Excellent place for a great latte, complete with latte art, and Asian baristas who speak Spanish. The interior is decorated very cute, clean and modern. I thought their lattes were pretty cheap at $2 euros a pop, and well made. They have quality beans here and know how to make a good espresso drink. The baristas are also very quick, when I was there they had a huge line and I was still served in about 5 minutes flat. Their choices for lattes are also unique, with a red velvet latte and a matte latte coming in at less then 3 Euros each. Keep in mind this place prefers cash but will take card if you spend over 5 euros. If you try a homemade matcha cake or other random pastries they have you will easily hit the 5 mark with both items. I didn't try the cake but it did look good. I thought this place was really a great value for the price. The interior had nice large windows for sitting at and people watching, as well as art to look at. They didn't seem to mind the odd people there sitting and working or socializing, so it was a chill place to hangout. The area surrounding here is also good for exploring. It consists of bookshops, boutiques for shopping and small restaurants for a bite to eat. Overall I thought this place was a great find. Friendly staff, excellent brew, nice people watching and bargain prices. I will surely be back when in Madrid again. read more

Came here on a Tuesday night after finding this place on Yelp and I can definitely say it's one of the cutest places I've been to in Malasaña. Malasaña is already filled with so many nice cafes so I had a pretty high standard coming to this place based on the pictures I saw of the products they had there and it definitely did not disappoint. It was pretty busy when I got there but I was able to find a seat at a long table close to the counter. I ordered the red velvet latte and the matcha green tea cake. Both were very delicious and very aesthetically pleasing. However, the red velvet latte was a little to sweet for me. I was very excited looking at all the amazing reviews and pictures of this place. I really really wanted to go and see what they had to offer for the great reviews they had. It was about a good one hour public transportation from where I was staying in Madrid... I got there according to my map and I dont see any cafe. I saw another place right next to this place and I asked about Hanso Cafe and the lady told me it was closed and that they were on a vacation. I just thought is this some kind of a joke!! dont they need to put in somewhere online because according to google and yelp they are open!! wasted my time and energy going to this place! read more

Stumbled on this super cute coffee shop and of course popped in to see if they made iced coffee beverages (still not really a thing in Spain). Service was prompt and the coffee was solid, though Spain could still use some work on their ice game as the coffee quickly melted our drink as soon as we stepped outside. read more

Smoked salmon toast was delicious!! My friends and I came here (you may have to wait for a table as it is small and a lot of people were here!) and I thought the feel of the place was great. They also had a few iced drinks which can be hard to find in Madrid. I thought it was great coffee and a good place for breakfast! The staff also spoke English! read more

Been a while since I had a matcha latte, so when I saw they had them here...I had to go try it out! The place was packed when we walked in! Usually a good sign! We had intended to eat breakfast here but with the crowd, we just opted to get our drinks to go. The food we saw coming out looked delicious though! I got my matcha latte and the hubby got an americano. He said the americano was one of the best he has had here in Spain. My latte was excellent as well! Great find of a cafe in Madrid. Centrally located and easy walking distance from many attractions. If you are looking for something familiar to coffee shops in the states then it's THE place for you. Cold brew is a must on a hot summer day and their is the strongest I found in Spain so far. Lots of bakery items but we came early afternoon and before our lunch plan so didn't order any. Fast service as well which is a plus when you are on the go. I would recommend it to try as a gourmet coffee place with great food selection. read more

Third time is a charm! Ive been wanting to try Hanso for awhile now but everytime I came by, it was always packed. So today I decided to wake up early and beat the crowd lol The cafe is open at 10 and I got there around 10:15 and it was semi packed already! By 11-11:30, it was completely filled. Thats just how well loved this place is. I love the atmosphere here. You have a mix of people here to get work done and others who are here to just simply enjoy each others company. It was vibrant. If you need to get work done, highly suggest you bring headphones because it can get distracting. The wifi is amazingly strong!! I was working online and listening to spotify the whole time without any disruption. This place attracts a lot of foreigners. Being a foreigner myself, I quite enjoy it. I miss hearing English sometimes when Im in Spain. The workers speak English very well so you will definitely not have trouble ordering at all if Spanish isnt your forte. Got their famous Matcha Latte and a croissant because they dont make waffles early in the morning. The matcha was not overpowered by the milk and the croissant was simply delicious!! Overall experience I would say this is definitely my favorite coffee shop in Madrid. read more

