be installed as a backup water emergency shut off (NOT to replace or be used as the home's main water shut off). I was happy to have educated myself before calling these useless people to my home - not knowing beforehand that they were useless crooks to begin with, of course. I kindly escorted them off my property instead of accepting their far fetched estimate. I was not about to allow them to rip me off. Beware of these plummers from Anthony's Plumming. Some just want to rip you off and create future plumming problems for homeowners... just so their victims can call them back for a solution to the problems they create under the false premise that they put in honest and professional work to help a customer out. Crooks!

After some trial and error, I've finally found my go-to for different services... And for plumbing service: Fred and Sons. They've been out to our home twice now, and we called them again because our first experience was fantastic (see my first Yelp review!). Today was no different--communication was seamless, pricing was clear and upfront, and scheduling was hassle-free. They even rescued us on short notice for a semi-emergency. If we ever need plumbing help again, Fred and Sons will be our first call. Highly recommend!

I messaged Freddy yesterday about my issue and he said he would be out here first thing this morning. Like clock work he is always on time and I can say always since this is the 3rd time I have used him since I found him in 2020 during COVID. I had him look at a couple other things for me while he was here and without hesitation he did. I also had him flush my water heater that he installed for me 2 years ago. He is HONEST & RELIABLE & VERY THOROUGH and explains everything so you have a complete understanding of what he is doing and what you are paying for. When it comes to the plumbing in my home which is old I won't even look for anyone else. He is my go to. Now back in March my 77 year old aunt who does not have YELP was selling her home and had a plumbing issue. I told her like I tell anyone else call Fred & Sons and she did. He got right out to her seen her issue and also her place is old and outdated he fixed her plumbing. She thanked me and said how good and professional he was. I have attached a picture of my ugly faucet before he fixed it. And one after of the beautiful work he did. Excuse the hose I had already pushed the fridge back before I snapped a picture. But good quality clean work! Don't shop around Fred & Sons is your Plumber!

What should have been a straightforward thermostat reinstallation and programming job turned into a nearly week-long ordeal defined by poor communication, lack of preparation, and zero follow-through. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was thorough. I mentioned the building is two storeys and that the technician would likely need a long ladder to access the rooftop compressors. I also specifically requested to be contacted directly if anything changed or if unexpected costs came up. Simple enough, right? The day of the appointment, the technician was scheduled to arrive between 10 and 12 PM. By noon, no one had shown up and no one had called. I reached out myself, only to be told he was running late on another job and wouldn't arrive until 2 PM at the earliest. A courtesy call would have gone a long way. Instead, I sat waiting with no update whatsoever. When he finally arrived, there was no direct communication from him either. I had to ask my tenant to pass along a message to have him call me. He confirmed the issue was exactly what I had described when booking: a thermostat that needed to be reprogrammed and rewired. Progress, finally. Or so I thought. A short while later, my tenant informed me the technician had left without completing the job. The reason? He hadn't brought a long enough ladder to access the roof, the very thing I had flagged when I made the appointment. The next day came and went. No technician, no call, no update. I later learned he was unwilling to go onto the roof without a second technician for safety reasons, a policy I can respect, but one that should have been communicated to me immediately and not left to surface on its own. By Friday, I called customer service to get answers. I was told they'd call me back once they heard from the technician. Three hours passed and nothing. I called again. Same answer. Hours later, I called a third time. Still the same response. I eventually gave up, called another company, and they resolved the issue the very next day. As of writing this review, I still haven't received a single callback. Not an apology, not an explanation, not even an acknowledgment that any of this happened. At this point, the message is loud and clear: they simply don't need your business. And after this experience, they won't be getting mine.
