Dim Sum Menu Stuffed eggplant $5.85 Steamed Chicken Feet $5.85 Shin roll $5.85
Nikky B.

I visited this spot a while back while exploring more Dim Sum options around PDX. Overall, it's an okay spot for Dim Sum, but not worth the drive from SE Portland for me. The shrimp eggplant was underwhelming. The shrimp was dry, and while the eggplant was fresh and tender, the dish didn't come together as hoped. The tofu skin roll had a pleasant bamboo shoot texture, yet the sauce was thick with cornstarch made it heavy for this delicate dish. The chicken feet were above average, well flavorful but over cooked. The BBQ pork bun came out cold with minimal meat inside. The dough was airy and moist, which was nice, but it didn't quite redeem this stable dish for any Dim Sum enthusiasts. Service was fine, though no one checked in after our food was served. Complimentary hot tea is always appreciated. There's a separate lounge with gambling machines. P.Y. Provides toilet seat covers. It's a small detail yet much appreciated it!

Found this gem a few months ago while searching what to eat around this area. To my surprise, it was a cute dim sum spot in an industrial park. I like how you get to write down what you want here and you get everything made fairly fresh. The shrimp rice rolls were really good, also loved the wo kok. I started speaking Cantonese to the staff and all was well! Glad my native language comes in handy. I will definitely be back. It's got a little parking lot so no worries on that.

This place is great and sadly I just passed it by since it is located in an industrial park and looks so plain and boring from the outside. Inside you will find some great people working, big portions and good food. Nice selection of the usual Chinese American selections if that is what you are looking for. And the dim sum is great so it hits both my cravings for good dumplings and also the usual suspects found on combo meals.

The food was very delicious. We had the combo with general tso's , fried shrimp, egg foo young and vegetable lo mein. Also ordered the honey walnut shrimp. Highly recommend this off the beaten path place

Been considering this place for a few months. It's a hidden gem. I had the noddle soup with pork. The broth was delicious. The perfect winter lunch. I uploaded the full current menu.

This Chinese restaurant is not located in a noticeable location. I was specifically looking for Chinese food, and this restaurant popped up. Parking spaces are tight and small, but since weren't any other cars around, it was fine. It was already dinner hour, and we were the only ones dining in. The older menu on Yelp had a section called "Ceramic Pot", but it is not on the menu when I went. We came as a party of four, and choosing four dishes was already more than enough to make us all completely full. We ordered the House Special Fried Rice (includes BBQ pork and shrimp), Shrimp with Honey Glazed Walnut (includes a cup of rice), Buddha's Feast (mixed vegetables and includes a cup of rice), and a bowl of Egg Flower Soup (everyone gets a bowl or two). I wish their bowls were bigger to hold more food/soup at once. Food was delicious, and total estimated $60, which was at least $20-$30 less than I had spent elsewhere on a meal. Service was great and attentive. This is a really great place for some Chinese food and at a decent price.

I love to come here for the dim sum, alone, or with friends. Either way there are lots of choices and everything I have had was very good.

I love good world! The are a small Chinese restaurant. Your standard Chinese. They don't have soup dumplings or chili wontons unfortunately. I love getting their Singapore noodles!! My favorite. But they are expensive. The staff is super nice. Definitely recommend coming here.

In the bottom tier of Portland Dim Sum. First, there are no rolling carts as you order off the menu. However, they occasionally walk the floor with metal steamers of popular items such as Har Gao and Shu Mai. The Beef Chow Fun was probably the better of the many dishes we ordered. My usual favorite, Wu Gok (deep fried taro dumplings) were smaller than usual. Service: meh. Ambiance: meh. Neighborhood: sub-meh. Parking is easy. One and done.

No. 5 Combo Plate but sub pork with chicken. Already ate most of it!! Yum

The food was good, very classic old Chinese food. A little greasy but that's what we expected and wanted. I will say the service was so fast but we were one of about 3 tables so it was a quiet and nice dinning experience. Unfortunately the one thing I didn't like was that there were ants in the sugar when I went to use it which was gross. But other than that it was good

Visited with after 3 PM. Good to find that restaurant opens after lunch and dim sum was available too. Server was friendly read it right after we sat, and a whole dining room looked clean. Food taste was average, one thing considered regular Chinese restaurant serving time it was way longer we have to wait. Likewise, all dim sum and a fried rice We've ordered all came at the same time instead of one by one. Overall, it was an average visitation.

The waitress took us to a table with no place setting and did not ask if we wanted tea. She never came back. Staff with the cart comes over and just rattling off names of items on her cart. My cousin inquired about an item, she did not respond and looked at her funny. I order item my cousin wanted. Staff just mumbled and put dim sum on table. It's like they just want to unload their cart. She left and another staff came by. Before she starts. I said I cannot eat without utensils, plates, napkins and what about tea? She runs to get these items. I inquired about the tea, what is it? She goes it's red tea it's the only one they serve. By the time we finished, we asked to tally the bill. On staff member says go to the front and pay bill and get containers. I went up to get containers no one in front. Everyone busy setting up for 3PM. I flagged someone. She goes take whatever you need. There were stacked containers and cartons. Family went to pay bill and waited 10 minutes for someone to come to counter. Service is poor here. Minimal the very least. No one checks to see if you want anything. Would I come back. Probably not. As for the food, yes it's dim sum but nothing to rave about. The Shu Mai do not have shrimp. The bean curd wrapped in meat and veggies tasted a little off.

The fried rice's flavor was pretty muted..I prefer a little saltiness in my fried rice and it honestly had barely any salt? It tasted like plain rice with a little soy sauce and maybe oil flavor? Just not very aromantic in general.. I disliked the Mandarin Crispy Chicken the most as I had an issue with the breading. It was very thick and each bite felt more breading than chicken..The flavor of the sauce was good but with how thick the breading was, the inside of the chicken had no flavor at all once I bit in.. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items, but I don't think I'll be back to try any others at least for now. It was a Friday night so it was busy but I'll say service was good and we had a minimal wait time!

My husband's work took him to Shanghai a number of times, and he tells me our visits to Pure Spice remind him of some of his favorite restaurants he'd frequent there. Here's a fun tip! When your favorite Dim Sum places in Portland aren't serving, remember Pure Spice has a permanent Dim Sum menu they serve during all open hours. You'll find a lot of your favorites there. Visitors will find a daily specials board with listings written in Mandarin! This restaurant definitely has the "if you're in the know, you're in the know" kind of vibe. Just ask the servers to translate if you have any questions. And don't be sheepish about asking questions, or flagging someone down if you need anything. This place can get busy with a lot of regulars who may not respect first come, first served conventions.
