Excellent, excellent customer service from my first footstep in. Ashley N. behind the register called out a welcome and let me know she was busy finishing something but would be right with me as soon as possible. It is rare to see that! There was some kind of anime fan art kind of thing going on when I visited, there were several stalls for vendors set up to the right side of the restaurant upon entry. The gachapon machines were opposite in the corner, to your left when you walk in. One of my favourite elements of the Japan pavillion in Epcot and my time in Japan, you gotta love those gachapons anywhere you can find them. I am a matcha fan but am not that familiar with other corners of the tea world beyond earl grey, hot, like the good capitan. They had a pre-set menu of a few tea options, I went with the one presumably the closest in spirit to matcha since it was the only green tea option. You got to add a topping and I was also out of my element there since it is frowned upon by the elders to add toppings to matcha but obviously this is a whole different thing. Toppings included numerous types of boba including just boba, crystal, popping, and more. I went with mango popping boba, it sounded cool. Crystal boba sounded like something out of Breaking Bad. There was light music on in the background, some type of r&b pop conglomeration. It was low enough you could have conversation as needed. Nobody was needing to shout over the music. So even though it was busy when o visited, it was not loud. So that was another thing I liked about this place. My green tea concoction was positively delightful to cool off with on a summer day. The honey, kumquat, and mango from the popping boba combined into what would make a pretty delicioso new Gatorade flavour. It was smooth, sugary, and refreshing. There was nothing not to like about this green tea experience. I would order this exact drink time and time again, even when I am not being treated to a free one on yelp's arm. I love supporting small, locally owned businesses like this where someone is pursuing their passion to bring a new and inventive space to their community and that is this space 100%. Huge thanks to Jando, his team, and official Yelp for arranging this elite week to check out a HAPI business (and female-owned!) I otherwise would not have known about. Many thanks are in order to Boba & Broth for inviting us in and letting us get a taste of the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the divine boba beverage options. Just one of the many reasons why it is sweet to be elite in 2k26.

Boba & Broth was an unexpected find in Sugar Land for this week's elite week. Located in a busy shopping plaza, this female-owned business features a variety of teas, broths, banh mi, and other small bites, all at very affordable prices. I stopped by on Saturday afternoon and was surprised to see the cafe completely full! I quickly realized that there was an anime pop up going on with several booths selling stickers and small features from the films. The event even had a special menu of featured drinks to play tribute to the anime characters. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and enjoying themselves. For the elite week special I opted for the tofu veggie banh mi sampler and the mango lychee lemonade with boba. The banh mi was tasty with fresh ingredients, a generous amount of tofu, and soft bread with a crispy crust. I would definitely get this again. The lemonade was also good but a little sweet for my taste. I did ask if there was a drink that would be less sweet when I was ordering but I guess I didn't specifically say to make it less sweet. It's also worth noting that cafe features small stations with the artwork of several local artists available for purchase. I saw fun stickers, keychains, note books and other small gift items. The owner's father mentioned that these artists rotate periodically and they currently have a waitlist to be featured in store. The owner is clearly making an effort to bring the community together. Love this. Great elite week! Thanks, Jando and Houston Yelp team for anothaaaaa one!

Thank you so much to Yelp and Boba & broth for hosting elites this week! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. There was an event that made it super crowded, but I already knew that it was occurring based on other reviews. So that helped - I wasn't that surprised. I was also a little disappointed that the experience didn't include actual broth lol. Especially since the picture in the announcement had soup in it. So I was geared up for some Ramen. Surprisingly though I didn't actually miss it! I ended up getting the tofu Bahn Mi which was excellent. It was so good that I ended up buying a full sandwich afterward. The flavors were just so perfect and blended together so well with the tofu. I think there were shredded carrots and maybe some garlic mayo. I don't know what all was on there, but it was delicious! Will definitely be back to have that again. I also had the honey lemon kumquat green tea with grass jelly. This was such a good drink! Very refreshing, not too sweet and a little tart. So good with the grass jelly as well. Nice and fresh! I'm really grateful for this experience thank you again so much Yelp and Boba & Broth!

What a nice Elite Week to celebrate AAPI month! I stopped in on Memorial Day. There was a decent number of customers and a few of them were waiting on their orders. The staff was nice, but the service was pretty slow. The young lady at the register explained the deal and answered my questions. The deal includes a drink and banh mi sampler. There were five beverage options to choose from. I ordered the Mango Lychee Lemonade. It was so refreshing, especially since I had just left the gym. I opted not to add any toppings, however the deal does come with one topping if you want. Despite the email stating that we have a choice of tofu or pork for the banh mi sampler, the sign in store only allowed for pork and I wasn't offered a choice (which was fine as I was planning to get the pork banh mi anyway). The meat was sliced so thin like lunch meat and there wasn't much on it, but the sandwich was tasty. I purchased chicken nuggets in lieu of tipping. The nuggets were good with the sweet and sour sauce. The order came with about 10 pieces that were lightly breaded. I don't venture out to Sugar Land that often, so it's nice to explore local businesses in the area. Thank you Jando, Yelp HTX, and Boba & Broth for lunch!

