Delicious Cornish pasties, great customer service, & open late. Easy to grab & go spot while you're checking out the Pubs at Temple Bar. Got the onion & cheese one. Was warm & perfect on a cold night. Cheers!

The Cornish Pasties were wonderful, highly recommend. The location is easy to find, and is tucked into the alleyway.

Must try: All the Cornish Pasties! Why: Great warm snack or meal to walk around Temple Bar and explore. Like a handheld meat & veggie pie filled with smiles! I loved the Chicken, Leeks and Bacon - yum! It was so good I came back the next night for a late night snack before bed Trung the Dubliner (Beef & Cheese) - double yum! Note: Convenient quick bites in the heart of Temple Bar. Accepts cash and card. Small restaurant with two stools on side. There are benches in courtyard/plaza to chill and people watch while enjoying the pasties.

Great location towards a small street off the square. Plenty of food options around, but I wanted something not overly filling. The service was great and friendly with a huge selection. I chose the traditional lamb pasty and it was delicious! For a hand pie it was more than filling! Flakey crust, flavorful lamb filling! Give them a try!

Authentic, fresh, hot and delicious!! We stayed in Dublin for 3 nights and after eating lots of Irish food, we wanted something different without spending a ton. This place was steady/busy during the early-dinner hours, and the server said at night the line is out the door until 4am! We ordered 2 pasties and they were both really good. The hotdogs looked good too, but the condiments had been sitting out all day. They even had a ton of groceries available for purchase and we saw a handful of people come in just to buy their flour. There was hardly any seating, so I would recommend ordering take-away (to go). Great location for walking around the Temple Bar area. Very fair prices.

We were wandering away from having a few whiskeys, and saw Hanley's Cornish Pasties on our way to catch a cab to our next destination. We were still full from breakfast, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to try Hanley's. We'd seen a few videos that absolutely raved about them, so we popped in and got one to go! Sadly, they were out of the one we wanted to try (The Dubliner), so instead we ordered...I think it was the chicken and leek? (Like I said, we were a few whiskeys and pints in at this point, so I'm not 100% sure!) Well, when we ate it, about 20 minutes later, it was SO good, we both wished we'd bought two! We're big fans of Cornish pasties anyway, but this was a step above what we're used to. If you find yourself in the area, particularly after a few drams or pints, definitely make your way over to Hanley's!

Small shop in the Temple Bar area, right down the street from Leo Burdock's. For anyone who has never had a pasty, they are handheld meat pies (think of small fruit pies or calzones in the US). While on vacation, we wanted to try all. the. things...so we only ordered one here to split as we made our culinary rounds. The kind and friendly worker recommended the steak and cheese version, so we gave it a go. There are many pasties already cooked and ready behind the counter and they were incredibly affordable and wrapped in a manner that it easy to enjoy on the go. However, since we were exploring more of the area, we asked if we could sit in the small seating area(she said yes). For some reason, it was roped off. It was a terrible seating area, TBH. Random wooden crates at odd heights and kitchen equipment taking up most of the space. Perhaps this was why it was roped, as they find a home for the gear? The pasty itself was good, but nothing special. We were surprised it was not served with a sauce or gravy of any kind to take away the dryness of the pastry. Perhaps we needed to ask for one. We would definitely try a different variety next time. In general, we like the casual vibe and affordable cost. You could definitely feed a large group pretty easily.

This place has absolutely delicious pasties and an impressive selection. I've tried the traditional and the peppered steak and prefer the traditional; the peppered steak was too peppery for my liking. Definitely drop by for a great on the go cheap eat. My only complaint is that they are way too hot to eat immediately.

    Display of pasties! Yum yum!

Since our old pasty shop closed in San Luis Obispo, CA, my boyfriend and I have been searching for a good place to have one. Sure enough, when traveling to Dublin, Ireland, we have finally found one! We have enjoyed Hanley's so much that we've been twice within two days time! We loved the chicken tikka and the Dubliner pasties! Highly recommend stopping here for a quick, easy, and reasonably priced meal!

I love this place. Its one of my favorite places in Dublin and during my one week trip I must have visited this place a handful of times. The pasties here are delicious. My favorites were the meat and gravy and the peppered steak. I think the prices range from 3.95 to 4.95 euros. They open really late into the early morning hours but by the end of the day there is less variety to choose from. The one negative about this place is that it doesn't take credit cards. Thats probably why they are able to keep the prices low. If I ever lived in Dublin I'd eat here everyday!

These warm, golden, flaky pasties is what hits the spot when it's chilly out and after a fun night at the pubs! They've got all sorts of options and it's so easy to eat on the go as you head to your next pub.

We nearly broke our rule on not eating at the same restaurant twice while on vacation. Every single dish that came to our table was a small revelation. The flavors were bold, the presentation was beautiful, and you could tell real care went into every plate. We tried a little bit of everything and there was not a single miss. Huge shoutout to our server Matt, who took care of us all night. You can tell he has deep roots in this community and genuine pride in the history of the place, and it showed in how he talked about the menu and the restaurant. He made the whole experience even better with his warmth and knowledge. If you are visiting Dublin, do not skip The Boxty House. Ask for Matt if you can. Five stars, easily.

It was not too loud in our seats by the window where we could watch the action in Temple Bar. Boxty - think of a potato version of a crepe (a little thicker) - Gaelic boxty - 4/5 solid offering with a generous portion of steak on top of the boxty and with mushrooms and mushroom sauce - Chicken boxty - 4/5 chicken breast wrapped in boxty with a roasted red pepper on top and slice of chorizo (I didn't care much for the chorizo but my partner happily ate it) with tasty sauce with cooked chopped onions - concannon - 4/5 basically mashed potatoes on top of a little bit of cooked kale (said cabbage too but I didn't see it) - green beans with lemon and goat cheese - 4/5, tangy lemon forward I know people say this is touristy and that is likely since it is in Temple Bar and I don't see why that's a problem! Definitely worth trying when you're in the area.

The Beef Stew and Mac & Cheese was just what we needed! The Beef Stew was super flavorful, dark in color, nice bite sized chunks of beef (and plenty of them), and then a mound (!) of mashed potatoes on top. It was divine! The Mac & Cheese with pulled pork had a sweet-ish profile. Homemade Mac & Cheese is the base, and then pulled pork (in a BBQ sauce) is layered on top. THEN they sprinkle cheese over the whole thing to give it a nice crunchy top. They have beer flights ("taster trays") of the draft beer, plus cans available and even "casks" (which isn't on tap, and once opened needs to be drunk!) Last, the folks who work here are really nice and they seem to attract a very nice clientele. Plus there are games. This seems like a pretty special place all around.
