Dr. Gallagher did a thorough eye exam and was very knowledgeable about my specific vision issues (relating to side effects from a previous procedure and an illness). He took time to answer all of my questions and I didn't feel like he was in a hurry. Back in the area where frames are sold, there was no pressure to buy frames from them. In fact, they gave me a laminated card with my prescription to take with me (presumably to make it easier to buy frames elsewhere if I wanted to). I had some unique vintage frames that I wanted to get my new prescription put into and they were able to do them for me on the premises. It's unique to find a place where someone with this skill actually works in the shop. The glasses were ready in a few days and reasonably priced. Every single person there was pleasant and helpful. I know you can buy cheap glasses online, but I'm happy to support brick and mortar businesses in the community that offers excellent service. You get what you pay for.

Framer not in shop, they order frame to send to her off-site. 3. Took over 5 weeks to get the framed work -clerk told me 2-3 wks (had logistical excuses). 4. Framer didn't score the glass right, one edge wasn't clean. They charged a premium. 5. Didn't offer to fix; when I asked (since I'm paying $73), clerk had to text framer off-site and see IF she would fix it. 6. She would, but won't get to it until after 10/21 (whenever convenient for her). No delivery date. Since it's my diploma in a hostage situation, I had to endure. They messed up, charged a lot, no customer service/regret/communication (didn't call when it was going to take longer the first time), wasn't going to rush to correct a mistake. I called a week after 10/21 and they had no idea when I'll get my framed diploma; like I was bothering them by asking questions. 8 weeks of painful experience.
