Was impressed with this big restaurant, very clean and had a cool open kitchen concept. Bartender…read morewas friendly and service was pretty quick. The bar had a few large screen TV's with various sports on and there is a big (separate) game room area for kids to be occupied while parents can enjoy a drink. However I did find it weird that the men's bathroom has a one way mirror that overlooks the playroom while using the urinal? A few reasons I couldn't go higher than a 3 on this experience. First of all it has to do with the "quick" service. I ordered a bowl of soup, which was huge! It came out hot and pretty tasty... but my main course came out only minutes after. So I had to make a decision... power through my soup in hopes to still have hot food when I was finished. Or eat them both at the same time... I chose the latter. For my main course I had the Fish and Chips. 3 pieces of fish, two that were stuck together, served on top of a small pile of over done fries. The fish was crispy on the outside but a bit mushy in the inside. the bartender, who was very nice and friendly, was way too busy to refill my drink because she was busy making drinks for the entire restaurant. I finally stopped a waitress to get a refill. Judging by the atmosphere and the relatively good crowd, this seems to be a well liked local place. So I have to believe that I maybe my fish and chips were just a one off. I also thought that the entree was fair priced at $15, but $10 for the soup was a bit much. (And now that I look at the menu (the next day) the soup is listed at $5.99...makes me wonder why I was charged $9.99??). Maybe the $6 is for a cup? It doesn't offer a cup or a bowl on the menu, just a price of $5.99. Shame on me for not noticing and asking I guess!

It took me a month to write this because it was such a terrible experience. I ordered a caramel frappe (came out chunky with ice and tasted not great). I ordered the gluten free carrot cake and cauliflower crust pizza. I tried to order the gluten free pasta beforehand but they were out of gluten free noodles. So I settled. They both tasted decent, nothing to write home about. Paid and left. When we got back home I was throwing up violently profusely as I do when I have had gluten, cross contamination offers a stomach ache and internal issues. So I knew it was gluten and not just cross contamination. While I was unwell I had my friend call and try to confirm that the items I had were gluten free as that was what I ordered and also the waitress knew I needed things gluten free. The manager got on the phone and started out the conversation with "I'm not trying to be an a$$..." great start. And then later on told us they "do not accommodate celiacs". Will never go back or recommend to others.

It was absolutely worth the trip. Before the food arrived, I had the chance to chat with the owner, who shared that much of the lumber in the restaurant came from his family's farm. That small conversation told me a lot about the place. It feels authentic, welcoming, and built with care. As someone who loves BBQ, I know competition BBQ and restaurant BBQ are very different. The owner comes from a competition background, and he has clearly mastered the restaurant side. I ordered the turkey melt because turkey is one of the best tests of a smoker. No sauce needed. The smoke was spot on, the avocado balanced it perfectly, and my wife's brisket sandwich was excellent. The surprise star of the meal was the green beans. At a BBQ restaurant, that's not something I expected to say, but our entire group loved them and we're still talking about them. The seating was great for our large group, the prices were fair, and the atmosphere was lively. Most impressive of all, the servers were fantastic from start to finish. Every person in our group enjoyed every bite. We came because of the bacon basket. We'll be back because of everything else.

The ribs were ok but not tender. We returned the bacon because on the menu it states double smoked with rub but it came dripping in sugar.

We did add mushrooms and onions. I think there was an entire onion and plenty of mushrooms sautéed on the steak platter. There was so much food. Had the Merlot with the meal paired perfectly with the steak. The clam chowder was exceptional. The salad wasn't huge leaves it was cut properly with the perfect amount of carrots and croutons the blue cheese was chunky and delicious. We also tried the spinach and artichoke dip. Was delicious.Service was perfect. Not sure the waitress name. But she was great. Didn't interrupt while we were talking. Each course was delivered with perfect timing. She was so nice. Told some friends about it. They said did you have a reservation. Not sure if you need one or not. Call and ask. Probably do for prime rib Friday and Saturday. But let me stress the steaks are not your normal thin steak, restaurants try and pass off as a steak. No this is a 1970's style thick steak. They also have a wonderful bar and I did see they have a wine cellar and dining available down there also. Not sure if it's a special occasion space or proper dining. If it is a private dining party place down there. Sold I want to try that. So if you're in the mood for the best date night ever without a stage. While also eating twice as good and twice as much for generally $20 less that other restaurants that serve steak. Then this is your spot. This is not a dig on the restaurant just a word to the wise. The parking lot is dirt/gravel. So it's muddy when it's wet outside. $1000 dollar shoes beware!
