My slow cooked beef & Guinness stew was tasty. Fats around the beef chunks so the meat was tender. Lunch menu seems to be a better deal, along with the wait time if you can eat early before 5pm. You can order regular menu during the lunch time too. It is super popular establishment so expect to wait a while during the dinner time. Loud, lively, touristy place where a pint of beer is nearing 10 Euro. And they'll ask for tip too.

Travels to Dublin from the US, and was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of places to grab a proper Irish meal. So, I picked The Quay's Irish Restaurant simply to end my tortuous indecisiveness and so glad I did! The staff were AMAZING, and so was everything else. The quality of food and the vibe left me feeling full, satisfied and wanting more! I had the fish and chips with mushy peas, and order of crispy wings and a cappuccino. I have zero complaints and highly recommend if you're here visiting for the first time, or a local who hasn't tried it. Well done, you helped me take home a wonderful memory of my First real meal in country!
Fantastic! Fun fact for us tourists visiting Dublin, even though this says Restaurant, should you be at a pub and see flowers outside, they serve food. Quays came through with amazing food! After a busy day of walking through Dublin, we needed more fuel to keep going. Dublin was packed at this particular time but Quays looked less crowded so we hopped in. Ambiance is what you'd expect from Dublin; warm and inviting. The seafood soup was amazing even on a warmer day and the fish and chips my daughter had were proper and delicious. She especially liked the tartar sauce served in a shell. For me, I crushed a plated of bangers and mash. That could've slowed me down! After a heaping pile of mash, I was asked if wanted anything else and I did--a nap! But, once it settled and I drank a pint of the black stuff (as a digestion aid!) I was right as rain and we went on to explore some more of Dublin! Absolutely delicious meal and relatively affordable, too!
I came here because I heard the fish and chips were great. I ended up ordering an order of the fish and chips and an Irish coffee for the first time. The Irish coffee was reminiscent of an espresso martini, just with whiskey. The fish and chips came pretty crispy with tartar sauce and chips that tasted great! Looking around it was a lot of tourist so I was pretty hesitant on dining in, but was pleasantly surprised. My meal altogether was close to $40 USD. The service was good. Definitely call your waiter when you're ready for the check. If you're staying in the temple bar area I think this is a great option for a quick lunch or dinner before going to the pubs.
Got a traditional Irish stew, and it was delicious! I was worried it wasn't going to be filling, but it had plenty of potatoes, carrots, and lamb. Service was good: they got me seated and the food really quickly. Ambiance was great: felt like a pub where you can either dine by yourself or come with friends. 100% would come back to try more dishes.
I had some time to kill before a dinner reservation and decided to pop into Quays (pronounced like Kays). It was one of the few pubs around where I could actually find an empty barstool and it turned out to be great timing since live music was just about to begin. Since I'm not much of a beer drinker, I opted for a Bulmer's cider which I enjoyed. The live music was really nice too. Definitely not traditional Irish music on this particular evening but the singer's voice was great and it was pretty entertaining to hear him cover a bunch of American country songs. The inside is super cozy and exactly what you'd expect in an old school pub. When I was there, it was decorated for Christmas which really added to the charm. This place is located in the heart of Temple Bar so it's definitely a tourist trap. If I was planning on staying for more than a couple pints, I probably would've chosen someplace else given the fact that each pint was around 9 euros -- definitely a rip off. If you have time to kill, venture into Quays but know that you can probably find a more traditional Irish pub for less money elsewhere.
We stopped in here for dinner because it's very popular based on the line forming, and our goal was to only eat traditional Irish food. We were told the wait was about 30 minutes, they gave us a number and we headed to the bar to kill time. The bartender was not at all creative when I asked her what she could make with the strawberry gin so I had to walk her through making a cocktail. Once it was our turn we were seated on the far side of the kitchen in a little walkway at a 2 top. Our server was quick to arrive, take additional drink orders and get our food started. I ordered the Guinness stew and my hubby ordered the lamb shank. Both were tasty, but definitely do try the lamb! My stew was mostly carrots and potatoes which was annoying because I had a whole bowl of mash to go with it.
Wonderful pub/restaurant with amazing food and atmosphere. After a quick search on find me gluten free we were close to Quay's so decided to stop in! Oh my! I am happy we did!! While we are not into the Guinness face of Dublin we are into the food and culture and Quay's brought the Irish culture alive in the food!! If/When we travel back to Dublin this will be a stop for sure!! After a full day walking and riding the hop on hop off bus we wandered into this beautiful spot. The ambiance, the service and the food were all fantastic! Would highly recommend!

