I've been wanting to give Happy Belly Bistro a whirl for a while now, and I wasn't disappointed! They're located inside of Ten20 Brewery. Came with a friend for Louisville Taco Week, and I tried one of each tacos with a side of esquites. All of it was fresh and delicious! I was pleasantly surprised that the veggie taco was my absolute favorite. It had like a black bean purée with so much flavor and the veggies were perfectly cooked with a little crunch. Also, the brussel me Patrick was had slow braised corned beef that just fell apart with a little gravy which was so unique! I wanted to call out the service here bc I was accidentally given the wrong taco in the beginning, which I hesitated to bring up to them, as it was just starting to get busy. They staff there were OVERLY accommodating and told me they'd come find me and personally bring me the right taco. And let me tell you, that chicken taco was (literally, it had jalapeños on it..) Delicious experience last night for dinner while having beers at Ten20 Brewery. Menu was easily pulled up online asking scanning the flyer at our table. I appreciated the information about each item, including if something was substituted or could fee multiple people. Pick up time assigned and payment made online. I got a text when my order was ready and walked inside for pick up. Overall a great, easy experience. I loved the pork tacos. It came with a side of rice - that needed work, no flavor and not sure it had been cooked long enough. The beer cheese dip and chips is great to share. You can get great food from a food truck. But it's not everyday that the food looks beautiful as well. Happy Belly Bistro does it all! HBB regularly parks at TEN20 Craft Brewery, which is where I encountered them last week. To start with, I was impressed by the fact that you can order and pay from your table via a QR code on the menus. And it was hard deciding what to go with! So much looked delicious. I ended up choosing the Whatever Nachos and elote. Both were delicious surprises. The nachos are made with yucca chips, which are a bit firmer than normal chips meaning they are better at holding the toppings that included chicken, pico, queso fresco, chipotle aioli and red cabbage. These all worked so well together to make for some flavorful nachos. With the elote, I liked that the husk was kept on. It was seasoned with chipotle aioli, queso fresco, tajin and cilantro. The corn was cooked perfectly. Both of these put me in such a happy place. I can't wait to come across HBB again, perhaps trying the birria tacos next. read more

That was fantastic! We came across Happy Belly Bistro at Ten20 Brewery and wanted to try it out for dinner after the menu really sounded attractive. I ordered the Elotes ($5) as a starter and it was total goodness! My bride ordered the Whatever Nachos ($11) and really enjoyed it. I went with the Crazy Rito with Chicken ($12) and it was excellent. Scheduled the food truck for my school, my ENTIRE school. And the day of, they didn't answers a call, text or respond to any email that I sent or even call back after I left voicemails. Woot!! Woot!! I finally made it to Happy Belly Bistro!! Had the pleasure of joining the Virtual Yelp Event that Chef Ashlee and Happy Belly Bistro took part in several months ago. I told my wife that whenever we get the opportunity to visit Louisville that I wish to visit her business. Last night, my wish came true!! We found Happy Belly Bistro at Gravely Brewing. They conduct business there a couple of times a week. Unfortunately, Chef Ashlee was not there so my wife and I missed out on meeting her. Fortunately for us, though, we were able to try her food concoctions. We shared two entrees. The Smash Burger with fries and the Birria Tacos were our choices. Both entrees did not disappoint. They were each DELICIOUS!! My favorite item was the Birria Tacos!! I saw Chef Ashlee make them at the Virtual Yelp Event so actually getting to eat them in person was fantastic!! They tasted so well especially with that broth dipping sauce!! I was hoping to visit them at their food truck like what I saw during the virtual event. Wanted to take a photo with their Happy Belly Bistro name and Chef Ashlee. Still, both my wife and I were very happy to chow down on their yummy food! We left the premises with Happy Bellies!! I first saw Happy Belly Bistro on a local photographer's Instagram. It looked delicious & I saw they park at Gravely on Sunday & Monday, so when I was looking for something quick one Sunday afternoon I decided to give them a shot! I am SO GLAD I DID! The Happy Belly Bistro team was incredibly friendly & they talked me through their menu to help me decide what I wanted to try. I wound up trying the Tacos Birria & the Dumpster Chips! The tacos featured pork, oaxaca cheese, pico de gallo & came with the consommé broth dipping sauce. They were INCREDIBLE. The order came with two, but I could easily have eaten four or more! The dumpster chips have a fun name & a yummy set of ingredients. The base was yucca chips, topped with chicken, pico, queso fresco, red