He was so knowledgeable about skydiving. I was his 17,999 jump. It would have been cool to have been his 18k jump. While in the air he was explaining how to look for birds soaring in vortex in order to be able to gain altitude. We found one and It was cool to experience the lift up. This was my first skydiving experience and I loved it. After buying a groupon and making reservations we showed up on a sunny, but cool morning with the understanding that it might be our last day being alive cause we were preparing to jump out of a friggin plane. Would have been an awesome way to go out though. After checking in there is a small wait before people get called into the Waiver Room. Basically you watch a 30min video about the risk of splatting into a bunch of trees and telling you that you are signing your life away for a broad range of situations from slipping on a banana peel to your chute not opening. This is all scary but you you will understand why it has to be done. Gotta mitigate that risk of lawsuits. It is still a business. Once your name is called they do a great job in getting you set up and dressed in some neon bright jumpsuits I always say, "If It Isn't Neon It Shouldn't Be On". And I must admit, kind of weird having a dude strapped to my back. I know some of people who might get turned on by that sort of thing, but I would have much rather preferred a hot chick instructor with some boobies pressed up against me. Still a mad fun time jumping either way. Kieth had done over 5,000 jumps so obviously he know what he was doing. Just stay positive and be prepared to feel like you are flying and it wont be scary at all!!! I ended up paying for the video package (Extra $130) to have someone film me and take pics. Obviously, sounds expensive but you get awesome footage of you free-falling mid air. The production quality is pretty sweet as well. FB friend me if you want to see it. When you arrive, you must prepare to wait for a while. They aim to accommodate everyone but sometimes weather conditions don't hold up. It probably isn't the smartest idea to jump out of a plane with strong wind gusts or lightning present. I suggest bringing some food (they also have a small cafe) or other activities to do while waiting with your groups. There are also a ton of dogs on site that make the wait much more tolerable. Toby is adorable. You will know which pup that is the second you get there. Had such a great experience with this and will now be going again in Africa this summer. 8 of us did our first tandem skydive this past Sunday! I cannot say how amazing the experience was!! Everyone who works here are very professional and friendly. Our appointment time was 11am and while on our way there, I got a phone call from pepperell skydive. They said the wind has picked up and we might not be able to go!!! That's definitely a no-no I'd been feeling anxiety the whole week and I cannot wait any longer. We decided to go to wait out and see if the wind will die down! Lo and behold, the wind did died down and we were the last two planes to depart for the day!!! The moral of the story is patience isss a virtue! My instructor was Keith and he is amazing and funny! First time skydiving, it is close by (less than 40 miles from home) so I asked my nephew if he would like to go. We went on a Wednesday afternoon. We checked in, paid our remaining balance. We had to watch a video talking about the contract that had to be singed prior to our jump. Seven pages of initialing, signing and promising not to sue! We watched the video as well and got us ready for next adventure. Next was the dressing in the harness. We met our tandem jumping team. We got suited up and we arrived to our plane to take us up 10,500 feet. We got up there fast and before we knew it, it was time for our jump! In a word, INCREDIBLE! Do it if you have the chance. Great experience! These guys run a very tight ship! I felt safe, even after being scared half to death by all the initial paperwork! My instructor, Shawn (Sean? sp?) Was freaking amazing! I had a mild freak out in the plane, and he calmed me right down. The jump out of a plane and the free fall were spectacular!!! The only thing that surprised me was nausea that set in right after the parachute deployed. I fought real hard not to puke all over my wonderful instructor! Thank God I didn't! I had an awesome first jump with Lian the other day. I brought along 3 other people and each loved their experience. Lian had a great sense of humor which helped a lot with my nerves and matched my sense of humor well. The instructors prioritize safety and are all very complement. I'm glad my first jump was here. I will be back! For those trying to figure out if they should jump..do it! I am petrified of heights. I get very nervous on planes and refuse to go on roller coasters/carnival rides yet I was somehow able to sky dive. I couldn't stop smiling, screaming and laughing all at the same time once I jumped out of the plane. Get your head in the right space..keep motivating yourself and just face your fears. read more

