They were willing to work with me on prices and time, there was actually a time that I completely missed my appointment and they still did my procedure. Having moved from Florida in April, I felt a little spoiled with the dentist I had seen for more than 15 years. I was not disappointed with my visit to Bass & Watson and feel like I have found the dental practice I hoped for. All front desk staff were friendly, professional, and helpful--greeting me with a smile and welcoming words. Allison brought me back to the treatment area--ensuring that I was fully informed about how the visit would proceed, the time it would take, describing everything she was doing, and making extra efforts to make me comfortable along the way. She is a gem. Upon meeting Dr. Watson, I was relieved because it was obvious he was detail oriented, professional, and experienced--and he also had a terrific chair-side manner. I'm no stranger to the dentist office after having a lot of work done on my teeth over the past 3 decades, so I know what feels right in a dental office environment and what doesn't. When I went in for my consultation, Dr. Bass listened to all my concerns and answered any questions I had. He also provided me a treatment plan that worked best for my wallet. When I started the treatment plan, he allowed me to schedule when it was best for me, explained step by step expectations, allowed me to choose something to watch on the TV. He also provided me a neck pillow as I suffered from a car accident. He would take breaks as I needed and allowed me to hold onto a tool (suction tool) to allow my to use it when I needed and this helped me feel I was in control. The treatment was quick, painless, and my teeth look beautiful. This place is absolutely amazing. Everyone on staff is talented and kind. Dr. Bass put my mind and anxiety at ease. The initial exam was extremely brief, with no clear explanation, no X-rays shown, and no introductions -- we didn't know who was the dentist or assistant. During the deep cleaning, a hygienist/assistant administered anesthesia and did the entire procedure without the dentist present or supervising. The dentist only appeared afterward, did not introduce herself, and gave no post-procedure guidance. I had to ask basic questions about care and eating afterward. Later, we were told additional fillings were required, which were never mentioned during the visit. Billing seemed excessive. When we raised concerns, the dentist adamantly insisted everything was done correctly, dismissed our questions, and offered no apology or acknowledgment. The receptionist was also unprofessional and dismissive when asked about billing. The clinic later refused to continue care rather than address the issues. Overall, this experience demonstrated arrogance, lack of transparency, and disregard for patient communication and rights.

Very Disappointing Experience - Lack of Transparency and Poor Communication…read more I visited this clinic today for my second periodic evaluation, which should have been covered under the in-house insurance plan I purchased from them (which includes two free visits). However, I was shocked to be charged $262 today without any prior notice. They claimed that because I used a different insurance for a tooth removal at another visit, my in-house insurance was void. This was never communicated to me--neither when I used the other insurance nor at the start of today's visit. At no point did anyone inform me that I would be charged or that my plan was no longer valid. This lack of transparency and failure to communicate important information is unacceptable. Patients deserve to be clearly informed about their benefits and any potential charges before services are rendered. I feel misled and extremely disappointed with the way this was handled. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this practice to others.

I have been a patient of his…read morefor about 15 years and have been pleased with his monitoring my teeth and determining how to save them. I have had a number of procedures done to combat my bone loss which has slowed down and stabilized my bone loss. For the teeth that died or needed to be replaced he placed implants which have all been successful. Besides that, I have experienced little pain. One of my central incisors became loose and useless after biting into toffee. Other teeth around it were not secure enough to support one implant. So all four incisors were removed, and implants were inserted and secured to canine teeth. The dentist who created the crowns remarked that she knew Kazmer did the implants because they were perfectly aligned. It was an impressive job he did, and I have had no problems in the two years I have had them. It's not just me and another local dentist. I have had the need to visit UNC Dentistry, and the professor/dentist there was happy that I went to Kazmer because he is the best! Besides his excellence, he has always been very professional along with his staff. His dental hygienists have been thorough, knowledgeable and helpful. And other staff, including office staff and financial consultants, have been top-notch. Plus Kazmer recommends prescription toothpaste which he offers at a discount!!

We arrived on time to check in at the front desk; however, due to a minor dispute regarding insurance coverage and payment installments, the receptionist consulted the manager and asked us to wait a few minutes. We ended up waiting a full half-hour before the manager finally appeared to speak with us. Throughout the entire interaction, she maintained a cold and frosty demeanor; none of the requests or questions we raised were properly addressed or clearly explained. Ultimately, she issued an ultimatum: since it was too late in the day, we would have to reschedule for a different time if we still wanted to proceed with the treatment. When we inquired with the hygienist, we were told the earliest available appointment was a month and a half away--at which point the manager coldly asked if we wished to accept that slot. This was particularly frustrating because we had visited the clinic just a week prior, had already undergone X-rays, and had even taken the prescribed pre-treatment antibiotics. Yet, due to this manager's stalling tactics, we were unable to receive our treatment today. Outraged by this turn of events, we decided to cancel all future dental appointments at this clinic. We are left wondering: was this a case of racial discrimination because of our Asian appearance? In any case, today at this dental clinic--Kazmer Periodontics & Implant Dentistry--we endured the worst experience and the most distressing ordeal imaginable!
