Meat variety sucks. There was a slight smell. Service was non-existent. And they cleared the food one hour before closing time.

Located in the Central Station. Easy access by train or bus. Price: dinner $69-$79, breakfast $59, not sure about lunch. The price doesn't include drinks. But the drink prices are normal and affordable. Food: huge variety!!! Believe me! My partner and I have tried other buffet package in other restaurants and hotels around Brisbane and Gold Coast. This has been our most favourite. The price worth what you get! I've posted many pictures of the restaurants and some of the food. Check them out! Huge variety in starters, main food, SEAFOOD, and desserts. I cannot mention each of the food because it's too many. Hehe Service: the best! The waitress was very friendly with nice genuine smile. She kept our table always clean every time and kept on refilling water without us asking for more. She always serve things for me first and then my partner. That is the correct manner of serving meal/drinks in restaurants, which is ladies first. My partner booked a table for this dinner and requested a special seating because it's for our anniversary dinner. And when we arrived, we were placed in perfect spot in the corner, with great view, and feeling more private. It was the first great impression of the night. They did not forget our request. At the end of the night when we were enjoying our desserts, a waitress came with a complementary sweets plate from the chef, with candle and plate was written 'happy anniversary'. That was really nice. (Check out the picture). This kind of amazing service will the one make us to keep coming back to this place. I'll update this review or write another review if I try their breakfast buffet next time. Hopefully it's as good as the dinner :)

I loved the desert selection it was huge!! They had the tastiest prawns! Will definitely be back X

If you've ever visited or lived in China, you'll know how much the locals love community. Community…read moremah jong? A+! Community exercise? A+! Simple, delicious community restaurant to enjoy with all your extended family and friends? A+! 100 degrees pretty readily captures the idea of community. Wander in any day of the night and it will be predictably full of young Chinese extended families enjoying hot pot. Sometimes there is a wait, so book ahead! They're pretty good with calling you if a vacancy pops up earlier than they predicted too! The concept of hot pot (or steamboat as the Cantonese Chinese call it) is pretty simple: you get your own Bunsen burner, light it and pop a bowl of soup on top. Then you dip raw meat slices, raw vegetables, tofu, fish and seafood into the soup to cook. Then you nom! (NB: the soup is purely for cooking & flavoring! Don't drink it or sip it or you might look out of place!) In Japan they call this style of food "shabu shabu." In Mandarin Chinese, it's "xiabu xiabu" (same pronunciation, though). In Brisbane, I call it yummy. There are 4 soup options: mushroom, satay, chilli and a lemon flavored one. Ordinarily I would go right for the chilli and satay - which is the way I've seen locals do it in China. But this time, I was dining with a chili-phobe, so we opted for satay and mushrooms. There's a veritable smorgasbord of raw meats, mounds of seafood (the lobster balls are awesome!) and of course veggies and tofu. Mix yourself a little bowl of dipping sauce from soy, sesame oil & chilli or peanut, sesame sauce and shallots and chomp away to your hearts' content. There are also a couple of pre-made stirfries available, as well as some dumplings, spring rolls, fried fish etc. But for me, the best part was that they serve mantou! Mantou are little white steamed or grilled bread dumplings. They have no discernible sweet or savoury flavour, so can be eaten either way. My preference is to dunk them in sticky condensed milk. I used to eat these as a sweet treat at my uni dining hall in China, and literally haven't had them since 2008. It really brought home that feeling of community & Chinese comfort food. Oh, and it's $28.80 for all you can eat incl soft drink & tea. Or 14.40 if you're a kid under 120cm. Kids under three are free! So, there's no reason why not to go enjoy some comfort food with the Chinese community!

