The menu sounds amazing but the taste was extremely underwhelming. I had both the leucadia and the lambo fries and you'd think that they'd be really tasty and artery-clogging, but they were not. Maybe it's my personal taste, but salt is one ingredient that should never be left out from fries. Both fries that I ordered practically had no salt, wish I had brought my own salt. The beef on the Leucadia was a chopped up bland, very well-done burger patty and the lettuce at the top did not really go well with the rest. Lambdo was slightly better but still pretty much underwhelming. I wouldn't have bought these had I had other food choices and for $12/13, it certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Looked really good but ended up really disappointed. This is a detailed account so I'll summarize first.... Food 2*, Service 2*, not at all worth the $15+tax. Burger was maybe 2*, bun was ok, toppings were good, meat was pre-cooked, heated up and overdone. Fries were good. Cashier was polite, the guy I assume was Louie was rude. All in all, don't recommend and will never go back. Walking around the Oceanside Market with my wife and three kids, two boys (8 & 5) wanted burgers so we figured we'd try Hangry Louies. They don't have any kids burgers which is fine so I decided to order the Hangry Louie for my older son and wait to get a "meat, cheese, bun" burger somewhere else. After a few mins decided to just get the "meat, cheese, bun" from Hangry Louie even though it was going to cost $15 so went back to the counter and added that to my order. The first burger came out in a reasonable amount of time and then when another 5mins went by without getting called for the other burger I figured I'd approach the counter to check on the "meat cheese bun" order. When I asked they said they were waiting on fries and the guy that seemed to be in charge (I assume that was Louie) seemed agitated. There was only one order between my two burgers although there were a few people served in between me getting my burgers and they were all fries orders! While waiting I was watching the cook on the grill. He was cooking burger patties and putting them in metal warming containers at the back of the grill (see my pictures). A couple of things occurred to me... firstly, the meat cheese bun burger would have taken 10secs to make because everything was pre-cooked... secondly... everything was pre-cooked!! While standing there the guy in charge handed someone fries, apologized for the wait and offered them a free drink (this person had ordered after me) and was served while my burger was sitting on the side of the counter waiting to be handed out. Rather than hand me my burger and offer me a free drink Louie put the burger buy the register, said nothing to me, and let his cashier (who was very polite) give it to me and there was no free drink offer. read more

I go to the Hillcrest Farmers Market every Sunday. When I find something I like, I stick with it. I found something I love and I'm sticking with it. Their Vista Breakfast Burger is absolutely incredible. I'm usually super plain in my tastes and don't like sauces, but their sauce is AMAZING!!! I could not more highly recommend their food. It's incredible. I'm so grateful Sunday is my cheat day...because I'm usually hangry by then. This hits the spot and makes my day. read more

My wife helps run the farmers market. I really wanted to try the burger, but I saw the burrito with eggs, potatoes, pick de gallo and more. Mistake!!! It was late in the day!! It was all potatoes. It didn't have cheese? It didn't have pico de gallo. It was not good. I have never posted a negative comment on anything at the market, EVER, but it seemed like they ran out of the ingredients for a good burrito and left my son and I with a tortilla wrapped with hash brown cakes. If you want to lower your standards and give a product sub standard that's leads me to think, I could do better cooking at home, that's a bummer:( I was severely disappointed!! Got the breakfast burrito from the Poway Farmer's Market. It looked so good, but what a disappointment. The burrito was almost all potatoes, with barely any egg. The menu listed avocado as an ingredient, but it really was the pre-made guacamole you get from Costco, which overpowered the burrito. It was extremely over priced for what i got. A $16 sandwich with one slice of bacon and 6 cold tots. The patty was literally not even the size of half the bun. This was an improvement to the last time I visited however, where they had no more buns stocked and gave me the wrong order. I would never come back here. Man I'd be LION if I said those LAMB burgers weren't to die for I followed them on IG for a while but just tasted their food through the screen. Finally I had enough and decided to stop by and try some myself. Man the smell was flying towards my face from many feet away. I had the lamb burger and I forget what my mother had.
