I said, "Flouride, No. X-rays I will have transferred from the last dentist, so hold off." It seemed like she was low on attentiveness, so I asked another staff member to ensure that no x-rays would be taken. She confirmed she would do so. 30 minutes later when my son came out, I asked him how it went and confirmed they didn't take x-rays. He told me they actually took a pile of x-rays. The woman behind the counter said 'I'm sorry. You said no flouride but for x-rays you had a longer answer. It wasn't no." I don't know if this is incompetence, negligence, or otherwise, but it's deeply disturbing. "We will not bill you for them," she said. I reach back out to the office to inform him of what was told to me, he asked me to come in as he didn't want to lose me as a customer and told me he would fix the tooth free of charge. I go back to the office its a completely different Dr. Checking the tooth this day. She requested that I pay $2000 to get the Canal started. So I declined the services as I was promised to have the tooth corrected free of charge by Dr. Calian being as though prior to him placing the crown the tooth needed to have a root canal. Mind you I've going to this dentist for several years at this point. I called the office back again about a month ago I was promised a call back with a resolution. Never happened!! Now I have to pay to have a brand new crown done again. #1 I was severally burnt on the lip with one of the tools being used during a procedure. #2 All customers records were lost or stolen in 2020 These are key signs that I should have left. When scheduling, I made it very clear that I would need nitrous due to dental anxiety. After arriving, I waited over an hour past my appointment time, only to finally be told by the receptionist--without any empathy--that I couldn't have nitrous because they had "used the last of the oxygen." This is not a small oversight. For patients with anxiety, this kind of preparation and communication is essential. To wait that long, after traveling and arranging childcare for a newborn, only to be dismissed so casually is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. If you experience dental anxiety and rely on accommodations like nitrous, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This office does not seem equipped to handle those needs with the care or consideration they require.

On arrival the office is very clean. We were greeted by the Doctor's receptionist who by the way is lovely. The doctor saw my husband. Then the three of us sat down and spoke about the treatment plan. Dr. Dogus was pleased that I asked a lot of questions and was happy to answer any of my concerns. HIPAA protects patient medical info from being discussed without the patient's consent. I just provided everything that happened, so you responding would not violate HIPAA. I'm sure you know this, though, because you had no issue blasting out another reviewer's information below. I'll be waiting for the returned call since you care so much about patient satisfaction. ORIGINAL: So the practice sent me a text asking me to review my appointment, and here it is... First off, i should say the front office staff and assistants are lovely. They also have an adorable office dog Beyond that, this appointment was a train wreck in slow motion. I had written in to their website about my desire for the dentist to fill in two small cracks in bonding that I have on my front teeth. The dentist walks in, asked me what I was there for (and i told him), and then proceeds to look into my mouth and say "yeesh" in a manner of disgust. He spent at least the next half hour poking and prodding, telling his dental assistant everything that was horribly wrong with my mouth and how it needed to be fixed. Despite the insults, He laid out a new treatment plan which I was actually pretty excited about and was going to look into further, but after the rest of my experience, there's no way I will be returning to this practice. When it came time to filling the chips, he responded "today?" as if he was confused. I said yes, and he took a look at the chips and told me how horrible the bonding was and how he had a different technique that could give me the same results but without adding more bonding. I trusted his judgment, as he is a talented dentist (from the pics i saw) and agreed. He spent about five minutes changing the shape of my teeth by my gums, and rather than fill the chips, he simply shaved down the teeth that they were in. Looking at it lying down, it looked OK, but when I sat up and looked at it, I was shocked to see that my tooth looked like a baby tooth-- the exact reason I got bonding on it in the first place. This is where the tide changes. He could tell I was unhappy, and I told him why, and he asked if I wanted him to fix it, to which I replied, I did. His response was " "Well you're gonna have to wait" and he stormed out of the room to go see another patient who was waiting for him. He eventually came back, and began to add bonding to the tooth to fix it to its original form. Five minutes later when he was done, I pointed out that the tooth was much darker than the rest of them. He agreed, but became obviously angry. He tried to fix the color, while quite literally huffing and puffing the entire time. By the time he was done, I wasn't happy with the color being still off (though not as bad) and not the same shape it was before (still shorter). Beyond being less than satisfied with my dental work, what left me in a horrible mood when leaving this office was how absolutely CRUEL he was to his staff. He demeaned them over and over again in front of me, and would occasionally get up to scream at them down the hall. I've never had an experience like this in ANY establishment (, it should be known that I work in a maximum security prison). I was and still am mortified for the poor girls on staff. What should've been a 15 minute appointment in simply filling in tiny chips turned into a little over two hours. I am so disappointed. Edited to add that my tooth is so discolored and disjointed , i have to take the day off work tomorrow to get it fixed. And of course pay more money.
