Although almost a week in my grandmother (who cannot speak) was left alone for over 15 mins while in the bathroom. They lack empathy and common sense cause clearly she is not supposed to be alone by herself for that long. We went off on the staff because one person would get her then another person was taking her back. it was a mess and in general this facility needs some major upgrading. UPDATE AS OF 10/21/25 There was a covid outbreak in this facility and was not informed about this until after my visit on the same day it was discovered and oh boy the nurses/staff did not know what to tell me in regards to why i wasn't informed when i was physically there. side note: DO NOT LET THEM TELL YOU THAT VISITING HRS ARE ONLY BETWEEN 10:30AM-8PM. After the initial visit and incident of my grandmother they stated the visitation hrs are 24/7 !!! it's lie after lie with this place.

She was great. She is a nurse who enjoys her job and it shows in her care and her personality. Even when she is very busy she always greeted me with a smile. The Physical therapy department is good. They were very effective and knowledgeable about my needs and I looked forward to it every day. Manny the Supervisor and all of his staff took great care of my PT needs. The administrative staff did everything I needed to prepare the home care I needed when I was discharged. The food is really good sometimes but not so good others. They did change the meals I didn't care for whenever I requested. If I ever needed care again I would go here.

If there was a problem, it was quickly resolved. The rehab department and Manny did a great job. Manny worked with my mother and checked on her regularly. He was flexible with the physical therapy schedule to accommodate her needs (if she was tired or not feeling good). The Director of Nursing was always available and super kind. I would recommend Harbor Post-Acute Care Center for anyone who needs a little extra assistance and care. My mother also asked me to write this post as she is very happy about the care she received. She would very much like to thank the staff and show her appreciation for all their assistance during the time she stayed with them for her rehab.

However, my experiences with the nurses at the 200 station have been extremely disappointing. During multiple visits, I felt as though my questions were an inconvenience. The staff at that desk were not approachable or helpful, and their demeanor came across as "why are you bothering me?" I initially thought it might have just been a one-time interaction, but unfortunately, it happened more than once. When I went to other nursing stations, the staff were polite and willing to assist, which made the contrast even more noticeable. I understand that many facilities are understaffed and that healthcare workers are under a lot of pressure. I can be patient and understanding if someone is busy or brief. What was upsetting, however, was the dismissive attitude. When I asked to speak with the head nurse about my dad's condition, I was met with visible eye-rolling (yes, even behind a mask it's noticeable) and told to "write your note on a blank paper," after which the nurse looked away as if my concern wasn't important. On another occasion, I asked for help opening the family room, which was supposed to be open at 8:00 a.m. It was already 30 minutes past, and this was the second time I had asked. The only response I received was, "Well, it should be open," followed by being ignored. There was no offer to check on it or find someone who could help. Bringing a loved one to a facility like this is already emotionally difficult. A little kindness and basic courtesy go a long way. I hope this feedback encourages management to address the attitude and approach of the nursing staff at the 200 station. It would make a meaningful difference for families who are already going through a challenging time.

She was prescribed Norco and Gabapentin to manage post-surgical pain, which left her in a weakened state, and she was discharged to a rehabilitation facility of our choosing. After touring several facilities from Providence's recommended list, we selected Beachside Post Acute. We chose Beachside because we needed a facility that specializes in both physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT). It's a cozy, thoughtfully designed property in a breezy part of Torrance, conveniently located near both Walgreens and CVS. The building appears to have been a converted motor lodge, with a single-level layout that wraps around a central outdoor courtyard. This design allows each room to have either a window or sliding glass door, providing natural light and fresh air--something we found especially valuable. The PT staff have access to a dedicated room with specialized equipment, and both the main corridor and courtyard are used for assisted therapy sessions. There's also a recreation room and dining area where patients can enjoy meals outside their rooms, offering a welcome change of scenery. The kitchen serves nutritious, genuinely tasty meals--I can personally attest to that. What truly sets Beachside apart is the staff. They are compassionate, attentive, and clearly take pride in their work. To those who may read this--Susan, Marisol, Julius, Eva, Kimberly, Bryan, Alyssa, and everyone else--thank you. You made a difficult experience far more manageable, and we are deeply grateful.

I chose this nursing home because it was near my mom, I wish I had chosen differently, and as much as I appreciated the little stuff they did for me..it was all about the money..and my cliset door fell off twice, second time almost sliced off one of my toes, I had to get 9 stitches in my toe, so as much as they say they are about keeping people safe there, people still fall out of bed and out of their wheelchairs, so I still need them to compensate me for this injury, that bothers me now everytime I walk..and for my laundry I lost, for losing my hearing, etc... the nurse got mad at me occassionally and talk to me like I'm a idiot, and I'm a eduacated woman, this place can cause you to go insane, if you're already insane when you arrive, I had to guard my mind like my life depended on it. But many of the people brought in have severe dementia or alzheimers .I walked into my room once and the person next to me was wearing one of my shirts, they did take it off her immediately...but it means that the nurses went and took it out of my closet. I was there for about 14 months and two weeks before I left they finally put a mirror up in the bathroom for me. And they also said they would put a lock on my closet door, which they never did. And I think some of the nurses have sticky fingers..it was a nightmare trying to heal my body from surgery and broken bones in this dump...and one time the housekeepers sprayed some sort of bug spray or something in my room, I had to jump out of the room and I gasped in the hallway in my wheelchair for 4 hours...this place actually made me sicker then I already was..I don't know why they have a five star rating...
