Fred picked up two different pieces for me (at 2 different times) and I just got back the first piece and it looks AMAZING! He had us come in and choose our stain, one of his employees helped us choose and tested it out on the piece to make sure we liked it. Plus he explained the different types of finishes they could put on it and showed us examples. His warehouse is full of pieces they're re-doing and I can see why so many people use Fred's. Fred called me to let me know that the wood on the second piece he's refinishing is a completely different wood so the stain will not look the same. He just wanted to make me aware of it and show me the work in progress to make sure I liked it. I appreciate the honesty and the heads up. A neighbor accidentally drove his pickup truck through our garage and into our dining room. This…read morecaused major damage to the 9' wood dining room table we bought at an antique store 40 years ago, and cracked one of our wood dining chairs and snapped another chair totally in half, the back completely broken off from the seat and legs. In addition, a solid wood corner table cabinet 28"x28"x24" with a patterned wood top surface had two corners broken off and the top damaged. The construction company rebuilding our garage and dining room recommended Furniture Medic to restore our severely damaged furnishings. Furniture Medic did a fantastic job! The table came back looking absolutely gorgeous!!! The nicks and gouges and some serious scraping of the tabletop, including some from the chandelier prism glass pieces that fell and pierced the tabletop, were repaired and not one indication of any damage could be seen. Plus, they must have restored the original color of the wood so instead of dark and faded walnut coloring as it had been for many years, the table had much more of a bright golden brown color that looks fabulous. A previous owner had painted the legs and undercarriage an olive green which 40 years ago we thought pretty funky bohemian looking, and Furniture Medic called us to see if we wanted to keep the green or maybe turn that brown, too. We opted for the brown stain, and now we have a table that looks totally great and better than we've ever seen. Thank you very much to Furniture Medic of Carol Stream for their great work, and for restoring our furniture and spirits after this devastating incident! PS.
