Today I came to Hanger for my night hand brace. This brace has more cushion than my previous one. The straps can use more Velcro.i will have it added to make it more custom fit. The staff and the technician are super friendly and patient attention to detail. He answered all of my questions regarding my hand brace and AFO. They give you a warranty on their devices. My insurance covers 100% cost. Which is great for me. The office is on the 2nd floor and there is plenty of handicap parking in front of the office. I would recommend for you to come here if your insurance will cover it. It is quite expensive if you want to pay out of pocket. For example, my extra AFO had cost me $800. read more

Don't waste your time coming here. The receptionist was rude, and the whole experience was frustrating. They use a third-party service to answer their phones, but there's clearly a lack of communication between them and the office. While I was sitting there, two other people waiting said they were dealing with the same issue. Definitely needs improvement in both customer service and coordination. read more

Was sent here by my Dr's office but the item ordered was incorrect. After meeting with the Dr. to show him the item the was dispensed to me he indicated that was the wrong thing. When I called the office back to let them know so that I could return or exchange for the right thing they rude person who answered said they would not take it back so I was basically stuck with something I could not use. Anyway, I was stuck paying for an item that is collecting dust in the closet. I reached out a couple of times to the office with no return call to discuss and no response. I was referred here by my insurance to get shoes and inserts for my flat diabetic fee ! The first time I went was quite enjoyable. I had never been anywhere to get fitted for Orthotics. Although the staff was a little rigid and appeared a bit disorganized my experience with my foot specialist was pleasant. He fit my feet for Orthotics showed me some shoes and told me which ones he thought were good which I really appreciated.. the first pair of shoes I ordered were not very good. No fault of anyone's. They just didn't fit my feet right.. so we ordered a different pair of shoes, Brooks. Absolutely my best shoe ever along with the Orthotics. I was so happy. My feet were happy.. Now for the following year! Saw the foot specialist and although I love my Brooks, they seemed like they were made a little weaker so again I tried to go with a different brand. After two weeks, I was notified they were backordered that I want to do the books again well, of course I would do the Brooks again. I know I love them and it was the new model. So two weeks ago by I went for my appointment try on the shoes, but they seemed a little big. I asked what was wrong with them. He said they didn't have my size which is a 7B so he took it upon himself to order 7 d. Really you think a size B, which is narrow is going to be comfortable in a squishy wide D.? I told him no thank you I will wait for the newer model which was due out in November. I came back in because it was something wrong with the orthotic I needed it fit because he had sized it to a D and I bought B size. And a pair of Brooks. He then told me I couldn't wait for the new Brooks. His boss had told him I needed to pick out any other shoe right now. I said I wasn't interested in any other shoe. I wanted to wait for the Brooks. I'm not in a hurry anymore. I bought a pair They'll tide me over. His boss proceeded to talk very loudly in front of everybody in the hallway and told me they have lots of shoes I needed to pick one right now. I said I don't want to. I will wait. He said we can't guarantee we're gonna get them so I'm gonna refund your money.. ironically from the very get-go and was told no. He tried to bully me into buying a pair of shoes I didn't want. When I went up to get the refund, the girl said it would be two months I think? Ironically, it didn't take him two months to bill me! So the moral of this story is, if you want shoes that you want if you want shoes that will fit you do not go to Hanger clinic. Very rude and pushy, and who ordered the wrong size and thinks it's going to fit and try and talk me into ? Actually the more I talk and write this I'm changing my stars to one. read more

The front staff here is incredibly rude. When calling and trying to figure out if referrals have been cleared and insurance they have really bad attitudes. DO NOT go to this Hanger Prosthetics Torrance. Ill tell you something that was never told to me. When you have your leg amputated, there is no guide to what is next. My doctor picked Hanger. And I do not know what my doctors relationship was with Hanger. But my experience with Hanger was abysmal. They had nice people but not overly competent. My socket for the foot, was made way to big, and never fit properly. They fed me information that later turned out to be false according to my new prosthesist Almost everything done was to add cost and profit for Hanger, not what's was best for me. I went to Southern California Prosthetics and Rick who owns it and has decades of experience was amazing. Unlike Hanger, he spent hours with me to get the prosthetic leg to fit well and be as light as possible. After 6 visits my leg was still a half inch short and it was hurting my back. Further, Evan the manager there, fought me tooth and nail on just getting a new liner. Both of the types they suggested developed holes rather quickly. All around just an unpleasant experience. read more

Came here for custom inserts for my 12 year old who runs and needs better support. Nice receptionist got me scheduled right away. Parking was easy enough and waited less then 5 mins to be called in. The orthotics were casted within 10min of arrival! The orthopedist who treated us was extremely polite, with excellent beside manners. Answered every question I had (of which there were many)! We come back in two weeks to test out the end results. He said there will be a two week adjustment period for my daughter to get "used" to the change. Looking forward to hearing about the difference in her comfort when running. All-in-all an excellent experience here and to top it off 100% covered by insurance, not even a copay. I was in and out in 25mins, now that is what I'm talking about-this place is prompt! read more

I had the worst experience in this office. Staff were not knowledgable about what they're doing. They have me wait for few days to contact my insurance and let me know the cost, and still they ask me to call the insurance to find out myself, which I didn't care I did it but when I final got an appointment with them and drove all the way there, the front desk gave me completely different information and was trying to over charge me. Don't go to Hanger!!! They have an incompetent technician named Jared who doesn't do his job well. Also, when i complained to Evan, his boss, he was unhelpful. I bought a pair of diabetic shoes there and and the elastic shoelaces on the left shoe broke and i was told to go to Target and buy another lace on my own. When I pointed out that Hanger was paid a lot of money for the shoes, they said that my insurance company was the one that paid for the shoes and that the manufacturer doesn't allow for an order of shoelaces, when the original product is defective. The people at Dr Comfort said that is not true. Please don't waste your time at Hanger!!!! read more

Needed a brace and a boot for my ankle. My HMO approved them with Hangar, but I wanted specific types my doctor was recommending. I called and spoke to a woman there. I explained the situation to her, and she didn't know anything and kept telling me I had to come in. I told her that I was going to come in, but first I needed to know if they could order what I needed. She said she didn't know and that they only had generics. I asked her if I could speak to someone who could answer my question. She must have told me three times...that I had to come in. I insisted on speaking to someone first. There was no use in my going in, if they weren't going to be able to give me what I wanted. She said everyone was busy, but that she would leave a message for someone to call me. No one ever did. That's just fine with me...except all the time I wasted. I went on Amazon and bought both the exact brace and boot I wanted, and combined they were less than $100. At least now, I know that I'll be comfortable when I have to wear them for 2 months or more. Generics are not made well, don't fit well and hurt! If you don't want to suffer...in more ways than one...avoid these people. read more

We went to Hanger clinic because my 6 year old needed to get new orthotics. Hanger clinic was so easy to deal with. First it started with my paperwork already being filled out for me that is definitely a plus in my book when you have a child who has special needs these are the big things that help you so much. We saw Jim ,Who was so patient and engaged my son talked to him sang with him. Jim was very personable I would definitely recommend this location and staff to anyone. The front office staff does not have it together. They can not get there paperwork together for the life of them. They talk poorly about office manager to patients. They continuously "never" received faxed paperwork even after it has been verified. They take forever during your visit to finally run insurance paperwork while you wait. Most offices run these forms prior to your visit. They have lost our business and I do NOT recommend this office on Madison Street in Torrance Ca. read more
