The staff member at the front was very friendly and walked me through all options. I got Japanese's brown rice milk tea with boba added and a tofu banh mi. The banh mi was delicious with toasted bread and a creamy sauce that went well with the tofu and veggie filling. The milk tea was also unique and tasty. I haven't seen that flavor available at other boba shops. We got the bahn mi sampler, which was half of a bahn mi inspired sandwhich. It wasn't traditional, lacking the foundational pate, or bright flavors of fresh jalapenos but was still pretty good. I can understand catering to less initiated palate. The baguette was soft and slightly crispy on the outside. It seems their thing is the "broth" different asian soups paired with different asian noodles, however we didn't get to try any of that. The vibe caters to a specific anime/manga crowd. I came in on the last day of the event and the place was packed, which I totally didn't expect! They had some event going on with stands setup inside which were cute with stickers and other type of goodies for purchase. I will say that as busy as they were, it was still very easy to place my order. You walk up to the counter to place your order. I was the first Yelp Elite the girl at the counter had experienced, so I patiently waited as she figured it out but she was super sweet. There was a curated list for Yelp Elite's and you got to choose one drink with a topping and get half of a banh mi. I ordered to go and chose the Honey Lemon Kumquat Green Tea and decided not to get a topping. The tea was so refreshing and delicious! I liked how it wasn't super sweet. I ended up eating the banh mi in the car on my way home. When I opened it at first it was a little different than I am used to on how the Pork looked, but it was actually really good! I kind of wish I would have placed an order, but I was too far away to turn back! Overall, the experience was great and if I am ever in the area I would totally visit again! Excellent, excellent customer service from my first footstep in. Ashley N. behind the register called out a welcome and let me know she was busy finishing something but would be right with me as soon as possible. It is rare to see that! There was some kind of anime fan art kind of thing going on when I visited, there were several stalls for vendors set up to the right side of the restaurant upon entry. The gachapon machines were opposite in the corner, to your left when you walk in. One of my favourite elements of the Japan pavillion in Epcot and my time in Japan, you gotta love those gachapons anywhere you can find them. I am a matcha fan but am not that familiar with other corners of the tea world beyond earl grey, hot, like the good capitan. They had a pre-set menu of a few tea options, I went with the one presumably the closest in spirit to matcha since it was the only green tea option. You got to add a topping and I was also out of my element there since it is frowned upon by the elders to add toppings to matcha but obviously this is a whole different thing. Toppings included numerous types of boba including just boba, crystal, popping, and more. I went with mango popping boba, it sounded cool. Crystal boba sounded like something out of Breaking Bad. There was light music on in the background, some type of r&b pop conglomeration. It was low enough you could have conversation as needed. Nobody was needing to shout over the music. So even though it was busy when o visited, it was not loud. So that was another thing I liked about this place. My green tea concoction was positively delightful to cool off with on a summer day. The honey, kumquat, and mango from the popping boba combined into what would make a pretty delicioso new Gatorade flavour. It was smooth, sugary, and refreshing. There was nothing not to like about this green tea experience. I would order this exact drink time and time again, even when I am not being treated to a free one on yelp's arm. I love supporting small, locally owned businesses like this where someone is pursuing their passion to bring a new and inventive space to their community and that is this space 100%. Boba & Broth was an unexpected find in Sugar Land for this week's elite week. Located in a busy shopping plaza, this female-owned business features a variety of teas, broths, banh mi, and other small bites, all at very affordable prices. I stopped by on Saturday afternoon and was surprised to see the cafe completely full! I quickly realized that there was an anime pop up going on with several booths selling stickers and small features from the films. The event even had a special menu of featured drinks to play tribute to the anime characters. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and enjoying themselves. For the elite week special I opted for the tofu veggie banh mi sampler and the mango lychee lemonade with boba. The banh mi was tasty with fresh ingredients, a generous amount of tofu, and soft bread with a crispy crust. I would definitely get this again. The lemonade was also good but a little sweet for my taste. I did ask if there was a drink that would be less sweet when I was ordering but I guess I didn't specifically say to make it less sweet. It's also worth noting that cafe features small stations with the artwork of several local artists available for purchase. I saw fun stickers, keychains, note books and other small gift items. The owner's father mentioned that these artists rotate periodically and they currently have a waitlist to be featured in store. The owner is clearly making an effort to bring the community together. Thank you so much to Yelp and Boba & broth for hosting elites this week! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. There was an event that made it super crowded, but I already knew that it was occurring based on other reviews. So that helped - I wasn't that surprised. I was also a little disappointed that the experience didn't include actual broth lol. Especially since the picture in the announcement had soup in it. So I was geared up for some Ramen. Surprisingly though I didn't actually miss it! I ended up getting the tofu Bahn Mi which was excellent. It was so good that I ended up buying a full sandwich afterward. The flavors were just so perfect and blended together so well with the tofu. I think there were shredded carrots and maybe some garlic mayo. I don't know what all was on there, but it was delicious! Will definitely be back to have that again. I also had the honey lemon kumquat green tea with grass jelly. This was such a good drink! Very refreshing, not too sweet and a little tart. What a nice Elite Week to celebrate AAPI month! I stopped in on Memorial Day. There was a decent number of customers and a few of them were waiting on their orders. The staff was nice, but the service was pretty slow. The young lady at the register explained the deal and answered my questions. The deal includes a drink and banh mi sampler. There were five beverage options to choose from. I ordered the Mango Lychee Lemonade. It was so refreshing, especially since I had just left the gym. I opted not to add any toppings, however the deal does come with one topping if you want. Despite the email stating that we have a choice of tofu or pork for the banh mi sampler, the sign in store only allowed for pork and I wasn't offered a choice (which was fine as I was planning to get the pork banh mi anyway). The meat was sliced so thin like lunch meat and there wasn't much on it, but the sandwich was tasty. I purchased chicken nuggets in lieu of tipping. The nuggets were good with the sweet and sour sauce. The order came with about 10 pieces that were lightly breaded. I came for Yelp Elite Week at Boba & Broth on a Saturday and wow, it was packed! There was some type of anime event happening at the same time so the place was filled with people and had a lot of energy. It was definitely crowded, but you could tell everyone was having a great time. The environment was really nice, and I can imagine it would be even more relaxing on a less crowded day. Such a cute place, i was definitely not expecting a boba place to have so much going on but i loved it. Easy parking, the space inside is bigger than any Boba place i have been to, the aesthetic inside is cute and comfortable. My favorite part about the place is that they rotate artists that they partner with every couple months so there is always new artist stands and something new to see when going back. I bought a couple things From the artist stands. Very unique styles. The best part is that whatever you buy, a portion goes to a pet rescue charity The brown sugar milk tea is soooooooo good! Boba & Broth It's always nice when Yelp features restaurants in Sugarland and neighboring towns. There are a lot of great spots out this way that may go unnoticed. Walked in to a clean restaurant and were welcomed immediately. The Yelp special was easy to use and had the options displayed at the counter. I went with the Mango Lychee Lemonade. You can add boba but I chose not to too. The lemonade was nice and refreshing and not overly sweet. We also got the pork bánh mì sample which was actually a fair size for a sample. The pork was sliced super thin and the spread had a nice saltiness to it without being over powering. The restaurant features artwork of different kinds from local artists that you can purchase as well. There's even a trinket exchange box where you leave a toy and take one. I loved the balance of sweet-sour and I could also get the green tea taste. The banh mi baguette was toasted to my liking. The concept is interesting, combining Vietnamese comfort food with boba tea, but the flavors were not authentic. We had 5 drinks to choose from and either pork or tofu banh mi sampler. Not sure why it's called a sampler bc I was expecting a sample of different things. Maybe call it a half sandwich. Big thanks to Boba & Broth and Yelp for a great event! When I showed up, I happened upon a pop up with cool stickers, pictures, decals, and more. It addef a fun element to the store. The staff was great, they helped explain everything. I ended up choosing the brown sugar milk tea with boba. Very solid tea flavor and the boba consistency was great. I only wish it were a little creamier. I also tried the sampler pork banh mi. I do admit I was skeptical when I saw it because