I came for Yelp Elite Week at Boba & Broth on a Saturday and wow, it was packed! There was some type of anime event happening at the same time so the place was filled with people and had a lot of energy. It was definitely crowded, but you could tell everyone was having a great time. The environment was really nice, and I can imagine it would be even more relaxing on a less crowded day. Despite how busy it was, the food was a 10/10. Everything I tried was very good. Also the lady taking orders was super sweet and took the time to explain the drinks to me. Thank you to the community manager and everyone involved in organizing Yelp Elite Week.

Boba & Broth and a Banh Mi Tofu Sampler. What a nice treat on a warm Tuesday afternoon. Able to choose from five choices of drinks. Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Peach Honey Oolong. Mango Lychee Lemonade. Japanese Brown Rice Milk Tea. Honey Lemon Kumquat Green Tea. Not sure what to get? Ask for a recommendation. I went with the Honey Lemon Kumquat Green Tea. Add a topping. I added the basil seeds. So delicious and refreshing on a warm Tuesday afternoon. Asked for the Banh Mi Sampler with tofu. I think that it was freshly made because it was so good! The baguette was so soft in the middle and the crust was perfectly crispy. Filled with carrots, cilantro and a buttery spread, it was the perfect afternoon pick me up. Yum!! Parking was is easy. The space is so open with so many cozy places to sit and relax. Lots of other customers doing crafts or homework. More tables than I am used to at Boba shops. Very nice. Thank you to Boba & Broth for a great treat to kick off summer. Thank you also to Houston CM Jandito for another great celebration of what makes our diverse community so great!!

Such a cute place, i was definitely not expecting a boba place to have so much going on but i loved it. Easy parking, the space inside is bigger than any Boba place i have been to, the aesthetic inside is cute and comfortable. My favorite part about the place is that they rotate artists that they partner with every couple months so there is always new artist stands and something new to see when going back. I bought a couple things From the artist stands. Very unique styles. The best part is that whatever you buy, a portion goes to a pet rescue charity The brown sugar milk tea is soooooooo good! Will be back for more of that.

This was a nice way to break up the week. I was able to select a drink and received a mini bahn mi which was tasty I did order other things and will review them separately from this review. Customer service was excellent and they were very helpful. I used the topping of extra mango jellee in my drink. I enjoyed it. Thanks yelp and Jando for this nice treat for 2026 HAPI elite week

Boba & Broth It's always nice when Yelp features restaurants in Sugarland and neighboring towns. There are a lot of great spots out this way that may go unnoticed. Walked in to a clean restaurant and were welcomed immediately. The Yelp special was easy to use and had the options displayed at the counter. I went with the Mango Lychee Lemonade. You can add boba but I chose not to too. The lemonade was nice and refreshing and not overly sweet. We also got the pork bánh mì sample which was actually a fair size for a sample. The pork was sliced super thin and the spread had a nice saltiness to it without being over powering. The restaurant features artwork of different kinds from local artists that you can purchase as well. There's even a trinket exchange box where you leave a toy and take one. Seems like a fun little spot for people that are into anime as it's all over the walls. Thanks for introducing me to a new spot, Yelp!

I was greeted warmly upon entering and was given the drink choices, which I chose Honey Lemon Kumquat Green. My drink wasn't overly sweet. I loved the balance of sweet-sour and I could also get the green tea taste. The banh mi baguette was toasted to my liking. Though I didn't like the pork slices in the banh mi, however when eaten as a whole, it was ok. The establishment displays cute items like stickers, keychains, etc from various sellers for sale. The interior is warm but bright. They have simple food menu and classic drinks. There are plenty of free parking surrounding the cafe. Thank you for this opportunity, Jando and team!

The concept is interesting, combining Vietnamese comfort food with boba tea, but the flavors were not authentic. We had 5 drinks to choose from and either pork or tofu banh mi sampler. Not sure why it's called a sampler bc I was expecting a sample of different things. Maybe call it a half sandwich. The boba drinks were better than the food, but not particularly special compared to other boba shops in town. Service was friendly enough, but the overall experience was underwhelming. They sell a lot of anime swag here too.

Big thanks to Boba & Broth and Yelp for a great event! When I showed up, I happened upon a pop up with cool stickers, pictures, decals, and more. It addef a fun element to the store. The staff was great, they helped explain everything. I ended up choosing the brown sugar milk tea with boba. Very solid tea flavor and the boba consistency was great. I only wish it were a little creamier. I also tried the sampler pork banh mi. I do admit I was skeptical when I saw it because it looked a little different than what I am used to. The pork was two slices of gia, there were pickled carrots, a thin slice of jalapeno, and beurre. But as soon as I took a bite, I was very surprised! This tasted great! Not the most typical, but very good.

