Wednesday afternoon, 4 families lost their homes due to roofers damaging a water pipe and flooding…read morethe building. The city came and condemned the entire building by Wednesday night and we all had to leave. One family has lost everything, the other 3 have lost their homes. While the roofing company and the HOA that hired them are trying to figure out who is responsible, 4 families are looking for a new place to live for the foreseeable future. No relief has come from the roofing company nor the HOA to assist with those efforts. However, I have to tell you all about the amazing people at Magic Pet in Baldwin Park who looked past how busy they already are during the Christmas season, and decided to help the people. As soon as our home was condemned, around 6:30PM Wednesday night, I walked to Magic Pet and told them what had happened and that we needed a place to take our 2 dogs and 2 cats. I told them I didn't know how long they would be there and we needed help. The owner looked at me and said, "Bring Them. Bring Them. We are busy, but we are a community and we are here to help our community. Bring them." I almost cried as one stress was immediately lifted with no questions - just compassion and a willingness to help. If you ever need boarding or grooming services for your pets, they have always treated our sweet pups well - and they are treating the humans well also. While the roofing company and HOA are trying to save as much money as possible and continue to hold someone else responsible for the immense damage, the wonderful owner of Magic Pet made room and DID something to help.

The wonderful people there completely understood that his long fluffy coat is a nessecesity to the breed and should not be cut or shaved. When I picked him up, he looked amazing - great mini-groom, nails looked good and his double dew claws were nice and short, sani-trim was the only cut. His coat was gleaming white. Very happy with the service and people - they are so nice! The store front also has a great selection of treats, dog food and accessories. Thanks!

I reserved a Saturday afternoon and did not wait for my time slot. Reservation is key! I got an iced vanilla coffee in the mean time and the barista was very helpful. They were able to accommodate my oat milk instead of a traditional dairy option which I was grateful for. The kittens were the best part! They were all so cute and cuddly! The adoptions are facilitated through SPCA and donations are accepted. The attendants were so helpful and informative. My cousin was running a bit late so we were also able to extend our time (with a small extra free). Overall, I highly recommend this cattery for your serotonin boost!

She also apologized again for the mix-up with the cat baths and reminded me to bring them in for their complimentary service. Overall, I really appreciate how Darlene followed up personally and took accountability. Aside from the small oversight, I could tell the staff truly cared for our pets. With just a bit more communication and attention to small details, this place could easily be a 5-star experience. I will be bringing our pets back next time we are in need of boarding services. I hope to be able to give a full 5 stars the next time we board with Bass Pet Resort & Spa.

The last two grooms have been less than great and $70 for a 12 lb dog?!? Really? And who cuts a Yorkie's head short? She looks ridiculous. To make matters worse, they charged me a late fee because the computer showed me as "late" because I had to wait for the customer before me before I could check in. The girl at the front desk said she could waive it but my receipt still showed the charge. I'm going to have to shop for a new groomer as this place has gotten worse over the years. I received a response to my review on Google from the owner, who said I should have addressed the late fee when I was there - I DID and was still charged the late fee. They also seemed surprised that my dog was a mixed breed despite her having been groomed there many times. And the most laughable part was them saying my 12 lb Yorkie/Jack Russell is a medium dog. I advised them this was my puppy Poppy's first time getting grooming and they reassured me everything was going to be alright. They walked me to the back grooming area so I could see where she was going to get groomed and explained the whole process which was very comforting. So after a few hours went to pick her up and she looked gorgeous. They did such an amazing job with her cut, she smelled amazing, and her accessories were adorable. They also have very fair pricing for the quality of work that they do. The owner was super nice and gave wonderful customer service. He even gave us different treats and dog food to try for free. They have gained my trust and business for as long as I have a dog.

A confirmation text was sent after making the appointment via phone call. My dog and I were warmly received upon entering the business. My requests for styling were honored and my dog came out looking adorable. The price is fair. I appreciate that there's not a ton of add on grooming options like some other places. I did add teeth brushing, however. A bag of free treats was provided upon my departure. This place is back to being my preferred groomer.