it looked a little different than what I am used to. The pork was two slices of gia, there were pickled carrots, a thin slice of jalapeno, and beurre. But as soon as I took a bite, I was very surprised! This tasted great! First of all, this place is super cute! I wasn't able to linger, but there's art, stickers, and charms to buy, even gacha machines for anyone feeling lucky. They also hosts events for local artists and fandoms to congregate. I'm no stranger to a banh mi, and this one was tasty! The honey lemon kumquat drink was really good. Mine initially came out a little too sweet with the lychee jelly topping, but the staff was incredibly kind and quickly made me a new one with the sweetness adjusted to my liking. And it comes with a real slice of lemon and kumquat. The pork bánh mì wasn't my favorite, mainly because I already have a go-to spot that sets a pretty high bar for me. That said, the bread had a nice texture, and the pickled daikon and carrots were fresh and flavorful. For me, the meat was the part that fell a bit short compared to other bánh mì I've had. Overall, I'm glad I gave this spot a try and would definitely come back for the drinks. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and happened to arrive during one of their events. I honestly didn't realize this place hosts events and walked back out to make sure I was at the right location. Later, I learned that they regularly feature rotating artists. The place was absolutely packed; I'd estimate at least 50 people were inside where half of them dressed up in a costume for the event. I ordered the peach honey oolong tea with crystal boba and a half brisket bánh mì. Since there was no available seating indoors, I ended up eating outside in the 96'F heat. The drink was good. I ordered it at 50% sweetness, and it was still fairly sweet, likely because of the honey. As for the bánh mì, the brisket was flavorful, but membrane thin and in little quantity. It only had a small amount of pickled carrots and daikon. There was no cucumber, though I did request no cilantro and no jalapeños. The bread was also a bit dry for my taste, so it's probably not something I would order again. I spent some time browsing the shops and noticed some stickers selling for around $4 each, which shocked me. One nice perk was the free parking. The outdoor seating was okay and free Wi-Fi was available. I also noticed several soup containers on the counter. From what I gathered, you can customize your meal by choosing your noodles, protein, and broth. Unfortunately, with temperatures hovering around 96'F and it's not soup time for me. I don't usually find myself at Vietnamese tea and sandwich shops so I was curious to check it out. As you walk up it doesn't look like anything special but once you walk in you're greeted to a very cute and welcoming atmosphere! You're going to be drawn to all the cool art along the walls, but wait! Go talk to the staff and put your order for bahn mi and tea in first. It will take a bit to prep as everything is made to order! THEN you can take your time exploring all the art and merch for sale along the walls. Portions for the proceeds go to pet charities. Lots of really cool original anime and cartoon art made by local artist I guarantee you haven't seen anywhere else before. They has have a trinket swap. Leave something and take something. Fun idea and I'm sure you'll find something you like. They have tons of seating and TV to watch so before you know it your order will be called. I've been interested in trying Boba and Broth since they opened. Thanks to Yelp Elite Week, I was able to try it. The store is super cute and has a bunch of merchandise from different artists that you can purchase. The workers are also really nice. For the Yelp Elite event, we get to pick a free drink and a sample size of their pork banh mi. I got the brown sugar milk tea which was pretty tasty, but I should've asked for less sweet. The Yelp event gave a full size drink with one topping and a half banh mi sandwich of veggie or pork. The pork is like a steamed bologna looking deli meat which confused me a bit but it was delicious, especially the bread and sauce/ spread. It's not much but it is a sample as they say. Drink was good although I wish I had asked for less sweet, assuming they will allow that as most drink places do. The staff was super helpful and attentive, as I came here with the family and my small kiddos wanted to grab all the cute local artist goods (and I'm not looking to pay $4 for a sticker for my 2 yo. ) they have a fun trinket trade section and they let me take a trinket even though I didn't have one to trade, and let my kids play with the empty capsules. We ordered the brisket banh mi which I would highly recommend! Also got the ramen with a mix of the dashi Shio and Tokyo shoyu broth And pho with noodles and dumplings and a splash of the dashi shio broth to the pho broth. Their broths are on point, and I can see why some people would just buy broth to go and use their own noodles or dumplings at home. We also enjoyed their takoyaki, which I don't typically try or like but I thought theirs was pretty good. Overall, I do think their food