This was my second time skydiving. Went yesterday just for the hell of it, with a friend who had not only never jumped before, but never been on a plane. The staff was friendly, down-to-earth (skydiving puns? I'm sorry) and made the experience super enjoyable. My instructor Keith was informative, kind and just overall rad. I would recommend anyone wanting to skydive to visit Skydive Pepperell. The tandem jumper I was assigned (Russ) was amazing, explained everything I needed to know and made sure I knew what to expect. He also kept checking in to make sure that I was OK. His excitement was contagious! The actual jump was something I've never experienced before and it was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I opted for the full video package. The videographer was funny and exciting and personable. When I saw my video had not posted to You Tube I called and was told there must've been something on the camera lense because my video and photos were blurry. They offered to refund me my entire cost however I still, after 11 days (initial charge 8/20/22) have not received any response despite contacting them via email and voicemail. Unfortunately I had to dispute it through my credit card company. I will never be able to fully document my first jump! WHAT A LET DOWN! I did a tandem jump Saturday, June 8th with Tim Halliford, who literally had my back. It was... like nothing else I've ever experienced. Not scary. Not all YAH BRA LET'S DO THIS!!!!! It was simply falling out of a plane because you wanted to fly into the atmosphere and enjoy the view. No sensation of falling. No sense of HOLY SHIT THE GROUND IS 10,000' BELOW!!!! No. You're just flying. And you want it to last forever. And that 35-45 seconds before the chute deploys and you are just ripping through the air while you grin because you can't believe how amazing it all is - is not describable. When at last the chute does deploy and the wind rush ceases and it gets quiet, you then become aware that you are a terrestrial being. You feel your weight again and the pull of your harness as you hang suspended under that gorgeous technicolor canopy. Then you can absorb what you see! You can see the curvature of the earth WHILE YOU ARE OUTSIDE!!! Feel the sun on your face from thousands of feet off the ground. Your motions dictate your path. Maybe this is where you want to stay. But gravity is gonna call you down, but so gently and politely. There is no hurry. And then the airfield comes into view and the "ground rush" starts happening but it is still very chill and you know it will all end well because Tim has your back. And then it does end, but your grin stays. And then you move on. And your grin stays. read more

i enjoyed my trip here sky diving was amazing , the workers were amazing the only thing that bothered me was that we were told to be that @1 then they told us to come @ 12 .. and we literally did not even get called till about 5/5:30 not sure why we kept getting jumped but i hope they figure out a better system for that. when your paying about 275$ to jump i don't feel waiting 5 hours is okay. and had they atleast communicated and said hey i'm sorry if you guys got pushed back you have about 2 hours we would have went and ate because we were all starving. when we got there was about 2 other groups the. all of a sudden people started coming out of nowhere and we're out before us. but overall it was a great experience. read more

I survived jumping out of a plane in their hands...how could I not give them 5 stars?? AMAZING!! You can tell that these people LOVE their jobs. When you're jumping out of a plane, you want to feel comfortable and my tandem Brian (Ody), sister's tandem, the videographers and overall staff were so energetic, personable and encouraging. I could not rave enough about the staff here--they do multiple jumps a day but you will feel like their only one. I also like how open the area is so you can bring friends or family if they want to watch you or wait for you or talk to others who are waiting to skydive as well. On the ground they help you get harness and make you feel comfortable and the whole time with the staff I felt excited to jump and at ease from my jitters. Something to note though is that I wish it was better organized in where to go and when at certain aspects of the day. I felt like after I signed the paperwork I was unsure if that was all I needed to do before the jump. Also when waiting for the video of my jump I was a bit confused. So, be prepared to wait since there is only one plane and only so many tandems. I also do wish there was better organization around when you would be jumping/order they were going since my anticipation was really building. We signed up for the 1pm time slot and did not jump till about 3:30 or so. That being said, there were always people to talk to and it went with their chill, "lets do this" lifestyle. July 17, 2010: I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane for the first time ...and it was AWESOME!!!! When I tell people that I went skydiving for the first time, I get the "YOU'RE CRAZY!" look, followed by a series of questions: 1. Was it scary? Honestly, the only scary parts were signing the agreement forms (yes, I understand that skydiving can be dangerous), and the few seconds before stepping off the plane. I think my heart jumped out of my chest first. Here's some reassurance: Pepperell's tandem instructors are experienced, having obtained all required licenses and jumped over 500 times, some at 5000+ times, but who's counting? And the equipment is high-tech (i.e. auto parachute deploy if neither of you can pull the cord). 