Highly recommend, first dentist that believed and validated my pain when getting dental work done. I started visiting him 10 years ago when he was recommended for my son's tongue tie revision. We spoke briefly how i had a traumatic past with dentists and no one being able to keep me numb while getting work done. He asked if i had the red head gene (im naturally blonde but was born with red hair) I said yes and he said that's why. Today was a perfect example of him helping fix an old crown that needed replacing from a prior dentist. I was able to stay numb the ENTIRE time. the Crown was made in house so i didn't have to come back again. Dr. Hansen is a concerned professional who makes sure the job gets done and done right. We came with our 5 week old who had already visited and ENT for tongue tie issues. The ENT told us that she didn't appear to be tongue tied. He only clipped the tongue but not the lip. When we came to Dr. Hansen my daughter would comfort suck but not swallow or she would be very sleepy on the breast, she would make clicking sounds and was having poor weight gain. Dr. Hansen performed more than one revision, his staff was available at times on a daily basis. He made sure the feeding issues were resolved. He has an excellent body worker, Sarah and a lactation consultant Jessica and at times Lisa, on staff who were also very helpful. It's been over 2 weeks since my daughter's last revision and she's doing so much better, almost all her symptoms are gone and she seems so happy now. I will always be grateful with Dr. Hansen and his staff. He has state of the art laser surgery equipment and a pleasant office. read more

My wife and I have been going to Hansen Dentistry for over 3 years. We have never had anything but great service. The dentil hygienists have been wonderful and always do a thorough and pleasing job. Dr. Hansen is a professional who cares about his patients. I don't use any numbing services and Dr. Hansen is still painless. Such a wonderful experience. I've ignored the dentist due to a horrible past experience where since then if I absolutely had to go I would need oral sedation. However, one day I chipped my tooth and found out I needed more work done than expected. Dr. Hansen was awesome and so was his staff. Not only did they go above and beyond explaining what they were going to do, but throughout all my work he would give me updates on what he was doing along with any sounds or vibrations I may experience. This review if for my visit on 4/19/16. Absolutely loved the excellent dental care and 5-star personalized service! Quick check in (again). Hygienist Shirley and dental assistant Dana were awesome. Dr. Simpson replaced a very large, old silver filling (yuk!) with a tooth-colored composite & added a crown for a toothat that had cracked in 3-4 places because of the silver filling. I greatly appreciate the office's focus on what I really need and NOT on upselling. It took me 12 years to find a dentist I trust and like so I'm going back to see Dr. Simpson for ALL my dental care! I refer patients to Dr Hansen regularly. When babies are not nursing well, I check for short frenulums, and I show parents what is going on. As a Lactation Consultant I see many sides to how a baby feeds. In some cases the short frenulum(s) impair effective breast feeding. I am so thankful for someone to refer these parents. read more

We are a family of four. We quite liked our previous dentist; however, there were two issue why we wanted to switch dentist. Primary reason for switching was so we could be in-network. Secondary reason was we were looking for something closer to our residence. After reading great reviews for Hanson Dentistry, Apex, I wanted to give them a try. Even though, they were no closer to us then our previous dentist, they were in-network. So, I scheduled an appointment for my son. The appointment scheduling went smooth and left me with a positive overall impression of the front-desk staff. The day of our appointment, I filled out the necessary new patient forms. It turned out that they require credit card to be stored on-file which I was not comfortable with. The staff insisted and told me that the only way they could proceed with the service was for me to provide them my credit card for online storage. Being in IT security practice myself and the frequent hacks that you hear about where sensitive data is compromised, I did not feel comfortable leaving my credit card on file with the practice. The staff then told me that I would have to pay the entire cost of the service up front and then once the insurance pays out, they would send me a refund check. I didn't have a problem with that so I requested that we proceed as such. The appointment was for a general clean-up with minor gum over-growth. The hygienist came to get my son and within few minutes, we were all done. We didn't have any particular issue with the service provided. However, since we were looking to switch a family of four, I would have liked to have met Dr. Hansen (dentist) himself. Seemed like they were too busy to meet the new patient. In summary, my thought on Hansen Dentistry practice is that the front-desk personnel should be better trained to handle situation like ours. Also, to grow practice it is imperative that new patients have a chance to meet the doctor so they have a better insight into the doctor and the practice in general. read more

We have had really bad service from dr. Simpson. He tries to cut corners to save his cost. He broke a file in my tooth during a root canal. He played it down. Root canal never worked, the crown never stayed on. I had to get the tooth extracted. He did not even feel bad about it and took responsibility. I have taken him to small claims, but the judge (and his lawyer) requested an expert testify where I had the xray showing the broken file in the tooth and the bill to get it extracted by an oral surgeant. Cant fight and win with the courts if you are right!! usually courts are for the faulty part, because most the laws are created by faulty parties to protect the faulty party not the right party I will stay away from him!! read more

I took my son to Hansen Dentistry to get his tongue tie evaluated when he was 8 weeks old. The lactation consultant was very pro-breastfeeding and led me to believe that this procedure would be quick, easy, and would most likely fix the problems we had been having. She said a few things that made me think twice (she told me to put my baby to sleep on his stomach, for example), but I was desperate and went through with the procedure, which I regret to this day. My poor baby screamed worse than he has for shots, and the recovery was horrible. He is a super laid back baby, but he was really fussy for over a week and had a very hard time re-learning to use his tongue (even drinking from a bottle). The LC also told me not to give him a bottle, but he would have starved himself. I came back for my follow-up appointment and told them about how poorly he was doing, plus there was no improvement in breastfeeding, and Dr. Hansen basically had nothing to say except sorry. They never followed up with me again except to send me a $260 bill, and when I expressed my concerns they just said sorry and sent me another bill. I totally regret putting my baby through the procedure and feel that I was misled about the recovery process and the reality of being able to breastfeed. I know a lot of desperate mamas like me want to do whatever we can to breastfeed, but I wish I never had this procedure done and would not recommend it unless your pediatrician suggests it. read more
