We went to this place for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. On that day, JaJang Noodle and the BBQ Beef rib combo with Seafood Tofu soup. The BBQ rib was ok in taste. The meat were little tough and dry. Yes, times are tough but when a restaurant cuts back so miserably and serves stale side dishes, no lettuce wraps, and stingy poor cuts of meat and charges $96 for barbecue Combo A and $13.50 (x 2 = $27) per kimbap and the bill comes out to $137 before the tip, then they better provide something more than $20 worth of ingredients! The side dishes were the first red flag that it was going to be a disappointing barbecue. Stingy, stale and soggy vegetables that were obviously made the day before. The waitress only refilled our side sides once when we ordered another kimbap and two bowls of rice. The meat was equally disappointing and stingy. The service bad. Will never go back to this place. They cut corners so much. It was a terrible experience. We're close to finding my favourite Korean restaurant in Richmond! We ordered take out on a cold, rainy day - this was before dine-in was allowed. I am not sure what we were thinking but my bf ordered a COLD noodle on a super cold, rainy afternoon and I ordered a hot tofu seafood soup. A hot soup is a great idea you might think, but NOT when you are trying to balance a steaming hot soup on your thigh with rice on your left and banchan dishes laid out across the car dashboard. We were so hungry that we decided to eat in the car - it was a disaster waiting to happen. *spoiler alert* we didn't spill a single thing, but did get an awkward look from the waitress when she found us parked outside after picking up our order 1 hour later. The cold noodles were quite tasty. My bf commented that the noodles were very chewy and the sauce had a good kick of heat, but also a subtle sweetness. The sesame flavour joined the party, but wasn't overpowering. My tofu seafood soup was delicious. Though it smelled a tad fishy (not in a bad way), it was packed with ingredients though it had the two smallest shrimps I have seen. Portion was generous and flavour was on point. Note we both did get a tad thirsty after the meal; I'm not sure if there is any MSG. The banchan earned a shoutout as well! The potatoes were soooo flavourful though a tad salty, but was pleasant when eaten with rice. I've been having a hard time finding Korean restaurants with the perfect kimchi; some too sour, others too spicy or not flavourful enough. I really enjoyed their kimchi. We've dined here before the pandemic, but thought this meal was one of the best ones delivered from this restaurant to date. We ordered 3 lunch combos to share, BBQ Beef short ribs were average and a bit chewy, it came only 3-4 slices. Tofu soup was ok. Kimchi seafood noodles soup so salty. I've had black bean noodles from multiple Korean restaurants in lower mainland include the ones in Coquitlam but nothing beats the one they have here. I just like it so much and I crave it often. Everything is perfect: the thickness of the noodles, meat chunks, richness of the sauce, etc. If you like Korean black bean noodles, it's worth giving it a try for $9! Their seafood pancake is probably one of their best dishes; lots of seafood in there and its cooked so well that the edges are always nice and crispy. Plus, it's a nice thick pancake, not like those thin flimsy thin crust ones that you get at other Korean places.... Their bulgogi hot pot is good and has a good flavour profile, as well as a lot of vegetables and a good amount of meat. Their BBQ is delicious as well (there's always the option of having the kitchen cook the meat for you). Side dishes, like all good Korean places, are free and provide a wide variety of flavours. Their seafood hot pot is also a good pick. The place is a tad bit on the pricey side but for all the meat and stuffings they give you, I think it's well worth it. A good surprise for a Korean restaurant in Richmond. Plenty of parking in the lot, A cozy decor with lots of tables, we came here on a Friday night to find it quite busy. There's lots of selection on their menu, with BBQ sets as well as ordering a la carte. Between the 6 of us, we got a bimbibap and a albap (cod roe stone bowl rice), japchae,and deep fried gyozas, For the BBQ, we got a dish of the pork belly and 2 plates of the beef short ribs. Of course, this also came with their side dishes. The gyozas were absolutely delicious. Eight large pieces of dumpling, lightly deep fried, encompassing a mix of pork, shrimp and cabbage. The beef shortribs came in a plate of 4 pieces, which was a small portion considering it was $15.95. They were good ribs though, none of the chewy meats that can be served at other places. Refilling the side dishes were no problem, and the servers always made sure that we were ok. Overall, food was good, service was decent, and the space is clean and spacious. We've been coming here on occasion for many years. Good food that is served up fast and can accommodate large groups. We always order the seafood pancake, smoked salmon salad, and fried dumplings. These items are on the expensive side, but they're share sized so can feed several people. The lunch boxes are also very good. As with most Korean restaurants, they serve several small appetizer dishes which is always such a bonus. They give out coupons proportional to your bill that can be applied to your next meal here. Ask for it if they don't automatically give you one with your receipt. For a family of six, we paid $76 before taxes for lunch. Honey found this place recently while working a job in Richmond and we've been here a few times now. Most recently we went with the monsters - aka my adult children My son, bless his stomach, isn't very adventurous and not much for spicy foods but loves Korean BBQ. I guess it's the meat-a-tarian in him. Daughter, bless her heart, is vegetarian - but has just returned from a trip to Korea and even though it has only been 3 days since her return she was craving some of her favourites We'd have to give it 8 thumbs up for atmosphere (K-pop music, lots of Korean customers, great service) and the food was delicious as usual. We always end up ordering a bit too much, as much as we try not to. The server was helpful and didn't pressure us to get a larger meat platter as is the case at other places we've been. He cautioned that daughter's choices were both spicy but when we replied that she'd just returned from the country, he was all smiles. We rolled out of there all very happy with ourselves.