2. How did it feel? Absolutely wet-my-pants exhilarating. Think about it: free-fall at 120mph for about a minute followed by a short float to ground while enjoying a panoramic view of Northern Mass from 10,000 feet up. 3. How was your tandem instructor? I prefer to call him my new best friend actually. Dalton was a nice, reserved kind of guy, and not the "rock-on" type I'd expected. Silly me to think that all skydivers would be cuckoo. His procedures were simple to follow and I'd give our landing a perfect score. Props to my video/photographer Phil who was great at capturing all the footage and giving them to me in a timely matter. Photo quality came out great too. Though he did make me do some dorky poses like blow kisses and salute to the camera... meh. 4. How much did it cost? Was it worth it? I got a great deal from groupon and paid $149 (film/video *not* included). Definitely worth it but can't give 5 stars. After landing, Dalton unattached himself, got up, and just walked away... wait, what? When I returned to the apparel area, no one helped me to remove my harness so I just undid it myself. Then I had to ask for my official jump certificate. Last note: upgrade to digital camera - no one develops film anymore! 5. Any tips for newcomers? - schedule early morning appts for typically clearer skies and shorter wait time - expect to be there for 3+ hours, which includes checking-in, safety video, paperwork, lag time, and waiting for mother nature to be in a good mood - eat a snack from on-site food shack then grab a drink from the $1 vending machine - don't forget to pee before you go ;) - guys, remember to: "keep the furniture inside the room" ... the harnesses were tight down there - request to do a front- or back-flip exit out of the plane - let your instructor know if you cannot handle motion sickness well, otherwise prepare to be spun 360 degrees - really fast - a few times - pay $135 extra for your film and video... it's proof you're cool :) HIGHLY recommend (tandem) skydiving once in your lifetime. Leave all your doubts and fears on earth, let Pepperell's highly-trained instructors do all the work, and just have fun in the sky. I did my first jump on 7/13 at Pepperell (yah know, b/c Friday the 13th is a great day for jumping out of planes), and couldn't have asked for a better experience! My instructor Keith was the coolest dude ever: funny, knowledgable, and about 7000 jumps deep. When you are essentially putting your life in someone else's hands, it's nice to know that the odds are in your favor. Granted, I was still peeing-my-pants scared when I lined up with the plane door, but Keith made me feel comfortable and confident that nothing would go awry. The best part of my jump was after we pulled the parachute. Keith spotted a hawk, and we followed him to ride the air currents, like flying. So cool. After landing, prepare to be chock-full of adrenaline. I literally could not stop smiling. I always said I wanted to skydive once--and just once--but after such a great experience at Pepperell, looks like I'll be tempting fate again some day! Tips: -If you call and ask permission, you can camp at the airport. They have outdoor showers and port-a-potties. -Bring something to read. You will probably have to wait a couple hours before your jump. -They have a snack bar that serves lunch, in case you need immediate celebratory-meal gratification. read more

My first skydiving endeavor was this past Tuesday, July 24, 2012. As someone who is initially terrified of heights and planes, it's safe to call me crazy for going for this. However, it was my best friend's 25th birthday, and Skydiving has been on my "Bucket List" since I was little. I have learned to enjoy life and do things that may be classified as "crazy." This adventure, by far, was the most eye-opening and amazing experience I have encountered in my 24 years of life. Skydive Pepperell not only has state-of-the-art equipment (each pack costing around $10,000!), but the instructors and tandem divers are laid back, informative, and relaxing; especially to those jumping for the first time. Luciano and Keith were my tandem diver and my photographer. Both hilarious, friendly, and amazing! They really make you feel comfortable and joke with you to take your mind off of the fact you're jumping out of a plane at 11,000-13,000ft off the ground at 120mph. It is usually $235 dollars for the jump alone, and an additional $135 for photos and video. However, they offered a Groupon (LOVE GROUPON!) that made the jump $139. AMAZING! The video and photos, although seemingly pricey, are definitely worth it to document your first jump. