We are exploring more Korean restaurants in Coquitlam area. We come across Hangang when I do my research and decided to give it a try. Hangang specializes hotpot, beef intestines honeycomb tripe soup and some other more authentic korean cuisine. Customer service and safty precautions are good during Covis-19 period. During our visit, we have ordered: * Yangwoo Tang: beef intestines and honeycomb tripe soup. ($13.95) We ordered spicy soup and it came out very flavorful. Only downside is that I hope there are more intestines or tripe in the soup. * Gamjatang Hotpot: pork bone and vegetables soup. ($35.99) There is no potato in this soup, but more big chunk of meat bones. Meat is tender and soup has a bit more soy sauce taste. Overall, not bad. Lots of parking at the back of the store.

I usually go to the Burnaby Happy Lamb location for the dinner buffet at double the price, but honestly this one might have converted me to do lunches instead. The food selection is very good and you can get your own selection of veggies off of the trays on the side. The pork, chicken, and garlic beef are also available on the side. You have to order the beef and lamb separately with the wait staff. This is much better than trying to have the kitchen staff guess how much of each item you want and getting it wrong. The sauces are also available. There are alot of choices, including sesame paste, fermented tofu, sesame oil, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, salt, sugar, green onions, and coriander. The interior of the restaurant is not as nice as the Burnaby location and overall feels less luxurious. The bathrooms were kind of sketchy. The female one had three stalls, one with a broken lock, one that was totally out of order, and a third one that was somewhat functional but had no handle to open the door from the outside. There was also no paper towels.

Due to limited number of bigger tables, i had to book 2 individual smaller tables. Staff were super friendly and accommodating to put our tables side by side. The selections might not be as many as other ayce places but i like the quality of the selections. We chose to have their new year special with wagyu beef and a few other special items. I also liked their tomato soup base too. Something new which i didnt see it last time i went was the halal selection, which would be great for customers who have halal restrictions Something to note has to be their cute dessert choices. On their new year special, they also had the special dessert bubur cha cha, which was very delicious

Solid seafood place near Coquitlam Centre…read more Parking is available in the lot in front of the building. The place looks nice and modern. Comfortable cushy chairs, and wooden trim. Staff are friendly but understaffed. Once the place filled up they were swamped. Signature steamed seafood pot - definitely on the pricey side, but they don't skimp out. Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. My friends and I gobbled this up. This place also serves makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for a very reasonable price. Goes well with the food. Overall my friends and I left happy. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point to try some other dishes. Recommended.

Place was very clean and color scheme was a lot like "Fish with You" (fish pot restaurant at crystal mall ). Service was very quick - got a table on a weekend afternoon instantly. They do have a minimal order weight of 1LB/19.99 / so this might be the reason why some stated this place is expensive, and it could be if you're a small eater seeking the $10-15 pots. In terms of selection - I don't think they have that large of a selection compared to say Big Way - I felt like there was less of everything. The Fried Egg here was a disaster and don't recommend / it was very dry. Broth selection was mid , tried the #1 spicy broth , apparently most popular among customers - the medium level spicy was alright - you can taste the gentle numbing of the peppercorns, however it still lacked intensity , maybe I should got max heat. They were having a happy hour - so the drink was on the house, no option of type of drink. It tasted pretty good. Did not get the ice cream at the end, believe they had basic Vanilla.

I liked their selection of items as they had more interesting options like cooked razor clams and buckwheat noodles. The staff were friendly and helpful in answering any questions we had about the spice levels or beverage options. I found their broths to be on the creamier side, and my husband got his malatang mild as per the staff's suggestion, but found it too mild for his liking. Just a note that there is a minimum of 1 lb at $19.99, which can be a deterrent for smaller appetites. I did end up packing my leftovers to go so I could have room for their complimentary ice cream, which was more of a froyo texture. I'd come back if I'm in the area, but it's not a must for me, maybe 3.5 stars?

We monitored the waitlist and joined it so that we would be seated around 9PM (that's when HH started). The service was good and our server was very attentive. The taste is really just the broth (I always get the Chinese herbal soup) and it was good and flavourful in the beginning, but of course after cooking some proteins and veggies in it, it does change the flavour. The quality of the meat and veggies were good, and the pricing is definitely worth it during HH because it was 25% off the bill!