I come to Boba & Broth quite often already, so I was super excited for this event! I love seeing the artist merch and events being hosted constantly. I usually get plain teas and soup here, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good the honey peach oolong and banh mi was! I will definitely start getting the banh mi because it was super fresh.

When I noticed that there would be Office Hours at Filli Cafe, I was so excited as I had bookmarked Filli Cafe a while ago. Made the trek out to Fort Bend for a fun Tuesday evening with friends. Lots of parking available. Checked in with Jando via the Party Pass and selected a Yelp fan and a mini Yelp keychain tape measure as my Yelp swag party favors. Interesting to learn about the complexities and financial impact of choosing and offering Yelp swag. My favorites are still the Yelp retro lunchbox and the Yelp luggage tag. Thanks for the veto on magnets and the emphasis on fun and useful Yelp products. Questions? Can you join events in other cities? How can you help local businesses? What about adding new businesses? How do you get chosen for an event? Why Yelp vs other platforms like TripAdvisor or Google? Why should you post an event review within 48 hours, but not during the event? Will definitely come back for the delicious Iced Zafran Chai. The bites were also yummy. I think they served a Butter Chicken Pizza, Filli Club Sandwich with fries and samosas. As a bonus, after office hours, we walked as a community to the Moosa Colony Food Bazaar. Like a field trip for grownups. Such a fun event. So nice to visit with so many friends. Thanks to Filli Cafe for the delicious drink and snacks. And a big thank you to Jandito for another magical evening, so of course I had to post within 48 hours! The Land of Sugar in Fort Bend isn't new to me, but I honestly did not know about this area. It's like another Little India with so many cool shops and restaurants and the only reason I know about it is because of Yelp! I arrived a little early and got to chat with my fellow Yelpers outside and we slowly trickled inside. Our amazing Yelp intern Jane signed us in and we got to partake in a little Yelp swag picking. I got a really cool portable fan and a keychain tape measure and level. It's always fun getting new items. We also got a chip to turn in for a complimentary drink of choice. I went with their signature drink which is the Zafran Chai. In my culture, chai is a daily drink. I've had my fair share of chai and this was by far the best I've had. It was so satisfying to drink and halfway through I slowed down so I could savor it more. They also generously gave us light bites like beef samosas and butter chicken pizza which were both very delicious. I've been to an Office Hours before and was lowkey thinking I already know the answers to everything. I was absolutely wrong on all fronts. I still learned alot of new things and somehow it felt like all the questions were completely different than the last Office Hours I attended. Major shoutout to the man with the plan, our awesome CM Jando for yet another great event. Even after the event, he took the time to show off some of the surrounding areas and we did a little field trip to the Moosa Colony Food Bazaar. Reviews to follow! Yelp is definitely such a cool community to be a part of. If you want to know more, attend the next Office Hours!

Not even knowing I was going to her establishment. Thy was incredible. She helped me on the popular drink menu between the two choices we had and also something to snack on because I was incredibly hungry after leaving my meeting. I chose the blueberry blush. I had the full sweetness, with no eyes but shaking. Topped off with honey boba and the boba that it came with. **I give the tea a 9/10. It was not overly sweet and the blueberry taste was certainly present but not too powerful. It's definitely a beverage I could see myself drinking daily. My niece actually LOVED it and she's only 10 months. I also had the regular karate chicken. Level 3 spice with basil. The chicken was a solid 10. Point. Blank. Period. It's what you would want from Korean chicken. It was crispy but tender. Spicy, but not unbearable. It also came with sauces if you'd like and I chose the sweet chili. The sweet chili itself was incredibly delicious. But paired with the chicken?? So so yummy. The chicken on its own is a 10 but this sweet chili sauce absolutely elevated it. Then...as I was taking pictures... BOOM! SPLASHHHH...boba went a'flyin' everywhere on the floor. Yay me. I sure know how to stick a landing. Perfect 10! I informed Thy, and without hesitation she came with a broom and a mop. And still had a smaller face. She even offered to make me another one even though the splash was completely my fault. I almost wanted to tear up in gratitude. Truly. I was a bit overwhelmed this morning and that small act of kindness was so appreciated. All in all, I had a wonderful time as I sat there and ate and relax with my baby niece. This place is awesome with wonderful customer experience as well. I will certainly be back! Thank you so much, Jandoooooo and the Yelp Houston team. A much needed and delicious break in the day.