is really good but it is a bit pricey for what you get. For the event, I had honey lemonade kumquat and pork banh mi sampler. The drink was great for a hot day and quite refreshing. They were as expected but what stuck out was the bread part. I don't know what they do with their bread but wow. The filling in the other hand can use some work. It felt like it was missing something . Next time, I'll get their broth and tofu. This was a nice quick stop for a snack or lunch. It's a very open room with regular tables/chairs and high table/chairs for studying, working, or to hang with friends. They have a corner for board games. They had small stations around the cafe of local artists products and they were fun to look at and there was a few I may get in the future as a gift. The staff are super friendly and give a comforting vibe. There's free parking out front. But the store is some what tucked away so it can be very difficult to see from the road. Delightful event in Sugar Land. I love Elite Weeks where Yelp Elites can swing by local businesses whenever available during the week and enjoy a treat. Boba and Broth is a super cute coffee, tea, sandwiches, and noodle place in Sugar Land, close to Town Center, next to Yummy Pho and within walking distance of Jusgo grocery store. It can get pretty congested around 59 and Highway 6 so pack your patience. It was a 30 minute drive from Spring Branch on a Thursday around lunch time. For this event, we got a free drink and half a pork banh mi sandwich. The drink - brown sugar milk tea w boba - was great! And the bread on the banh mi was spectacular! The pork was not what I expected (I'm used to thit nuong) but it was good nonetheless. It was more like a cold cut of ham. Staff was super nice, professional, the food and drink didn't take too long (it wasn't super fast either), the decor of the restaurant is quite pleasing. We arrived on memorial Monday in the later afternoon to get the boba and banh mi! This place is in a prime location with 99 ranch and Hmart across the street. The parking lot is plentiful and the indoors is pretty large for a boba place! Almost seemed like two shops combined to create one big space. It was also quite busy! When we went up to check in and order- there was sign with 5 boba teas you could pick from and at the bottom stated one tea w free topping and pork banh mi. I got the brown sugar boba less sweetness less ice, I wanted a tofu banh mi as advertised at the Yelp event invitation but it wasn't an option. So we waited and waited 15 mins go by and then 20 mins go buy for two drinks seemed like they were short staffed and quite busy. Got our drinks- and then I realized I forgot to specify that I wanted boba in my drink and just assumed. At that point we were tired of waiting and left with my one sweet brown sugar cup of milk. I will say my husband's drink that we paid was delightful- ginger milk tea with honey boba was very tasty! Such a cute spot! The open space and charming modern decor really create a warm and inviting atmosphere. As soon as I approached the counter, I was greeted by a friendly staff. The Elite combo included a drink of choice and one drink topping and a half sized pork or tofu Banh Mi. I chose the Peach Honey Oolong Tea and the tofu Banh Mi. The gal at the counter was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I mentioned that I prefer less sweet drinks and she adjusted the sweetness of my tea to 25%, resulting in a delicious and nicely balance flavor. The tea had a subtle sweetness and a hint of peach. The tofu Banh Mi was equally impressive. Despite its appearance, which suggested an extra crispy and hard texture, actually had a delightful texture. The bread had a nice crunch on the outside while remaining soft and tender inside. The combination of flavors in the Banh Mi were a harmonious blend with its mayo, pickled carrots & daikon, cilantro, and soft tofu. I also enjoyed browsing through the artwork and anime merchandise while waiting for my Banh Mi. I definitely will return and order the exact same thing again that I had today. All I can say is that the drink was delicious! I am always looking for an excuse to make the trek out to Sugarland and since this place has been on my list to try, I signed up. Thanks for picking me! The place is spacious and cutely decorated, filled with things to purchase from local artists, and anime playing in the background. You can pull out a laptop and work or just hang out with friends here. The email said you could choose from tofu or pork but I was told after checking in that the sample sandwich was only pork. Since I'm allergic I ordered just the drink. I wanted to order a soup bowl but I noticed how backed up the kitchen was even though the restaurant wasn't crowded, so I decided I'll come back and try another time. A customer passed me after picking up his udon and it looked good! My drink? I chose the mango lychee lemonade. Not too much ice, with mango syrup and mango bits in it, just enough tang from the lemon. She explained everything in the menu very well and allowed me to sample the broths even though I wasn't getting any soups. I love how her kids helped to decorate it