Once they redeem/double check your voucher. They walk you to the room. They have a bathroom for customers use. The room was warm, great temperature, clean sheets, and lights dimmed for a better massage experience. You would have to undress to your underwear, lay face down first. They start with your head, neck, shoulders then work their way down to your back and legs. I like that they asked before doing anything and applying oil. I asked for a soft massage, he was very gentle. My cousin asked for medium hard. Before you flip over, they use the hot stones to massage you. It was very nice. I loved the head, shoulder, arm and calves massage. The hot stone helped with easing our muscles. The whole time, my masseuse was massaging me, he was very careful to cover me at all times. Very respectful. After the massage ended, they waited outside to give us water and walk us out. I will definitely recommend this place. They have limited parking in the back of the shop. I had been coming to this spa for years and had always had good experiences, however the last time I came there was a woman working who I'd not met before and she wouldn't accept my loyalty card (the buy 3 massages and get a discount on the next one) which I thought was annoying. Then she asked me to tip before the massage which I also didn't love, but whatever I tipped 20% and then she repeatedly said I should tip her more. The massage was whatever, but then within seconds of her finishing it she asked if I would now tip her more, and honestly I didn't feel it was worth a 20%+ tip so I said no, and she kept questioning "so you only tip me this much? not more?" and I kept saying no. I ended up finding happy feet which was really close to where I reside, and the lady was super friendly and responsive. She even texted me the morning of, and responded to my text of me running a few minutes late with a super nice response, which helped me relax as I was rushing and anxious for being late. The spa is very simple and clean. The employees were very nice and helpful, and the massage was awesome. I didn't feel uncomfortable and the pressure was perfect. The only thing is that I did a 60 minute massage plus a 30 minute foot reflexology, and I wish that I could have done the feet part in a different position because by the time I was nearing towards the end my lower back was hurting a little from laying flat for so long. Peter was amazing. He definitely has magic hands and made it a mission to get to all my knots. He occasionally checked to make sure that I'm okay or if the pressure was too hard. This is my honest review and personal experience based on my recent visit on July 6, 2025. It began with a phone call at approximately 6 p.m. to Happy Feet Spa (6596 El Cajon Blvd.). The person (lady) who answered the phone didn't come off as rude but seemed unmotivated to schedule us (my wife and I) as we wanted a couples massage. She stated that she would call us back, and guess what... no call back. We thought it was no big deal; maybe they're just busy. So we headed on over there and walked in through the back. While walking through the hallway and making our way to the front lobby, out comes some thin (noticeably skinny) lady from behind us in provocative clothing (believe me, not a pleasant sight). As she's fixing her half-dressed attire, she proceeded with giving us the massage rate, and we paid the $60 per person. On with the massage. In the beginning, the massage seemed quite untrained. A lot of just pressing, then I was hit with a "Do you want oil?" I was confused... I responded with a... yeah... doesn't it come with it? So when the oil hit my back, it was just a lot of swirling, more so than actual massage. The masseuse also left the room like three times during the massage. Here's the funny part: when she did my feet, she put on gloves, the type of gloves used in a cafeteria to serve food with... what??!! (Loose like a sandwich bag). When asking my wife, she said her masseuse only slightly massaged her feet with the blanket over it, what a joke! All in all, we (my wife and I) have been here in the past and enjoyed our massages. This time around had totally ruined the thought of me ever returning or recommending it. In my personal opinion and "ONLY MY OPINION", is that the two women there at that hour/day were not really interested in massage based on their lack of skill and dress attire. One more thing before I wrap this up, and I'll be honest, I felt like the masseuse did not deserve a tip. I feel your tip should be based on your service. That being said, I walked out disappointed, and sure enough, guess who's following me repeatedly asking "I get no tip".. I get no tip .. ?? Absolutely no shame! I was hoping to feel more relaxed and a decrease in my body tension, but felt the same afterwards. We got the $50 combo massage (40 min body + 30 min foot) plus gave a $10 tip. For $60, we both agreed the price wasn't worth it. It was hot in the room, the towel they used to wipe us was really rough and scratchy like sand paper, they kept leaving the door open when they went to get the hot stones and towels, and the last 20-15 mins felt rushed/half the effort (a lot of punching towards the end, a little too much). The customer service is good for what it's worth despite the language barrier.
