FREEHOLD: Halloween House Freehold is a fun dog friendly attraction that fully immerses you into a Halloween World. Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed to walk through a completely decorated haunted house and be spooked by the different spaces including a vampire's lair, glow room, Nightmare Before Christmas display, graveyard movie theatre, and so much more! There are chances to interact with props and be part of the eeriness. It takes less than an hour to walk through and there are so many awesome photo opportunities for lasting memories. You can stay inside as long as you want and revisit rooms over and over again. The staff is awesome and are always offering to take group photos. Halloween House prides itself on not being scary, just spooky, so it is good for all ages and is unique for the whole family. There are some creepy things to see, but there are no characters popping out and no surprises. It is all indoors at a storefront inside the Freehold Raceway Mall. We recommend parking near LL Bean/Primark and enter the mall where the main entrance by Jared and Cheesecake Factory is. Walk to the left and go down the escalator and the Halloween House is right there. Typically the mall only allows dogs in carriages, but for this event, as long as your dog is on a leash, that is fine to go to the Halloween House. The attraction is dark, loud, and can get crowded, so make sure your dog can handle it. We recommend going on a weekday and they are open 7 days a week through November 3rd and tickets can be purchased online at https://halloweenhousefreehold.com/. Dogs are free to enter! Absolutely not worth it!! Save your time and money!! For starters, the website is absolutely deceiving , the descriptions make this seem like a legitimate Christmas attraction . The descriptions of what this place has to offer are way out of touch with the reality. They charge almost $40 per ticket ( VIP Entrance) to see about 6 or 7 small dimly lit rooms that look like they were decorated by young children . The spaces are cramped and the rooms are separated by black curtains which make the place look even more depressing . Admission to this place should be free or by donation only - this is an absolute scam!!! Also, if you go close to the holidays , beware of the horrendous parking lot traffic as Christmas House is located in a mall with holiday shopper traffic making it even worse to navigate your way to this place . My thoughts after visiting this place with my infant and family for the first time - NEVER AGAIN! Please do not waste your money on this. First of all, we waited for over an hour in line, with a bunch of screaming kids (I don't blame them, it's too long for them to wait...we had timed tickets which were useless). If you pay quite a bit more and get a VIP ticket you can go right in. While we were there many VIPs showed up....so at one point a half hour went by while they let these people in. Frustrating. Inside, it looks like a bunch of teenagers put it together. I was embarrassed I paid money for it. One room was an old Blockbuster store....why? I have no idea. Another room had a blurry video of "Elf" going and 5 folding summer chairs. The snow room is one nozzle that didn't work well and sprizzed into one area of the room. You have to be kidding me. You are better off driving around your neighborhood and enjoying the much, much better shows. The only thing that made this somewhat bearable, was that we weren't the ones who paid VIP money for this pathetic mess. Someone is laughing while they rake in money for this. What i thought would be, 45 minute Christmas extravaganza turned into a less than 5 minute walk through a lack luster display of .... well What ever that was in all honesty. Save your money. If you want to walk through a bunch of small rooms where it looks like they went into their attic and pulled out some old furniture and added a few cardboard cutouts and then make you pay to see it, this is for you. I have never felt so ripped off before. The people I feel sorry for are the two nice young people working the door. They try to make it into a fun experience and are very friendly but it is hard to put lipstick on a pig and make it pretty. read more

This was the most horrendous rip off. Looked like high school kids put it together, not even that good. Worth about five dollars to go through not $45 . Kids running a muck, cheap materials, not scary at all very slap shod. Took us 10 minutes to walk-through and we really eeked it out to try to make it an experience. The idea is nice however, the musty odor once inside is terrible. The price is too high for the length of time that it takes to walk through. Total disappointment! I purchased 8 tickets for a birthday outing for my son's 12th birthday. The displays were pitiful. There were no activities other than cup pong. We were in and out in 15 mins and we spent as much time as possible in each room. For the $249 that I spent, I expected a lot more. It was a total rip-off! It's so small we walked right past it, if you asked mall employees they gave directions to the outside event. When we got there, there was a small line, I bought vip tickets which was a real joke, and inside , first there was a weird smell, its in a tiny empty store, there's individual lil rooms which could have been cute if there was some kind of organization,. for the price paid, there should have been someone in each lil room there to take pics, n control it, if you wanted to take pictures other people would wind up in it because there were multiple people just roaming around. there is another event outside with what looked like beautiful light display, that probably would have been the place to go. please don't waste your hard earned money read more

First of all.....My family and I went to the Christmas House inside of the freehold raceway mall. The website is more deceiving then an ad for knockoff male enhancement pills. My wife bought the VIP express tickets to skip the (non existent) line for $39.99. The Christmas "House" is just a vacant store inside of the mall that switches from a Halloween walkthrough attraction to a Christmas walkthrough, oh and there was still fake blood on the repurposed furniture from the Halloween attraction inside of the Christmas displays. Try explaining that to a kid... The whole walkthrough took about 8 mins and the staff were kids who were disinterested and hiding behind the cardboard facades while on their phones. According to the website the experience should take 45 mins and that's not including the gift shop, baked goods stand and "huge" Christmas tree, all of which were non-existent. TOTAL RIPOFF, Should be advertised as a Christmas escape room in which you have to pay to leave. read more
