Asked a few more questions if I need to drop them off or will they do them there. She mentioned $7.00 and they will sharpen them while I wait. Showed up today, and she is hanging with her with two young guy friends. They mention that they do not sharpen skates, but will soon. ????? What? How is that suppose to help me now? They did mention that Gateway hardware does sharpen skates, and is a 5 minute drive down the road. They gave me directions and basically ended up on RT 20. Now googling the address for Gateway Hardware, it is in West Springfield, a 20 minute drive and in the opposite direction. I am sure they had a blast messing with me.

We did not have an encounter for this one, but noticed that you could purchase that. We ended up buying cones field with feed for the animals, such as the donkey, goats and the horses, and they have a nice feeding area, so you can pet and feed them as well. The education Center was unfortunately closed, and the gift shop is tiny, but there's more than enough to do at this little zoo It only took us about an hour and a half to get through all of the exhibits

When we asked if there were any other visitors we were told no one else in the past hour. Admission is a fair price for this small zoo that had plenty of animals to keep us interested for a couple of hours. It was nice to see the bobcats active and the monkey swinging around. Lots of peahens and the peacock was fun to see perched in different places. We were amazed to get a symphony of howling, yapping, barking, neighing, and other animal chatter while we were there. The staff in the Education Center was friendly, alert and readily answered our questions about the animals. If you like feeding the animals, buy a cone of food at the admissions booth to feed the hoofed animals. Careful when feeding the goats. I was taking a picture of my daughter feeding a goat and I was within reaching distance of the goat who craned its neck over the fence and swiftly chomped on the cone of food. I was startled but it was quite hilarious.

My kids grew up skating here, and I'm sure my grandkids will too. This is a state-of-the-art facility. Anyone bashing this place either hasn't been to many other rinks or doesn't realize how good we have it. InterSkate 91 stands above the rest. The prices are fair. Running a facility like this isn't cheap. Just my home's electric bill is around $500 a month--I can't imagine what it costs to keep a rink like this running. On top of that, they have to pay employees and maintain the building, all while giving local kids a safe, fun place to spend their time. So kudos to InterSkate 91 for continuing to invest in our community and giving generations of kids a great place to skate and make memories.

Had a wonderful, first curling experience there…read more One of my friends found this alumni event for people from Queens University in Canada and although neither him or I went there, we decided to essentially crash it so we could play curling for four hours and eat some food from Redbones who catered the event. After everyone arrived, about 28 people I think, we were all taught the basics of the game. Having watched curling during each Winter Olympics, I was quite familiar with most of the rules. I had always wanted to try it out; this was the perfect opportunity. This club is about 75 minutes away from Boston and is 50 years old this year. It's very well managed and the staff and the members are very friendly. They have two ice sheets that are extremely well maintained and the club area with some couches, tables, chairs and a full bar is neat as well. They even have a nice fireplace that they had going while we were there. They have a big parking lot outside, although it's not fully paved. The drinks at the bar are cheap, $3 for regular beers, $3.75 for premium beers. Cocktails are $5 I think and they also have a few snacks. After a few drinks, we were broken down into smaller groups and taught how to curl, sweep and the scoring. Then we were once again broken down into teams of 4 players, and went on to play games (4 on 4). It was a lot of fun and the members of the club were there to guide us along the way, pointing out tips, tricks and guiding us along the way. The most important thing that I learned that day was that although curling is very easy to learn, it is extremely difficult to master. It was an absolute blast and I think that I just might consider joining a curling club at some point in the future, but one that's hopefully closer to downtown Boston. Curling is awesome!
