Just when we all thought that no one cared about anything; except making money and themselves. Here comes Gary and Homes R Us. They are not Realtors. They are friends, counselors, helpers, and ALWAYS there for you! I've never met anyone in business with more integrity or honesty than Gary. I've been in business for many years. Never have I met a man who actually cares about you and your family. They put integrity and principles above profits. And that's why they are amazing at their jobs! Other "Big Name Realtors" took a year to try to sell my family home. Gary did it in 3 months! And his firm and himself helped me in ways that would take 5 pages to write! If your looking for a realtor? You would be insane to not choose these fine people. Trust me. You will sleep better at night. And they will ALWAYS have your back! I could go on all day!

It would be easy to say that Gennady (Gary) Papirov of Homes R Us is a great realtor, very…read moreprofessional and did an outstanding job for us, but that just would not be enough. This is a story about family and friends and deserves to be told. So, please indulge me and read on. My sister and I grew up in a two-family house with our parents and cousins in South Brooklyn/Park Slope in the 1950's and 1960's. We were and still are a very close family. Careers happen and my sister moved to Los Angeles in 1978 and I in 1980. After our mother passed away in 1993, our dad would go back and forth between his house in Brooklyn where he lived with his nieces (our cousins) and Los Angeles with us. He passed away in September of 2021 in Los Angeles at my sister's house. Years before, he had set up a Living Trust for his house and had two wishes. First, to be buried with our mother and second, to sell the house when he passed so the money could go to us and our cousins. No problem, dad. We got you covered. Right? Yes, but now we needed a lawyer to execute the trust and represent us in the sale of a house, that had been in our family since 1955, as well as a realtor. None of us knew any lawyers or realtors in any of the five boroughs. Lucky for us, I had a good friend from grammar school who was a financial planner. He and I had stayed in touch over the years and he lived in Staten Island. He highly recommended a lawyer, and he and the lawyer highly recommended Gennady (Gary) Papirov of Homes R Us to be our realtor. Boy, oh boy, talk about hitting the Daily Double. Our dad loved to gamble and definitely would have appreciated the reference. Our dad was a few months shy of his 93rd birthday when he passed. He had a good life and died peacefully in his sleep. That's the good news. The not so good news is that because of Covid, he hadn't been back to Brooklyn since his last trip in 2019, and our cousins were extremely sad that they hadn't seen him since that time. Needless to say, that brought up a lot of mixed feelings around selling the house. Not that any of us were in any disagreement about fulfilling his wishes. It's just that 66 years holds a lot of memories and it was very difficult emotionally for all of us, especially our cousins who lived in the house with him and our mother longer than my sister and me. Gary Papirov was definitely the right person to be our realtor on so many levels. Yes, he is very professional, smart and honest, but this situation called for so much more. First of all, Gary lives in Staten Island and that is where Homes R Us is located, and although he also works in Brooklyn, he felt that he needed to work with a realtor in Brooklyn who he had done business with before, Albert Benzaken, and was very familiar with our area, so our cousins could feel comfortable knowing that there was someone in the neighborhood, so to speak, that they could call on if any questions came up. Truth be told, Gary could have easily taken care of our dad's house on his own with no problem and collected the entire commission for himself, but he knew that our cousins, who were all working out of the house due to Covid, needed emotional support around the scheduling to potential buyers, as well as making them feel that this was not all about the money. And another thing. There was a possibility that if our cousins could not find new homes of their own in time for the scheduling of the showings, we were going to postpone the sale. Gary never once pushed the issue. He and Albert just made sure that everyone felt at ease and never pressured. In the end, everything went well and we can't thank Gary enough for putting together a great team. When my sister and I flew back to New York in the summer to bury our dad and have a celebration of his life, everything was going well and everyone was very happy with Gary and Albert. In fact, we all got together one evening with the team and their wives for a wonderful dinner together. We broke break as friends and by the end of the evening we were a big family. Thanks Gary.

Love This Place…read more Lived here a year before we moved out (Wife got a job down South). We now regret ever leaving. Pros: 1. HARD WOOD FLOORS. Enough Said. LOL 2. Friendly Neighbors. Never had neighbors this friendly any other place we lived. 3. SUPER DOG FRIENDLY. We had a friendly and loving Pitt Bull and they took her. 4. Small but Cozy Apartment. 5. Easy and Affordable Parking! 6. INCREDIBLE MANAGEMENT OFFICE. The lady I worked with in 2012 (forgot her name) but she was super nice. Cons: 1. Have centipedes in the house (BUT this is common everywhere we lived - Co Workers told me they have same problem all over Staten Island) I would 100% recommend living here. Me and my wife are actually considering moving back to NYC because we miss this place and the community.

Downgrading earlier review to two stars. Management has really gone down hill. Slow to fix things,…read morecalls go unanswered. Just got into a spat with maintenance because my building hasn't had hot water since 6am and they were insisting I should wait until next business day(Monday 8am) to have it dealt with. One laundry room has been shut down since the fall so the entire complex (hundreds of apartments) is now reduced to only two laundry rooms, one of which is shared with st. John's college students. Floors and machines are filthy and half are out of order. Often have to call to complain to have sidewalks cleared after the snow. Two stars because they are large dog friendly, because the maintenance guys who pick up the property are nice and because the residents themselves are super friendly. For the price we found a much nicer housing option and will be leaving when our lease is up in March.

He provided not only assistance but also a strong sense of safety and hospitality that made our home feel secure and welcoming at all times. Ashley and Brandon truly make Urby what it is. He was given specific instructions not to speak to anyone on premises relative to a business for sale. He has a flyer with highlighted instructions to be discreet and not speak to anyone on premises. A covering email again recited the admonition not to speak to anyone on premises. Maurice Amar ignored the instructions and the flyer's instructions. When a business is for sale, informing the staff is extremely disruptive. It puts fear into the staff who may leave thinking there would be no place for them under a new restaurant. After all, would you book a party at a place you knew was for sale?

Do NOT list your property with Tri State Commercial. This company is made of of liars and thieves!…read moreWe were approached by Avi Akiva from Tri State to rent our commercial space and were convinced to sign an exclusive contract with them which turned out to be a huge mistake. The day after signing, Avi contacted us with an interested business. It was a business that had already approached us prior to signing the contract and had already turned down. It was this moment I realized we were approached because they already had an interested party. We explained our reasons for turning them down and hoped to move on. Unfortunately, after this interaction we were no longer able to get in contact with them for the rest of our contract length. In Avi's defense, I initially asked him to list at a rate he felt was too high. I told him I would be open to listing lower if he saw a lack of interest. After the 1st month, I was ready to lower our rate, but could not get in contact with Avi to make the change. Every time I called, he would answer that he was busy and needed to give me a call back. I never got any of these call backs. So i texted him to arrange a time better for him. He would respond with a voice message that he would call me back "thursday" which he never would. After about the 6th attempt with no call back, I accepted that he was purposely avoiding my calls. Since we had another unavoidable 5 months left on our contract, I checked into the ads that they had posted on our behalf and found multiple issues. Not only were we LISTED IN THE WRONG LOCATION!!! but even the important details were wrong such as square footage which was listed at lower than existing. Our property is located in Williamsburg on the waterfront. They listed us in Flatbush. During this time we were also contacted by multiple realtors with interested clients who expressed their refusal to work with Tri State Realty. But we told them we had no choice but to wait for our contract to end. Had we known about their reputation earlier, we definitely would not have signed with them. I hope this prevents others from making the same mistake I did.