too. The concept is more towards students, kids, or people that want a place to take a break and/or study. There's also lots of merchandise, art within, and tables to study/play games/chat. I got the Peach Honey Oolong and it was DELICIOUS - right amount of sweetness with oolong flavor. They also allow 1 topping of your choice. I also ordered a strawberry banana smoothie and it was delicious, much needed on this hot day, and LARGE. Definitely get what you paid for. Only reason I'm docking a star is because the banh mi left much to be desired. Even if it was a sampler, I feel like I could better tasting ones elsewhere. I will definitely be back for their drinks and soups, maybe not the banh mis but it might be different if I actually ordered a full one. I was happy to finally come check out Boba & Broth after the previous Elite Week was rescheduled. This event showcased an Asian and women-owned business in Sugarland which also happened to fall during Houston Asian Pacific Islander month. I'm a big boba fan so this event was right up my alley. From what I gathered by the amazing staff, I was the first Yelper to start out this Elite Week. What you get is a drink from one of five of preselected drinks with one add on. They also give you a Banh Mi sample. I went with the Mango Lychee Lemonade with mango jellies as my add on. I didn't have any choice in the Banh Mi. I always like to support the business so I bought additional food to make it a complete meal which I'll review on their business page. The place had steady business coming in so getting my order did take a little bit of time. This gave me time to check out their cute restaurant. I can see this as a great spot for the younger crowd to come in and hang with friends and buy their cute merch Iike stickers, etc. Once I got my order, I dug right in. First off, my drink was very tasty and refreshing on this hot day. It wasn't overly sweet and had the perfect balance of all the flavors in the name of the drink. I honestly don't know what kind of sandwich I got but it was delicious. It gave me sliced turkey or chicken vibes, but it could have been tofu. Regardless, it was very good. The bread was perfectly toasted and slathered in Vietnamese butter. The added fresh carrots, cucumber and cilantro gave it a nice contrast of freshness to cut through the other rich ingredients. I wished I ordered a full sandwich after devouring the sample. Big shout out to Jando for another great Elite Week event. It's events like these that bring attention to places we may never run across. Big thanks to the wonderful owners and staff at Boba & Broth also for welcoming us in as well. This was such a nice bite & drink at Boba & Broth. Everyone was so warm & welcoming when we entered. I really enjoyed the local art work and the assorted seating options. It was very cute inside .I was able to find comfortable seating in the corner while I enjoyed the very delicious mango boba and pork Banh Mi sandwich. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant & ambience and look forward to returning with my daughter. The location is Sugar land is ideal! This shop was super cute and packed with cool artwork. I loved how they supported Instagram artists by featuring stickers, posters, keychains, and other fun items for sale. The drink was refreshing on a hot day, and the sandwich was the perfect snack before dinner. Definitely a fun place to stop by if you enjoy art, unique finds, and a good not overly sweet drinks. read more

Thank you to the yelp team for this elite week to try out a place in SL! I enjoyed the honey kumquat drink and the half sandwich actually surprised me on how good it was! The bread was extra crispy, which I enjoyed and the mix of flavors of everything packed a punch! It wasn't the typical Vietnamese sandwich, but enjoyed it still! Cute mom and pop shop with different Artist walls with cute anime designs and other things for purchase. Decor was nice looks small but it's not. I had a Brown sugar boba which was really good. Sandwich was a little lacking but bread was great! I'll go back for the boba and local artists with mostly handmade things. read more

They have an option between 5 drinks and either a pork or tofu banh mi sampler. I chose the peach honey oolong and the pork banh mi. The drink was very refreshing and had really good peach and honey flavor. The banh mi sampler was really good as well. I love the mayo they use here. Pickled veggies were nice. Pepper was not spicy at all though. The bread is very airy and tasty. I really enjoyed the banh mi overall. Omg what a cute place! There was a popping anime event happening when I stopped by. So thankfully it was packed! There was outdoor seating to enjoy food but inside was so full. I got to meet the owner and her dad and they were so sweet. They were able to explain more about the restaurant and how they're supporting independent artists in Houston. The peach honey oolong is refreshing and the boba is chewy. The pork banh mi is a little more Americanized as it's sweet and with mayo but I enjoyed it. Looking forward to coming here for future events or just to chill with friends. Thank you for the event!! read more