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of safety, skydiving, parachutes, landing, planes, etc. They will not let you jump if they feel it would be potentially unsafe, even if you're already in the plane. Also, they do not play around with jumps when it comes to the weather. They take every precaution and have never had an incident (knocks on wood). The experience in general is simply unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life. There is no "G force" so you don't feel that stomach-dropping feeling like on a rollercoaster or an elevator. It honestly feels like flying. You aren't thinking about "oh, I might die." when you jump, either..lol. It is an experience that is both fast-paced and adrenaline-pumping, but almost calm and serene. It's beautiful. You can see for miles; mountains, Boston, surrounding scenery..it's breath-taking. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SKYDIVING AT LEAST ONCE IN YOUR LIFETIME!! read more

I really was disappointed with this place. My first jump was in Aruba, and from there you'd think I would be disappointed but I went to Skydive New England in ME after and they are BY FAR the best! Pepperell was next on my list and I will never go back. My instructor was the most unfriendly, miserable little man who had no interest in anything but making out with his girlfriend. I love skydiving and am addicted but this was an awful way to spend my Saturday. They make you look ridiculous in their stupid hats and barely interact with anyone. Biggest issue: the plane only takes you to 10,500 ft. If you've gone in ME or outside the coutry, you will know why this is SO disappointing for the money you shell out to do this. Do yourself a favor, head up to ME or anywhere else for that matter with a fun crowd, great video/pics, and a longer freefall. This was bush-league compared to others. Lastly, they give you undeveloped film for your pictures.. REALLY!?!? What a joke. read more

i jumped out of a plane at 10,500 feet. less than one minute later, i was at 1,500 feet. i'm writing this review, so, obviously, things went alright from there. i like to think i was pretty calm until the door of the plane opened. the next few seconds ... did not go well. don't mind the kiddie pool, the people who look like they're about 16 packing 'chutes, the random pieces of broken office furniture, lawn furniture and car seats strewn about the yard near the airstrip. you're jumping back into a trailer park, but it's going to be ok. the staff here, from the folks manning the office to the rather intimidating attorney describing your possible (and possibly imminent) demise, to the folks getting you suited up & conducting your "ground training" (about 2 minutes of "do this, do this, DON'T do this, listen to your jumpmaster. all set? go jump!"), to the fine folks you might soon find yourself strapped to jumping out a plane, are all thoroughly professional, excellent at putting you at ease and taking your mind off of the potentially very very very very stupid thing you are about to do. well, not the attorney. i'm sure she's a very nice person, but, looking back, she's the scariest part of the day. grab a soda or something at the cafe when you hit the ground and legs back under you. 8,500 feet of air going through your lungs at 120 mph kinda dries you out. read more

Went here with my Dad and had a pretty awesome time. The actual sky dive was fantastic and I felt safe and secure the whole time. I jumped with Kieth and my Dad jumped with Vinny, both of whom where amazing! The one downside was the wait time. Their website does say 4-6 hours, and be prepared to wait that entire time even if the employees say 1-2 hours. I will say that there is a box of games to play (unfortunately I didn't find it until 4 hours in of waiting) and when I went there were 5 extremely cute and friendly dogs. If you bring a book or your laptop the wait will be much faster. Lastly, their groupon lists a 75$ booking fee, which I assumed would be refunded once you show up (I thought it would be to make sure people don't no-show) and when my Dad and I expressed how we thought it was confusing and they may want to clarify it on the groupon, one female employee was quite rude in saying "no, I'm pretty sure it was clear." Just a tip, when a customer is paying over 200$ and they give you advice, just take it. Overall great experience and fabulous jump, definitely consider booking the earlier time slots for a shorter wait (our 2 pm jump left after 7 pm). read more

