My family and I came in around 10pm on a Thursday night. It's quite hard to find places that are open that late in the area so we were glad to have found this place. It was surprisingly busy for the time of day it was. We posted a few different items- chocolate boba bao, soup dumplings, shrimp and pork salad rolls (summer rolls) and a bowl. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. The chocolate bao seemed like it may have been a newer item and they may have been working some kinks out. While the Chocolate bun was unique and good, the boba on the inside was still hard. The salad roll was super tasty! Overall we enjoyed our experience here and would return again. read more

Imagine if you ordered their lemon chicken for dinner but found that it was probably cooked six hours earlier, then sat in a bin at the counter for the rest of the day. Okay very quickly I'll get the negative out of the way. We arrived around 8:15 on Thursday 4/25/24. It was quiet. I needed to use the restroom, and our boys had to wash hands. There was no soap in the men's restroom and the women's wasn't the cleanest... There were A LOT of flies inside. Probably from the many plants, but they should try to do something about that. There are three different menus. The Yelp Menu for ordering, the website and the IN restaurant. That's confusing. Also because one has the coconut dipping sauce and bun as an appetizer as V but the woman who took our order said it was not. We ordered, and I think I ordered most of the vegan items on the menu. I got Turmeric Rice, Seaweed salad, Tofu Banh Mi, Tofu Bun and Tofu Salad Roll. The Turmeric Rice was disappointing but nothing else was. The seaweed salad was some of the best I've ever had. So fresh and crunchy. Lots of flavor. The Tofu Banh Mi was ONLY missing some sauce but MAN the tofu was lovely and the vegetables were DELICIOUS. The Tofu Salad Rolls (they are HUGE...like one is what 2.5-3 normal sized ones are,) were bright and fresh but they're not my thing. Especially since I really HATE peanut sauce. But they too were very fresh. But the star of the show is the Tofu Bun. Holy MOLY. I was not prepared for it. Fluffy buns. Fluffy buns. Fluffy buns. Where have you been all my life?! The stuffing again was SO fresh and flavorful. In loved all the textures and the layering of flavors from subtle to spicy and tangy. My friend ordered the Orange Chicken and the Sweet Chili dumplings and said they were fabulous. The prices are pretty great too. Because for all my food it was $42. (without tip added.) While we were finishing up, the ladies who were working sat down to a vermicelli bowl meal together and that looked drool worthy and fresh too. Went here around 9:30 for some late night dinner and had a great experience. Food was great, the place had tables full, and they were super busy with takeout orders. We ordered 5 different things and they came out one at a time so we were there for a while but because of that they gave us extra soup dumplings, pot stickers and more curry! Ordered Egg rolls and a rice vermicelli char siu noodle dish for delivery via Grubhub. Egg rolls tasted like fryer oil that hadn't been filtered or changed in over a month, and came with no dipping sauce. The noodle dish was "decent to good" but unfortunately I started with 2 of the 3 the egg rolls and was kinda DONE (ugh). Noodles came with totally insufficient tiny container of the dressing. Last time I ordered from a restaurant in Vantucky I got food poisoning, so I guess I should count myself lucky? There is NO WAY what I had deserved anything close to and overall 3.5-4 star rating. I did curbside pick up because it was easier for me well I waited till 11:29 and it said to alert you when you're there well I waited like 10 minutes and I ask the girl what happened to curbside and she said we don't use that in such a rude manor when I was just asking a question. She told me my food is gonna be cold so I spent 70 dollars for my food to be cold because why offer curbside if "you don't do that" seriously super disappointed and the quality of the food wasn't good. The soup dumplings were the best! Everything was very fresh flavored. And best of all, they are open till midnight.

I'm not going to waste a bunch of keystrokes on this review, due to being sadly disappointed in our experience. Let's just say we did not walk away HAPpy: Upsides: * Clean interior, nice layout. * Helpful digital menus with full color images of each entrée. * Thai Tea was awesome. * Employees were friendly, despite the slight language barrier. Downsides: * Bun Wraps say choice of protein, but I couldn't get a straight answer on what my choices were. I ended up with Char Sui pork, which was cold, bland and tasteless, and the buns tasted as if they'd absorbed some sort of cleaning product. I couldn't finish more than one of the three, even with a liberal application of hot sauce. * Shrimp shumai were alright, although they had a weird texture and felt slightly undercooked. My wife and I had been anticipating coming here for a while, but sadly, we'd be hard-pressed to come up with a compelling reason to return. Maybe it was just an off day, but the lingering, unpleasant taste of those buns will remain lodged in my brain far longer than they did on my tongue. read more

