Campground was very quiet. It was clean and they made positive upgrades. The manager and his staff was very nice and helpful

Very poorly managed RV park. The front office is nearly impossible to get ahold of, management is…read morehardly ever there. Another time I wanted to go backband stay again, I tried to call and get a price on a cabin and it took him days to get back to me. By then, we didn't want it anymore. This is mostly older Canadians, or people passing through on fishing tournaments, etc. Not very many locals at all. The lot sizes are relatively small so I hope you get along with the neighbors. The roads are full of bad potholes that have been that bad for a while. They are slowly fixing then luckily. There is a speed limit of 5mph, practically walking speed, and if you go even 1mph over, someone is guaranteed to scream at your car. There is a pool that they say is heated to 80, but there's no way that it's heated that high. It's freezing. The entire piece of land is swampland, when it rains it floods pretty bad. With a little more upkeep and better management, this place could be so much more. But its mostly Canadians keeping it going

I have traveled this country for over 10 years and NEVER seen a campground so POORLY run. First,…read morethe office is only open from 9am to noon, so you boondockers , come in after noon and leave before 9am and they will never even know you were there. There is a septic smell all day long from the faulty septic system. The water tastes like the runoff from a chemical plant, it foams when you pour it in your glass from the tap, you can't drink it or cook with it, its only good for flushing your toilet. If you want a picnic table or fire ring, you better pick a site that has one, only about half of them do, otherwise you have to steal one from another site, or, if a seasonal, you have to buy one. The laundry is a JOKE !! You put your money in and SOMETIMES something happens and sometimes it does not ?? Most of the sites have not seen any new gravel in 20 years. They have firewood for sale ( if you are lucky enough to have a fire pit ) but ONLY if you need it between 9am and noon. They have a propane set-up but nobody to run it. The web site is VERY misleading, don't be looking for a nice pond with a fountain, it does not exist. The manager is VERY dishonest, he will lie to you every chance he gets. The heated pool is heated to 78* , not my idea of heated. Do yourself a favor, pass this one by.

I won't go in to the embarrassing and awful details of my first night at the campsite but let's…read morejust say if it wasn't for the generosity and over-the-top unbeatable hospitality of Martha, owner of Maple Hill, and her family (and friends), our weekend would have been absolutely ruined. Maple Hill offers an in-expensive and convenient camping experience for those looking to go hiking or sight seeing in the Bristol/Waterbury area. The "downtown" of Bristol is a short drive away if you need to buy supplies or want a nice evening out for dinner and ice cream. They have both wooded and field sites you can get a nice spot right on the river. There is also a bathhouse with running water, showers, and flush toilets. I have never been so pleased with an experience of true human compassion and the people running this campground are what all humans should achieve to be. I know this review may be somewhat cryptic but might I just add: Make sure that you remember that the road for the campground is located across the street from the white house and not to find yourself going down a rocky dirt road in the dark, in a rainstorm, in the fog....Things may not end up well for you haha. Anyways, Martha is the best and thank God for AAA. Check in and registration is at the white house and campsites run about 25/night for non electric sites.

Great little campground!…read more We had a spot right over the brook and fell asleep to the sound of it babbling. Some of the wooded spots are definitely on the small side but they vary. The field sites are huge, and open... they don't offer the privacy but would be a fantastic place camp with a group and stargaze. Maybe the only time I have used a campground bathroom and not had to avoid the hordes of harvestmen/daddylong-legs. And the bathroom lights are solar powered! Super nice owner, low rates, very clean grounds. It's close to some neat swimming holes, hiking and mountain biking trails, as well.