One thing checked off my bucket list. What's the sensation of falling out of a plane at 11,000 feet? It's hard to say, but at the same time, it's exactly how you would imagine it. Wind whooshing past your face where you can't really hear anything. You see what you normally see out of an airplane window but more of it. So much adrenaline pumping through you that you're senses actually become numb and it becomes difficult to "soak in" the feeling. You really don't have a fear of hitting the ground because it's so far away. Then all of a sudden you feel a sudden jerk and now you're just floating down towards the ground. My tandem guy has probably made more jumps than he can remember. I can't imagine what it's like to just jump out of a plane multiple times day after day. You're probably so used to it that it's not even a rush any more. Well, let me tell you about my guy. While all my friends are getting checked by their tandem instructor and getting their harnesses being tightened and checked, my guy rushes out last minute because he was editing a video from his last jump. We get on the plane (mind you my harness was still as loose as when they first put it on me) and he's like oh we'll tighten it right before we jump. Lucky for me, I wasn't really thinking about it too much (or else I probably would've wet myself). The reason I couldn't give this place a 5 star is that it was kind of confusing on where to sign up, where to go next, where you watch your legal disclaimer video, and where to meet up with your tandem instructor. It's kind of a big outdoor hang out spot where you see a bunch of people playing catch, lounging around in chairs, and just doing whatever. I guess it's that kind of attitude that get's these guys so pumped to be jumping out of a plane as a hobby. As a bonus, while I was jumping, we went through a cloud. What did it feel like? Like a pile of marshmallows? Maybe a down comforter filled with the softest geese feathers offered in this world? Or maybe it was like eating a bagel with Philadelphia Cream Cheese? Nope. Of all my Bucket List items I think that Sky Diving was the one I was most apprehensive about. The idea of jumping out of a perfectly good plane at 12,500ft seems well crazy. Having just completed my first Tandem Jump and am already ready to schedule the next trip to the clouds. We arrived at Sky Dive Pepperell at 12:30 for out 1:00 scheduled appointment. We checked in and were told to meet at the Waiver Room at 1:00 to go through the first part of our training. At 10:00 we signed our lives away and listened to a video recording of a lawyer basically tell us that sky diving is an extreme sport and that we could be killed or seriously maimed by participating. At about 2:00 we began suiting up for our jump and we meet the jumpers we would trust our lives with. They were a fun and energetic group that immediately put us at ease and keep the mood light and playful. One of the jumpers asked me how many times I planned to jump. With it still and unknown I said probably once to which he replied jokingly that parachutes are optional then. They were a great group who clearly know what they are doing. They explained position of exiting the plan, posture during free fall, and the specifics of landing. They also gave many tips for ensuring a good time. While on the plane the continued to keep the mood light and engaging all the first time jumpers. While our videographers communicated with us and recorded our last moments before jumping our tandem jumpers were double checking all the clips that bound us together. Less than 10 minutes after takeoff we had reached our altitude of 12,500 ft and we could see the curvature of the earth. Suddenly the door opened and the wind grew louder. Two solo jumpers went first showing us how easy it is. Their effortless exit made it seem even more exiting. My brother opted to go first and I followed shortly behind him. Before I knew it he was gone and racing towards the ground. Focused more on what I learned about how to position myself I had no time for nerves and I was out the door myself. My gut instinct was to initially close my eyes and I am glad I didn't, that first few seconds out the door were best with the amazing views and hearing the rush of wind whistling by as we accelerated to terminal velocity. Caro my camera lady took the next 60 seconds of free fall to capture video and pictures of my experience. She was within arms length most the time and Reid my tandem jumper guided us into several spins to show off on film. As we approached the clouds it was an incredible to feel the moisture in the air and the sudden white out conditions. As quickly as the cloud appeared we were below it and our 60 second free fall was over. With the pull of the cord out parachute deployed and we slowed down to a comfortable cruising speed. During our glide Reid pointed out the various landmarks such as the Atlantic Ocean and the Boston Skyline before handing over control of the chute to me. He taught me how to turn each direction and how to slow my decent. This gentle decent was sadly over after about 4 more minutes