I found Hanso Cafe by accident on yelp and immediately got interested of the green stuff that they serve with coffee and different dishes. It's called matcha and tastes much like any other green powder (like spirulina etc.), surprisingly it goes amazingly well with coffees and waffles (that i tried with my visit)! The prices are very good and the quality is amazing, and the taste was just... hands down delicious! With the HUGE size of matcha waffles they also serve fresh berries and fruits, i couldn't even finish my whole serving so i took rest of the food with me for later. Definitely felt like it was worth of 6,50€! And i will for sure come back soon :) The place was nice, a bit crowded at 7pm on thursday evening (closes at 8). A decent cafe serving decent coffee. One thing I really want with my cappuccino is the milk to be textured properly and for the heat to correct. In other words, not scalding hot, but hot enough that it doesn't go cold straight away. My cappuccino here went cold within about 2 minutes because it came out really really lukewarm. One of the coolest specialty coffees I've had anywhere. It just wasn't made properly. They other thing is that the cup wasn't filled to the top - it was a good 1 or 2cm short and looked really odd. The matcha cake was good and the vibe here was quite relaxed. I'd be happy to come here again, but I'd ask them to heat the milk more and fill the cup to the top. read more

Wowwowwow! COME HERE! I came a couple weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon around 3, and the place was full! All the pictures I've seen on yelp of their breakfast foods looked awesome so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered a flat white and an eggs Benedict bagel sandwich. I brought my laptop to do homework, and they told me I can only use my laptop on the long wooden table, probably to prevent spilling food/drinks since their other tables are pretty small. The waiters all speak good English too! The flat white was smooth and the espresso was strong, definitely good quality. The bagel took about 10 minutes to arrive, and then I swear it sang to me as it was brought over. They don't skimp on ingredients!!! It was LOADED with avocado (almost too much if you will, like whaaaat!!) and it had bacon, egg, and hollandaise sauce. IT WAS AMAZING. It filled me up for the rest of the day. They also have homemade cakes, waffles, and toast that also look delicious. The place fills up quickly, but so worth every euro. Dreaming of this place as we speak! read more

As in American in Madrid I've struggled finding good breakfast spots their traditional breakfast is tomato a fried egg and a piece of toast I was missing the carbs, bacon, the runny egg, and all the heavy delicious American breakfast traditions. Until I found this gem it's a hole in the wall but it's well worth the drive most delicious breakfast I've had in Spain thus far. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a late breakfast or a hefty big sandwich with tons of bacon and cheese. read more

I love matcha cake and was recommended to try theirs. I ordered a cappuccino, matcha cake, and a croissant con tocino y queso. Unfortunately, they no longer had any bacon so they offered a ham and cheese sandwich instead. The matcha cake was light and moist, more of a bread than cake but yummy. The croissant was buttery and flaky like a croissant should be. The cappuccino was good but nothing spectacular. The service here is excellent. This cafe was a lovely find. It's a small shop with more seating than you might expect. It's cozy, and it's easy to order your coffee. My husband and I had the red velvet latte and white mocha with oat milk. The coffee was very good, and the flavors for both drinks were just right. Mine tasted just like red velvet, and the whole cup was a smooth sip. The white mocha became #1 on my husband's list of best white mochas. It wasn't overly sweet, and the ratio of milk to espresso was good. We enjoyed waiting out the rain in this cafe. While we didn't try any of the food, we looked at the menu and what others were eating, and nothing looked disappointing. With only a few hours before our flight to the U.S., we dashed to the nearest cafe we could find for breakfast. We did not expect to find this hip cafe with hip Asian staff with delicious food in the middle of Madrid. We ordered the red velvet latte (because why not), egg and avocado toast, and iced matcha latte. WOW. Some darn good food and drink. The red velvet latte was one of the most delicious drinks I have ever had. Get it. And excellent egg and avocado toast (quite large) for a good price. The books lining the shelves give it extra character and the playlist was a nice mix of boho vibes and a little Jungle mixed in. My daughter joined me and the aunties and we all ordered different versions of eggs on toast. I had the poached eggs, which were cooked a bit too well for my like. Others in the group ordered the halloumi eggs on toast and weren't fans of the sweet tomato sauce. Service from our server was nice though and the drinks were refreshing.