This business decided to stay open for regular customers. I respect them for being able to service customers & keep money flowing in plus host the event. The seemed pretty well staffed to do so. This was a sit down event, which is my 2nd fav type of event, outside of an Elite week. Got to mingle with some yelpers I haven't met yet, and familiar faces. Drinks: Honey lavender lemonade & mango juice. Starters: Olives/Fried cheese/garlic bread Entrée Family Style: Chicken platter Brussel sprouts Rice Mac & cheese Kebab Egg custard Food was yum, def left full and satisfied. This is popular spot in the UK. It was my first time visitng. I enjoyed nearly every dish. I like that they had various kinds of sauces for our chicken from mild to hot. And it was reallt nice of them to give us a coupon for half off chicken, a tote bag, drink, keychain for swag. Bernardo & Nadia were gracious hosts, circled alot and made sure we had everything we needed, and got all the food the other tables got. Out table was hungry and we left no crumbs behind. Very sweet indeed to be Elite. Thanks Yelp.

I attended the first session and we were served the appetizers the moment we were seated. The staff were friendly and attentive. My favorite of the night was the mango lemon chicken skewers. Chicken meat was still moist and delish with Nando's assorted sauces. The lemon herb chicken was also a stand out item, also moist. The chef did a great job cooking the chicken to perfection tonight. The side brussels sprouts, rice, and macaroni were also perf for the main entree. It was a great dinner event overall. We had a great time at our table. Thank you to Jando, the Yelp Houston team, and the Nando team for organizing and hosting.

I was so excited to attend this festival. But the excitement faded very quickly once I got there…read more Now I'm a regular at Axelrad so I'm aware of the parking situation. The small free parking lot was full by the time I got there and the street parking was all taken. I was forced to park across the street in the paid lot. The "funny" part about this parking lot is the sign reads $8 parking but when you scan the QR code it's $8 an hour. Once you walk into Axelrad you had to check in at the table outside to get your wrist band and food ticket. Which I don't understand why there was an admission fee for non-yelp people. Axelrad is an open space with people coming and going throughout the day. The event was suppose to start at 3pm. Once I parked and checked in it was just after 3:30 and I was told the food wasn't ready. After about 30 mins we were able to get our "plate" of food. This consisted of 3 small sample cups of Jollof and small samples of other items. All the food items were cold. I asked someone working the event if this was all the food options and I was told additional food could be purchased. I didn't see many people stay long as there wasn't really much to eat or do. I would have been really mad if I had paid to attend this event.

Add some fresh fruits and veggies. My favorite bite was the purple cup. Nice to sit outside enjoying the West African music, the blue sky and the cool breeze on the first day of November. Life is good!!! Try the King of Pops popsicles. Based in Atlanta, they really are the best. I used to get them when I visited my daughter at Emory. Thank you to the Jollof Festival for such a relaxing afternoon. Thanks also to the magician Houston's own CM Jandito who can fix so many things.

The movie opens to the public on November 7th which made it all the more special that Yelp hooked us up with the opportunity to get a special preview. I've been to several of the YES movie nights before and made sure to read the instructions prior to arrival as sometimes the check in process can be confusing. Knowing that these advance screenings are not exclusive to Yelp, I made sure to arrive well in advance at 6pm only to find a huge line already camped out outside the main entrance. While this was a little intimidating, the line funneled inside fairly quickly to a smooth check in at the table outside of the theater. I'll be the first to admit that I am completely out of the loop on the newest movie releases and movie series and had never even heard of this film. Set far into the future, predator Dek, labeled as the underdog from his clan, sets out to prove himself to his kinsman and seek redemption for his brother's death. Faced with multiple lessons of loyalty and teamwork, Dek finds several companions on his journey which turn him from a solo adventurer to a leader of his own new clan. The film was exciting and kept the audience on their toes. The creatively of the physical appearance of the characters and the qualities of the natural environment were impressive and definitely gave me some ideas for Halloween 2026 costumes. As always, thanks Yelp and Jando, for setting up this event and allowing Yelp Elites to venture into the badlands!

The festival was June 4-14 with various topics daily shown on Eventive Virtual. Admission was free and it accepts donations during the screenings of over 40 Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) films and special LIVE and pre-recorded Q&As with filmmakers. I attended the preseason teaser screening in May. It was kind of fun until the movie stopped due to technical difficulties. Not sure if it was my internet connection or from the host's computer. I didn't stay to the end (maybe it was the end). The fun part was that participants can chat while watching the movie (I think that was the reason for crashing). I heard from the festival organizer, they can show more movies outside of festival. For example, ASIAN AMERICANS Documentary will be featured at the Virtual OCA National Convention this Sunday August 2nd. I'm waiting FERMENTED movie to be shown again. Because I want to host a virtual watch party with my foodie friends. What's 2021 gonna look like? I don't care it is gonna be virtual or in person, as long as Houston AAPI Film Festival continues forever.