and we began our approach to the airfield where we had begun our journey. As I looked down I could see the parachutes of those that went before me on the ground and as instructed I lifted my legs for a butt first landing. Right before we landed we pulled down on the cords to slow our landing until we landed with less force then most do when sitting in a chair. Caro was quick to join us capturing my big smile and excitement of the jump. After a quick snap of the clips Reid and I were again two people instead of the 1 it felt like on the way down. I can't wait to go again and I still can't get over how comfortable I felt from the start to finish. Skydive Pepperell has a truly great time of professional jumpers who made it an unforgettable experience. I had a great time when I went for my first jump. We had gotten an awesome deal from groupon, waaay cheaper than the normal price! But really it was just great prep for my second jump with a different company up in Millinocket, which I enjoyed more. But they are two very different places. I had a few issues with Pepperell is that I was obnoxiously pressured to get a video by my tandem instructor. Telling me that no one will believe I did it unless I spend another $130 to get a video is not professional. I know it's a big way for them to make money, but having to say no over and over again was annoying. Second, there was no regard for our group reservation. We had a group of around ten and went up in three different loads. We should have been able to fit in one, but they just grabbed people and threw them in wherever they fit. They wouldn't even let our friends who showed up early wait ten minutes for us to arrive and had them start the video and waiver process. It was hectic and confusing as well as frustrating that we all could not jump together even though we had a long standing reservation to do so. I understand they have to fill the loads as much as possible in order to not waste fuel, but some communication to us would have been nice. Still, we all had a great time and enjoyed our first jumps and made the most of it. I'm glad I went and the groupon was a great deal, but I will take my business elsewhere for future jumps. read more

One of the best experiences of my life. I'll give you a rundown of the whole experience. Got the skydiving gift certificate as a graduation gift from my mom. For a couple weeks up until my jump, I would think about the moment right before bed, sometimes scared, sometimes excited. The day finally came, and I was pumped. Arriving at Skydive Pepperell, it is as others described it. Food truck on the left, around 10 dogs lounging around, and tent on the right with people preparing to jump. Under the overhang, music was bumping and staff members were rigging the parachutes for the next jump. Completely relaxing environment. Once I arrived and checked in, the wait began. For the next half hour I watched the dual propeller plane take off and land, depositing both solo and tandem skydivers from the cabin and into the sky. I went into the waiver room and, like others have said, signed my life away. You also watch a video going over the basics of what to do; your instructor will go over this with you a couple more times. After finishing this, I waited about another half hour, mentally preparing for my turn. At this point, any nervousness had been washed away. By watching the plane take off and land over and over again, and seeing so many people jump out, you can feel that these people know what they're doing and that you are in good hands. I met my instructor, Rich. This guy was the MAN. I met him, we talked a bit about why I was skydiving, how I just graduated from college, etc. He made me feel completely safe and was very helpful. Once our plane arrived, we went into the cabin, which had two long benches. We were crammed onto them, and Rich attached us with 2 of the 4 attachments on the harness. At around 5 or 6000 feet, he attached the other 2, and tightened all the restraints, going over everything with me again. At around 10,000 feet, the door opened and people started jumping. I asked to do a barrel roll, so we approached the door, and jumped, flipping out of the plane! It was the most exhilarating thing I've ever done. After around 45 seconds of freefall Rich deployed the parachute; at this point we talked for about 5 minutes as we floated back down to earth. The view was incredible, and I wouldn't trade the entire experience for anything. And get the video! I got the hand cam, and even though it is 45$ less than the DVD video, I think it was better. With the DVD video, another person jumps out and records your jump, but after the parachute deploys, you don't meet back up until you land. With the hand cam, the instructor can record the entire experience, including after the parachute deploys, and the landing. Plus it is close up, and it is hilarious (and cheaper)! Things to do before Age 30: 1. Go Skydiving! I can now crossed this off the bucket list. On July 