It's a small place, but several tables were available, it was quiet, and they were fine that we didn't speak much French...like at all! We all had pho and got an order of spring rolls. The spring rolls were HOT and served with a yummy vinegary sauce. The pho had amazing flavored broth. My husband liked the hoisin sauce and I loved the homemade sriracha on the tables. My daughter loved the tender slices of steak in our soup!!! Sooo good! We also had aperol spritz and Coca Cola. We also noticed we didn't get the "traditional" sprouts, mint, and jalapeños like we do in the states, and while we didn't ask about them, a French woman sitting next to us did, and the server brought her some bean sprouts. We did get some sliced red peppers/chilis...and BEWARE--they are spicy! I love spicy, and these had my mouth fired up! Haha! This is a little hole in the wall place and there werent many people seated at the restaurant. I ordered the rare beef pho while my friend had a combo pho. He also ordered an appetizer of these rice paper dumplings filled with ground pork. The first thing I noticed was the smell of the broth when the pho came out. It was incredible! The broth was so flavorful and one of the best I've had in a very long time. Didn't need to add any extra sauces :) Lots of noodles and very tender meat. I appreciated they give you a ton of meat. The veggie portion was minimal, the overall portion was small, and the pho had just a hint of its usual aroma. I've had everything from authentic pho to halfway decent versions, but this was bare-bones pho. On the plus side, they didn't dilute the broth, so it wasn't completely watered down. It was a hybrid of Bo Kho (Vietnamese beef stew) and Kapoon (Lao curry soup). She loved it. Being Vietnamese, my bro and I had to try the Pho Bo (beef) out. It was much better than the pho I had in London! It was more on the herby side than bone/broth side, and had a slight sweetness to it (again, it could just be different than from what I get in the US). It hit the spot. A thing to note: while they will give you sriracha ot, you'll need to request tuong (hoison sauce) - which tastes much different than the tuong Ive had before. It's much runnier here and not heavy and sweet. All in all, a great experience. The food was better than what I had expected, and the service was better even more so. The only reason I notched them down a star is because it's quite pricey for Vietnamese food in my opinion. Those egg rolls ran 8€ when it would usually be $4 in the US.

My boyfriend had the Soupe Tonkinoise au Bouef et Boulettes (11€) which in Vietnamese is a Pho Tai Bo Vien and I had the Riz Luc Lac au Boeuf (12€) which in Vietnamese should be the Com Bo Luc Lac. The meal was affordable and it tasted okay but my issue is the lack of authenticity. Com Bo Luc Lac usually has onions and tomatoes with the beef. This was only beef and there was no sauce glaze on it. Also restaurant usually served it with a side of salad. Vietnam is an agricultural country and most of our dishes usually have a plethora of veggies. My boyfriend isn't even a picky guy but he said his Pho was below average.