I'm always on the lookout for a family-friendly place that won't break the bank. The pork humbaos, the shrimp/pork salad rolls, the bbq pork Vietnamese sandwich on crusty French bread, and the shrimp dumplings were freshly made and reminiscent of dim sum. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because food was served on plastic to-go containers, which get thrown away into our landfill. Why not serve on paper plates so it can decompose properly? Also, we sat at the black table next to the door and the flies and sugar ants kept crawling up my legs. Please take care of those sugar ants! Putting out a dish of apple cider vinegar under that table is non-toxic to humans and will do the trick! read more

After flying into Portland we were in need of nourishment. A quick Yelp search led up here. The ambulance was casual but clean. Parking was super easy and ample. Plenty of food choices but we decided on the shumai, the pork belly buns and the spring rolls. All were freshly made and very flavorful, but the standout was the porkbelly. Ignore all the bad reviews. 10/5 stars, this place is amazing. My family always eats out at expensive restaurants around the country, yet this is some of the best food and service for the price point that my brother and I had ever received. The owners explained to us their menu options and what was best for our dietary accommodations. The house spicy sauce is homemade and BOMB, and the inside is very charming, great vibes to just chat with your friends and fam after. This place deserves more love read more

Finally made it back to this place for another try. Two friends and I walked in around 10PM on a Saturday night, they ordered three different drinks to try, and we all ordered 3 vermicelli bowls, 2 orders of meat pies, an order of soup dumplings and an order of steam bread. As I remember from my previous visit, the meat pies were absolutely divine! flakey crust and a fantastic portion of meat, slightly sweet too. The vermicelli bowls were also on point, with a generous portion of pork belly that had great tasting crispy fried fat cap. Soup dumplings were good, but unfortunately on the cold side by the time we got them home (about 10 minutes driving). The steam buns were just a sweet bread. Bottom line - I think this place would be great to have if you're dining in. The way that they package the food for to-go orders invites them to get a little too cool by the time you get home. read more

This place offers a hodgepodge of items it believes it can kind of make to some "convincing" degree and then tries to just sell those to get by. Dim sum was fake and had cheap filler that made it inedible, Bo kho was absolutely disgusting ($3 up charge to add any noodle by the way) and tiny portion. Ambiance 3/5 Food 4/5 I've got the noodle bowl with pork belly. First time the pork belly was super crispy. I enjoyed it with the Vietnamese fish sauce with it! It comes with lettuce, cucumber, and vermicelli noddles. The second time I went there, the pork belly wasn't as crunchy. The shrimp haw gao was ok. 2 of the six was opened with the shrimp filling falling out. The flavor was ok.. Ambiance is more fast food then dine in vibe with disposable containers/utensils. Hap continues to shine! Tried new dishes and am in heaven. Everything is so fresh, all the best ingredients. The salad rolls were some of the best I have ever eaten. We got the lemon chicken. So crunchy, layered flavors, huge. The marinated salmon is fresh, and just perfect. Pork belly is unctuous and crispy. The meatballs were beautifully seasoned. The 4 dishes will be 2 meals for my husband and me. I got the citrus, ginger drink and it is wonderful. The base is sugar free but the honey isn't. Worth it anyway. Good sumai is hard to find in the area, and I have found it. I was skeptical this being near a strip mall but I remind myself that the teriyaki place across the lot was always great so maybe, I should give it a try. Was not disappointed. The citrus salmon is refreshing and tender on the inside, unlike much of the over cooked citrus based seafood found around. The mango salad has a bit of hicama or something like it to give it a good crisp. The ribs, while not your Southern style, is nicely seasoned in it's unique way. The sumai is fresh, and you can feel it in it's texture before you taste the juiciness. The shrimp inside is a chunk, not some minced pieces that merely gives you a suggestion. This here let's you know you are eating shrimp and pork. the flyfish/smelt eggs on top is still vibrant in color and hasn't turned milky white, letting you know it just came off the steamer. This alone is better than most of the dim sum places in Portland. While not a wholly dim sum restaurant, they do have a pretty good menu. I'll be going back to try some of the other items. Glad to see that East Vancouver is getting some unique places to eat. read more