24th, 2010, I signed my life away after reading a waiver in huge letters that read something along the lines of "Skydiving and parachuting activity could result in being killed". It also doesn't help that the debriefing video they show you before signing your waivers is an attorney who states that you can't sue and that pretty much in so many legal jargon that you may DIE! The instructional video that follows this is hilarious. But be sure to pay a little attention as they do show you the positions you need to be in before you jump. Of course, your instructor will go over this with you over and over again. There is something about jumping out of a plane at 10,500 ft that is indescribable. Its amazing! You like roller coasters? Well, skydiving is NOTHING like it . You don't get that stomach drop feeling in free falling. In fact, you feel weightless as you float through the clouds. Skydive Pepperell is a great place for a first timer. The instructors there are super cool. I think I lucked out when I was paired up with Dave. He talked me thought everything step by step. My BF had Dalton and he said he was reserved and would move his head and adjust without saying anything to you. So it felt like he was a puppet. He was happy that he got to listen in on my training instructions since Dalton went over it so fast, he could hardly understand. To be honest, I was not nervous or scared at all leading up to my jump, except when Dave told me to start creeping towards the door. Then as soon as my feet were on the edge, I seriously was ready to jump before he counted 3. Looking from the ground and see the jumpers before you can be daunting as they are soo frikking high! But once that parachute pulls, its awesome. Dave even let me steer it while he adjusted out harnesses for a more comfortable "ride". We chatted on the ride down and it was super cool to "see" Boston in the yonder and just all that greenery. My landing was super smooth as I held my legs up and waited for Dave to touch down fist before sliding in. Phil was my videographer/ camera guy. I couldn't ask for a more cool dude. He rocks and my video came out great. The pictures were funny. Its definitely worth the extra money especially if this is your fist time. You will want to remember this for the rest of your life! Some downsides, the day we jumped was an off day. They were super backed up from the weather being a pain in the morning and although, we were scheduled to show up at noon and complete the debriefing, we didn't end up jumping till almost 4/430pm. But you know what, it was worth the wait. Since this is something I will never forget. Also, Sippy's café is a great way to ease your nerves and grab a cold drink after skydiving. Prices are cheap enough. Bottom Line; DO THIS! YOU WILL LOVE IT! I am definitely looking forward to doing this again and possibly getting my license to jump. read more

Such an incredibly welcoming environment. From the moment you get out of your car to the moment you roll out of the plane. The staff, facilities, and location keeps me coming back as much as possible. Skydive Pepperell is my first recommendation for someone looking to skydive for the first time as well as those skydivers looking for a dropzone in the northeast. The weather held us back but once I got to do it I had an amazing time. I did a tandem jump with Matty and he was so great. He made me feel safe and comfortable and we had a fun way down. This was my first time skydiving and I'm happy I went to this place. No complaints. Everyone (from the front desk to the instructor) was very nice & cooperative. May be there are better skydiving centers, but this is one of them. We gotta reschedule due to bad winds, they were very cool & cooperative about it. Infact they made us watch the video & fill out waiver the 1st time we went so that the next time we can just make the jump. And thats how it went. When we reached on the rescheduled day, we did not have to wait for the waiver & video we just jumped. It was an amazing experience. Tip - If you are planning to have your jump recorded, make sure you take both the packages if you want the video of the whole jump. We went for the 3rd cameraman jumping with us option and the part between we let go of parachute until we land was not recorded. It might come under the hand cam package. Thank God for Skydive Pepperell and Groupon! I don't know how many things I've tried/ done because I "got a Groupon" for it! Don't know if that's sad, weird or cool. Honestly, I don't really care because if it weren't for the Groupon, I don't think we would've known this place existed or even considered sky diving! Enough about that, now onto the experience... For our first time sky diving (and currently our only time- we must correct this soon) this place turned out to be perfect. After watching a "you might die and you or your family can't sue us, because let's face it you're signing up to jump out of plane" video that scared the crap out of everyone, we proceeded