If there is one food I miss from when I lived in China, it is definitely hot pot. It looks like I'm…read morenot the only one because 100 degree was teeming with customers when we visited. 100 Degree is a hot pot buffet. $28.80 gets you a pot with broth (4 choices) and access to a huge variety of hot pot fillers (e.g., meat, veggies, seafood, tofu, eggs, noodles... you name it, they have it), sauces to dip food in, non-alcoholic drinks (winter melon tea was a sight for sore eyes), hot dishes (e.g., veggies in oyster sauce, salt and pepper squid), dumplings, spring rolls, plain and fried rice and ice cream. Phew! In other words, make sure you go in hungry. If you are a hot pot newbie, the concept is actually pretty simple. You tell the waiter what broth you want in your pot, pay, go to the buffet and pick up whatever you want to chuck in the pot, wait for it to boil, fish it out and let it cool for a bit, then dip it in some sauce and voi la, you're good to go. The restaurant is licensed, so you can pay extra for wine, beer or sake. The staff were really helpful, especially when the pots started bubbling all over the place. Don't worry - if your table isn't a complete mess after eating hot pot, you're probably doing it wrong. I confess I'm not actually a huge fan of buffets because I have a hard time controlling my gluttonous tendencies and invariably end up feeling ill. My bad. Close on $30 is pricey enough to make me feel inclined to pig out, especially since we weren't eating any of the meat/seafood. I thought the soup bases were ok but was disappointed the hot and spicy soup base wasn't actually spicy (1 out of 5 on the chilli scale for me). However, this place gets a definite thumbs up from me for providing tonnes of foods like lotus root and several kinds of mushroom and beancurd-based products which I haven't seen since I was in China and miss desperately. It was hot pot and it was good! If you're like me and in great need of a hot pot fix or are just looking to try something a little bit different, give 100 Degree a go.

And that's not to say that dinner at Sizzling Mongolian isn't good, it is, but just don't expect mind-blowing greatness - that's all. You walk into a restaurant that's decorated to remind you that you might just be dining in a Mongolian tent in the middle of the desert (if you weren't surrounded by views of the Brisbane city in the distance), and once you're seated you walk casually to the balcony where you follow this routine. I warn you, while it isn't as strict as ordering soup from the Soup Nazi, there is a process that keeps this restaurant moving in an orderly manner. 1. Pick your bowl up from table 1 2. Select your meat from the freezer cabinet. There's lamb, beef, pork and chicken. All sliced thinly, frozen and ready to make friends with the vegetables you're about to introduce them to. 3. And there's step 3. Shuffle two steps to your right and fill your bowl up with freshly cut cabbage, bean sprouts, carrot, capsicum, pineapple, tomato, bok choy and shallots. 4. Shuffle another two steps to your right to the sauce table. Chilli, soy sauce, lemon, garlic, coriander and about a handful more sauces to select to add "flavour" your dish. 5. Take a turn behind you and leave your bowl on the counter for the Iron Chef to cook your meal on the massive outdoor BBQ (not your standard backyard barbie, okay). Wait about a nano second before going back to your table to devour your meal. Repeat this as many times as your stomach will allow. I managed two. How many bowls can you do?

From the hours of 9pm to 11:30pm on a Friday and Saturday night, you can get up there and try out your singing voice in front of the restaurant. You can pick your song and be a star, or be boo'd off stage. Hey listen, I got up there with my friend and we were terrible and people still cheered us on! I think the worse the singer you are, the more cheer you got. A verrrry good incentive for those shy ones! So yes, the food is very tasty, especially the deep fried beef strips in peking sauce... oh so yum. But visit for the karaoke... not many chinese restaurants do this... and it's worth a shot! I tried it for a week but then I realised I just don't have the money. So in a pinch, I find myself at Sushi Station Buffet Express in West End. And it's not half bad, not what I expected at all. From Monday to Thursday, $20 gets you all you can eat buffet that consists of one side of the buffet teeming with sushi (mostly the real raw stuff, not canned tuna and mayo), pour-your-own miso soup, and rice. On the other side you have the cooked deliciousness such as gyoza (steamed dumplings), prawn 'dim sims', fried chicken, spring rolls, and mixed vegetables to name a few. I'll admit it's not entirely traditionally Japanese cuisine, but it very tasty. And try the green tea jelly for dessert; its an acquired taste but I love it. On the weekends enjoy an exclusively seafood buffet for $25 per person, all of which is surprisingly fresh. There is unlimited green tea and water on offer, but soft drinks are extra. It's not fancy inside the restaurant but it does boast a simplistic charm. Or maybe I'm making that up because, in all honesty, I don't care what I'm sitting on when I'm on my fifth plate of food. If you're strapped for cash but need a whole lot of food, definitely check this place out as it is tasty. But if you're looking for high end cuisine and atmosphere its probably best to look elsewhere. And note: cash only!

Since I JUST moved to Brisbane, I had to rely on my fellow Yelpers. Thank you Yelpers for being there for me. I was also reassured when I walked in and it was ONLY Korean people customers. I will give them that. I don't know if that's how they do here in Australia or just at this particular restaurant. Our meals came out in an appropriate amount of time.
