I came here to get my teeth whitened before my engagement photos and my wedding…read more I previously had my teeth whitened two years prior at a different place in Sacramento, but the dental assistant at that other place had struggled with using this flimsy "lip condom" and she got the caustic whitening material on my lips, which caused them to swell up very badly. I didn't have that problem at Brentwood Family Dental because they use more rigid plastic to protect your lips - thank goodness! The hygienist who worked on my teeth here did a great job putting the barrier on my gums to protect them from the whitening chemical. I didn't feel any stinging whatsoever. Each round of whitening included the teeth brightening paste, then some sort of light to activate it for 15 minutes. She mentioned that it makes some people's teeth feel painful or sensitive, but it wasn't so bad for me. I think the hardest part was that I was getting bored of sitting still for so long by the end of it. But oh my gosh it was worth it!! My teeth looked incredible - I had never seen them so bright in my entire life! The hygienist/ dentist made sure that I understood the "white diet" before I left, so that I didn't accidentally stain my teeth while the pores were open. It was a bit of a challenge to only eat clear or white foods and trying to avoid things that were sweet/acidic as well, but that was an important step to preserve the results. She also took a mold of my teeth so she could send me home with an at-home whitening touch-up kit for right before my wedding. I am very happy with the service and quality I experienced here and looking forward to coming back when I need teeth brightening again in the future!

I cannot begin to think Dr. Sheffield and his wonderful staff for being always so kind and welcoming when we arrive to their appointments. At every appointment we were always informed of what was going on and what the plan was for the next steps in treatment. I like how they provide patients with pictured step-by-step instructions on how to place their rubber bands because it's easy for children to forget. When my son began treatment he was given a free water pick which is really really nice because they are not cheap so that was a nice surprise. I also like how the office will have games that you can enter and win a prize. What's great is the convenience of Dr. Sheffield having two offices, one in Brentwood and one in Antioch because there are times that I have to reschedule and they give me the option of being seen at either location. What was also great is that they allow you to make payments every month while being treated. Now to talk about Dr. Sheffield 's work, if I could give him a 10 star I would because he is great at what he does. Dr. Sheffield brought to my attention that my son had a skeletal issue with his face where his jaw was not straight making his smile crooked. I would have never really noticed it if it wasn't for Dr. Sheffield. My son was treated for a little over 2 1/2 years and throughout the whole process we never had one problem.