to sign our lives away (and probably that of our first born's as well). But we made it through the scare your pants off phase and moved on to the meet and greet with our instructors. Everyone was very nice and reassuring (some of my friends were quite anxious) and knowledgeable. The gear seemed ok, I don't really have anything to compare it to, but hey I guess I lived to tell the tale so must be fine. They offered several different options to document your free fall and I highly recommend you do. They are a bit pricey, but unless you're an instructor (or a paratrooper) let's face it, how often are you going to jump out of a plane? There was a video package and a photo +vid package. Prices may have changed with inflation but I believe the photo +vid was about $120-150. I got the video only option and my husband opted for the full documentary and photo shoot- both came out great. But if you're strapped for cash, the video only option is fine The videos were taken by our tandem instructor so the shots were up close and personal (make sure you clip your nose hairs). We have not been back but that is only due to circumstance. We fortunately had a beautiful day with clear blue skies so it was perfect! Make sure to check the weather! read more

I just got back from my Tandem Skydive at Pepperell! Waylon was my instructor aka the person strapped to my back and responsible for my life and overall psychological well-being. Waylon is all good vibes, all day. He prepped me carefully, explaining instructions in a way that was super professional, but also comforting and reassuring. Noah was my photographer and 3rd jump buddy. First off, Noah has the BADDEST MOUSTACHE IN THE SKYDIVING GAME. Super friendly, took amazing pics and they both have a real knack at making sure this is a personalized experience. You as the student are the focus and they make sure you feel safe, relaxed all whilst having a good time! Waylon asked me before the trip if I had any problems with motion sickness and I said I didnt think so, welp that meant we could have a little fun during the parachuting descent. Waylon encouraged me to stay relaxed and ride the wind - pretty sure we even touched on some light existential conversation topics. Highly recommend. I can't say enough about my first skydiving experience today on 6/8/14. My instructor, Keith Murray was awesome. He made the experience fun and made me feel at ease and it was obvious he is very experienced. Such a cool dude. Another guy (Luis I believe? Brazilian guy) was really fun and took the time to help us get into our harnesses while Keith was on another jump. He also chatted with us and gave us some pointers. The staff that I interacted with there was awesome. My aunt also jumped with my today, Her instructor Ian was also really great! Appointment was for 9 and I was out of there by 11. "I'm freggin hooked." Back in May around the time of my birthday, I saw a groupon for Skydive Pepperell. Having wanted to Skydive for some time, I saw this as a sign. After convincing my brother and a few friends, the groupon was purchased and before I knew it, jump day was upon us. A quick hour drive from Boston, we found ourselves in the sticks of Pepperell and with nothing in the general vacinity, we opted to arrive early. I mean it was either that or drive around aimlessly. The staff at SDP wer super professional. I mean as professional as sky divers get. These guys were breaking balls and teasing us left and right. From the legal video, to the release waiver, to boarding the plane and then to take that final leap, I had an amazing time. The feeling of looking out the side of a plane 10,000 feet in the air is unreal but strangly I felt at ease. Taking that first jump and falling is incredible and I cant wait to do it again. 3 stars for the organization, 5 stars for my instructor Keith. Upon arriving with my friend, we checked in. I knew I was going to get the video/photo package. The lady tried convincing my friend but in a nice and professional manner. Not pressuring at all. There is an indoor area where you watch a video with all the warnings and sign the waiver. There isn't too much outside other than random lawn or plastic chairs. There is a couch with a TV and DVD player for you to watch after they have edited and burned your video to DVD. It was really cold as this was late in Oct, but having the fall foliage was nice. We kept getting bumped as we were only in a group of two. We ended up waiting an extra two hours due to the larger groups being grouped together and shortage of instructors that weekend. My instructor Keith was on the plane for every trip to keep things moving. I didn't meet him until 5 minutes before we boarded the plane. He was professional, great, and funny. It all worked out since it got much warmer when we were ready to board and jump. As the photographer started getting out of the plane to film my jump, I was flipping out inside. Seconds later Keith jumped, and I was in the air. Awesome. read more