I ordered an Irish stew thinking I'd soak in some local flavor, but I was honestly disappointed. This may be a "me" issue, and not a them issue, but in my mind stew is thick and flavorful. This was basically soup that I had to add a lot of salt and pepper to. My daughter had a chicken burger, and though she said she liked it, the bites I sole were underwhelming. I probably would not go back given the option, but you guys be the judge. Oh, the Irish coffee was good! Prost!

Lovely place, one of the few places that serves food past 9:00PM. Great location, menu was large and had great options. Super busy and lively, but service was amazing, we had 2 servers watching over us. Had the cottage pie and salmon with chips and gravy. Fish was cooked perfectly and had big portions. read more

First food spot we tried in Dublin and this was one of the best meals I had the entire trip! I went with the Guinness Stew and we split a garlic bread for app. I LOVED the stew, it was so hearty, rich, and flavorful. Quantity is more than enough and worth the price. The meat in the stew was so tender and basically melted in your mouth. 10/10 read more

Delish food, prompt service and delivery, great location. Easy to have a few pints ahead of dinner and enjoy some live music. Can't go wrong with traditional Irish fare - beef stew was savory, and my wife's minced ground beef with mashed was also excellent. Only knock is that it feels rushed, transition the tables is a goal for every diner, so I get it, but would be nice to just take a breath and allow the hard working staff, kitchen, and patrons to - in the immortal words of Eddie Vedder, just breathe. read more
Came to The Quays on a very busy Saturday night in Dublin. We didn't have a reservation and it was understandably busy so we had a long wait. They have a very efficient number system to sit people. Once we got to our table and service was quick and efficient. I had a pale ale which was really good and refreshing. My husband and I shared a soup. I love soup in the UK. I also tried their Irish Stew and was amazing. My husband had the braised lamb and he loved it. Price was reasonable. We were very happy. I highly recommend read more

Our group of four made a quick pit stop at Quays after hearing live music from the street. The establishment was pretty large with a wrap around bar that spanned two rooms and a large dining area spaced out into sections. Our bartender was a joy to banter with and was extremely kind knowing we were not local to the area. We got a mix of drinks including a local irish whiskey and beer. The Powers Irish Whiskey she recommended may be my new go to this trip! The live music was impeccable as they did a blend of well know songs (even to our group) and classic irish jigs. Would strongly recommend anyone come out and give Quays a try! read more
While roaming about the Temple Bar area in Dublin, I wandered into The Quays since they had live music playing. It was crowded since live music was playing, but didn't have much with regards to decoration compared to similar bars in the area. It was cramped quarters inside the bar area. I didn't bother with food, and I didn't see anyone else eating either. I wound up taking in a few songs, but it was a cover band playing common hits, so went on to another bar searching for actual Irish music. read more

We arrived late in Dublin and after getting settled in to our airbnb, we were starving. Restaurants close relatively early (imo) and then your only food options are pubs. However we were traveling with a baby who wouldn't be allowed into a pub past the time when most restaurants close anyways. We decided on The Quays as it was just around the corner from our airbnb and open a half hour to hour later than most other restaurants. We were sat instantly and quickly ordered drinks and food at the same time. Almost all of the tables in the restaurant were full so we were expecting somewhat of a wait. To our delight, the food was so quick that it came before we even had all of our drinks. And it was sooo tasty. I was expecting it to be a tourist trap type place with mediocre food but I was pleasantly surprised! read more

We went on St Patrick's day so the restaurant was very busy! Despite how busy it was, the service was great. Our food came out pretty quick considering how busy the restaurant was. I had the bangers and mash on top of Irish stew, the stew was so flavorful & came out nice and hot. My friend had the fish and chips, she said it was delicious! read more

Ate here on a recent trip to Dublin. We sat upstairs and it was very lively and comfortable there. We didn't feel packed in, although it was crowded. The waiter was fine and the food even better. I would eat here again, certainly. I had the bangers and mash. Probably my favorite bangers on the vacation. read more

Fish and chips is one of the best I've had. Service... meh... wham bam thank you sir big city like. Fish is 1 inch thick quality perfection fried. Even the chips are totally crisp. Though I had brought my own salt and pepper packets this amped up the flavor profile even more. Chicken wings had a crispy pop with juicy but boney inside. Sad the restaurant is separated from the pub. Would have liked music to accommodate my delicious food. Shall return to get my Irish fill! read more

We had a great dinner here, scooting in just before a rainstorm started. I had a Guinness, but they had a lot of other options of draught beers and other beverages too. The traditional Irish lamb stew was delicious. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the seasoning was perfect. The others in my group enjoyed their meals as well which included the cottage pie and bangers and mash. For dessert, we shared an apple crumble which came with custard and cream. Service was excellent and we loved the decor which included front pages from major events. Excellent spot for dinner and a beverage! read more