cabbage slaw, & chipotle aioli. My only teeny tiny critique was that it could have used more cheese & sauce to spread out those flavors across the very generous portion of chips & chicken. When I say very generous, I mean I could have shared them with two other people as a nice appetizer & then enjoyed our separate entrees. I had tons of leftover that I munched on the next day as well! It was... disappointing. Everything was overpriced, with portions and flavors not big or good enough to justify it. I ordered a sort of taco bowl thing, and with no meat because it was the cheapest thing on the menu (12 dollars), and I had already eaten. It seems like it was just a half a cup of instant rice, with a table spoon of black beans and a bit of pico de gallo on it. It tasted fine, but not worth the price in the slightest. My friend had a similar issue, ordering the shredded chicken sliders ($18, I believe). It was a small serving for the price, and the ingredients were not quality enough to justify it. There were no sides or drinks included in this price. There is also an automatic 15% gratuity, no matter the size of the group. I tip generously anyways, but I do think that should have just been included in the price. It seems deceptive. You don't even get table service. It was sort of irritating. The two people working were super friendly, though. There is no actual restaurant seating, but the complex it is located in has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was perfect, to be honest. Nice and shaded, but still pleasantly sun-warmed. read more

Please note!! This little gem is located in the 1020 brewery! In Butchertown. The food was great! Everything was freshly made! The owner was lovely. One of our menu items that we ordered I did not have the ingredients that were pictured in the menu. She gladly gave us extra tacos to make up for the snafu! Her customer service was excellent! She far exceeded what I would've asked for. We had the grass fed burger in addition to the street tacos! Everything was great. Our counter service was quick and friendly hopefully followed by great tacos unfortunately that's not what we got they were a little skimpy on ingredients and very bland. For one thing, they were late. If the schedule says you'll be someplace by 2pm, then after 3 is definitely late. Worse, the servers were Not surprised at all. Then everything was over-salted. My husband went to Gravely to meet up with an old friend and have a "boys night" - me, 8 months pregnant and knowing Gravely has food trucks, asked him to send me the menu so he could pick something up for me to take to lunch the next day at work. I was SOOOO happy to see that Happy Belly Bistro was the food truck, because I've been wanting to try them! I wanted the stir fry but they ran out of a few ingredients so I went with the dumpster chips and asked if the chips could be packed up separate so they don't get soggy by the next day. Well, not only did they have my chips separate but ALL ingredients were separate so everything was perfectly ready to roll for lunch today. I WAS SO PLEASED. y'all these chips are bonkers good and it was a very generous helping (for a pregnant woman like me that doesn't have much room left for food in the belly) so I have another half to eat for dinner! I hadn't heard of HBB but stumbled upon them at Ten20 Brewery yesterday for a Sunday Funday after my coworker and I got off from work. We decided to share the Old Town Road Nachos and Dirty Dog. No joke the nachos were some of the best I ever had! The combo of the pulled chicken that was perfectly seasoned and moist with the tasty sauce, pickled cabbage, and corn on light and crispy chips was the perfect food marriage! I love corn on nachos but not many places do it. The Dirty Dog didn't look like I expected it to but after tasting it, it was delicious. I think it was missing the bacon and the cowboy candy maybe (it had pickled jalapeños) but it was a very good hot dog! I will definitely be back to HBB! I went to HB for burger week and was enjoying an excellent All American Burger until I found a hair that was as long as my forearm partially in my mouth and partially in the burger. When I took it inside the waitress said that she could give me some chips or a partial refund. When I told her that I would settle for a full refund, she fired back that there were only two bites of that burger left. Up until that point I had been trying to be as discrete as possible in front of the 15 or so other patrons that were in line. The hair was an accident. It happens and when it does the restaurant makes it right and everyone moves on. She finally relented and gave me a full refund, but only after I restated in a manner that was not shouting, but clearly audible, that I pulled a hair out of my food. I felt bad for her and still do. Burger Week is wildly popular and they were being slammed. Her mishandling of the situation and her frustration level in general clearly shows that she has had not been properly trained and is definitely not supported by the owner. The burger was DELICIOUS.
