It seems like most popular food items would be the cup bowls, but I didn't feel like eating a whole meal at the time lol. I ended up getting a sausage + cheese dog, with garlic mayo. Ordering was easy, although, it felt like it took a long while just to make a Korean corn dog lol. I even ordered a smoothie across the booth and received that first. So service was a bit slow. I got the number 6 around 10:30 in the morning. It was okay except the chicken (fried chicken) was not hot. I thought that is kind of weird because they had been open for only 30 minutes, so it didn't seem fresh to me. Parking is paid around the neighborhood. Quick and easy. It was not busy at this time. I decided to try this restaurant .. which really isn't a restaurant. It is Korean street food but I decided to try it because one day they were having a deal where all of their menu items were $5 and the line was all the way around the block so I knew this place had to be good and I knew I had to try it. So anyway, that day I waited in line for the 2 hours because I looked on the menu and $5 meant that all of their bowls were half price because usually is $10 for a regular and $13 for a large so it was a very good deal. I have taken 3 of my 5 family members to Hankki in the last 8 months. Each of them wants to go back. I am a big believer in value for food, and I have to say Hankki is just at the cusp of almost a good deal. What makes up for it though is that the food is very delicious! Dining in can be a noisy experience, though they do have a room tucked away from the counter / main dining / entrance. Counter staff are pretty good and I have never had an issue if I have to ask questions, the staff seem knowledgeable about the product the sell. Highly recommend! read more

Located in a very busy street in downtown Calgary, Hankki offers a quick fast casual dining experience. The food was very fairly priced and more importantly tasted really good. When my friends and I entered on a Saturday night it was very packed and we were immediately greeted - the service was top notch and they walked us through the menu. We opted for their Korean bowls and I got the combo with Korean barbecue and fried chicken. You can customize the spice level and there's tons of sauce to pair. K BBQ Bowl seems a bit small but I guess okay for the price (probably won't fill you up if you just eat 1 bowl). Meat to rice ratio was surprisingly good, I wouldn't mind more veggies too! Like another review said, I added kimchi when I got home. Would be nice if the bowl came with kimchi! Also, I selected "very hot" but didn't find it hot at all. Food is good and very affordable. Will get you full and tastes good enough. Nothing fantastic tho. Some chicken bits were dry some were actually juicy. The corn dog was great. I've had them in street markets in Seoul (Korea) several times already these past few years and this tasted so similar if not the same. Pretty authentic if you ask me. Service was great. I was pretty hungry and it was too late for me to cook, so I sauntered to Uber Eats and Hankki caught my eye. The serving size was perfect. The bowl wasn't filled to the top but I was full by the end. The rice to meat ratio was decent, and the lettuce added a delicious fresh bite. Without the dumplings this may not have been the most filling - but still a good portion. I ordered light spicy and it was still pretty spicy! Make sure to mix the sauce otherwise you'll get some hot mouthfuls. Since I ordered through the app I can't speak to the service or ambiance. Tonight I tried the Hot Bop with sweet and spicy pork which came in a bowl with rice, lettuce, and pickled veggies. It was very good and well portioned! I had the option to choose spicy level and I went with medium spicy and it was just right for me! I also got an order of the honey butter seasoned fries which were not like any fries I've had. They were crisp and flavorful. Overall, a solid to meal that travelled well for take-out. With delivery fees it got a little pricey, but probably still worth it. read more

This is one of my 11 year old daughter's favourite places. Drove here on a Tuesday evening around dinner time. Was able to park in front and run in to get take out. It was one of the hottest days on record in Calgary. They have a small patio out front and a small seating area in the restaurant. I ordered 3 orders of Korean BBQ, Dakgalbi, and a order of Korean fried chicken. They said I can wait in my car and they would come deliver it. And sure enough they came out in less than 10min. When we got home food was still hot. Family really enjoyed. Food did not disappoint. I like how they layer the meat, then shredded salad, then rice, strips of egg and dumplings. Each dish came with 4 fried dumplings which are one of my kids favourite. Family enjoyed our meal and definitely will be back. Speed of getting the food Customer Service. Everything is all good. So far so good. I have only had a corn dog from them but it was very very good. I think my corn dog was called the Ugly dog? I had french fries around the batter. I accidentally ordered the sweet sauce. I actually regret doing it...the sugar around the hot dog is too much. I would definitely choose a different flavour next time. I've had Korean hot dogs before in Toronto and was so sad to move because I didn't know if Calgary would sell this. So glad Hannki opened up. Their prices are also very reasonable. Mine was around $5.50 and it tastes just as good as my favorite place in TO. I haven't tried anything else yet. However, I will definitely come back for my Korean Hot Dog fix. My husband and I always come here and it's often busy. There's no dine-in inside because they have such a small space. There's patio dining but it's often full because it's so busy. So just note that you might not be able to dine in. My #1 recommendation is their Honey Butter Fries! It's a hidden gem~ I believe their popular dishes are their Korean Corndogs (because k-corndogs are generally really popular nowadays) but we often buy the Cupbops along with the Honey Butter Fries. Prices are reasonable. One improvement is if they offered brown rice like other cupbop places, but it's not a big deal. Would recommend to anyone I know~ read more

I ordered Sweet Crispy Chicken large - pieces are bite size $12.00, Fries - Large Honey Butter $6.50 and 5 Hot Dog on a Stick - Ugly Potato (Original Hot Dog Coated In Crunch Potato) $5.50, Hannki Original (Crisp Batter & Juicy Sausage) $4.00, Mozzarella Sausage (Perfect Combo of Sausage with Mozzarella Cheese) $5.00, Yellow Dress (Sausage wrapped with Cheddar Cheese) $5.00, Whole Mozzarella (Special Hot Dog for Cheese Lover) $5. Be hungry these are large hot dogs on a stick. The food is delicious. Rocky, the owner and his wonderful staff were so friendly and helpful. I am definitely going back for more. Very good modern Korean street food at very good prices and with service that's unerringly pleasant- I mean just SUPERB service. I've had the cupbop with fried chicken which was very tasty but my fave is the vegetarian one with veggie mandu (these are stuffed dumplings, a Korean version of gyoza) and lots of veggies with rice in a bowl- it's a big portion of beautiful food for a mere $10. Great value. My partner and I also split an order of the cheddar cheese fries- there are interesting as heck and very tasty but are akin to cheese potato chips...it's a cheese powder that's an umami bomb and was really too much for me with the very big cupbop. I think a good strategy would be to get the smaller order of cupbop. ANYway, next time I want to try one of their hotdogs, which look very alluring and appear to be the main draw here. Oh, we just went on a Sunday and it was packed out the door but service was extremely fast and we were in the lineup and gone with our food in, oh, ten minutes, so don't be intimidated by the lineup. read more
